The place is lovely and charming. It is always full so you need to reserve your table.The service was good & the waiters are friendly. The food was great specially their meat. Their dessert pain perdu was very delicious.The location of the place is nice. The interior design is cozy. Prices little expensive.

It’s hard to accept that what used to be a fine dining restaurant has turned into a mediocre and below average joint! Steak was served cold and extremely rough! We returned 2 dishes as the meat was excessively chewy! Service was slow, no response from staff on our complaints regarding the poor quality of the meat! Generally accepted norms usually consist of complimentary dessert or coffee, not to mention omitting the partially consumed steaks from the bill! Of course none of this was ever offered or discussed! I used to be a regular, yesterday would definitely be my last visit to Couqley

Very rude receptionist, both on the phone and physically .Prices are expensive (I am an expat) even more expensive that pre crises .Quality of the food is very average - While steak frite is as good as before, the onion soup and mushroom puff pastry are mediocre. . Outside seating is not equipped with thr minimum heating and shelter requirements although pushed by the staff to sit there. .Waiters lack serving training and menu knowledge, they couldn't answer one single question regarding what does a dish contains. Not same “bistro” i used to visit, waiters and hostess lacking the proper decent skills, like a finger in plate and a reservation getting booked and cancelled etc… So if u want to charge for a bistro, or call it a bistro then have the bistro protocols… food was ok , bit more expensive then before, but experience was very disappointing!!!

Great atmosphere taste food

The best duck confit ever, and I have had quite a few in my life! So juicy, felling off the bones a perfect combination with caramelized onions and sautéed potatoes. The house bread also deserves a mention, extremely tasty, especially the darker sort. The prices in the restaurant are typical Beirut or a little bit higher, but worth it.

Food was delicious, perfect place, wonderful environment I removed one star because 2 employees started to fight and swear to each others, I was with my fiancee and she was disturbed because of the offensive language.

I tried the poulet frites, its still good but used to be much better before. The sauce tastes different and more like a regular creme fresh. Its served with fries and a side salad, so the price is good in terms of the quantity and compared to other places. The music is a bit too loud, but the place itself is super cozy as always. We had to ask for change after paying like 4 times which seemed weird because the service was always good before. The staff are still super friendly, would recommend for dinner with friends, family or a date.

I Like this place, it is cozy and calm. I like the Couqley steak which you should try. What is unique about Couqley that you can clearly understand their identity and food style with the combination of wine which is of great taste there.

It’s almost impossible to have a reservation by phone at the bistro as they have problems with telephone lines. We had to go there and reserve ourselves which is a big issue that the restaurant should fix asap. The service needs improvement. We did not get a complimentary bread basket with butter as other tables and our server did not take the extra glasses that were on our table. The steak frites were good but be careful that the price tag is very high and even higher than other high end places.

We had a great dinner here yesterday, I'm so happy couqley reopened in Beirut. We go almost monthly in Dubai, and the Beirut branch was equally enjoyable. Do try the onion soup, salmon tartare and ofcourse the steak frites. Shout out to our great waiter!

Super nice restaurant. Wer had crab cakes to share and I had the steak frites and they were super yum! Service was great and prices for Beirut okay. Had a hot lava chocolate cake for dessert which was also nice. I would def. Come back! On Saturday night during July it was pretty empty which seemed odd and does not give it the bistro vibe.

We had dinner reservation for two at 10 pm , we were kept waiting 30 min for our table to be ready in the freezing cold next to the door .. our food arrived at 10:50pm , the poulet was not as good as the steak . I guess it was not our lucky night and I am glad it was not our anniversary;)
