Walked in, where we were promptly informed that the pricing of the ticket had doubled. The website indicated otherwise, so I would strongly recommend the company to update their sites accordingly. Wanting to feed the tortoises, which is for a fee, we were informed this is done at the site of the tortoises and in cash only. We made our way to the tortoise area and we witnessed people just feeding tortoises anyway without paying any fees - again, if there is no charge for this then better to update the sites and inform the staff at the entrance. Best to be honest. The park itself is a mixed bag, you find yourself looking at animals from behind cages. So, the lack of engagement is an issue, although it was nice to see the tortoises and deers. The gardens and trees, all the greenery really does look beautiful. I think a lot of improvements are required to elevate the quality and status of this park. The new entrance fee does not justify that at the moment.

This is the place to see giant turtles🐢 and get very close to them. Even perhaps to close to them ☺️. Went first to another park but from my experience this park is playing in another league. Enjoyable and fun experience to feed the turtles. Rest of the park is also nice. Quite expensive but you get a rich experience!

La Vanille Nature Park in Mauritius offers a captivating experience for nature enthusiasts. The crocodile feeding show is a thrilling highlight, providing a close-up view of these impressive reptiles and an educational insight into their lives. The giant tortoises add to the park's charm, allowing visitors to interact with these gentle giants and learn about their conservation. The insect collection museum is a hidden gem, showcasing an incredible variety of insects from around the world. And let's not forget the enchanting fruit bats, a unique sight that adds to the park's biodiversity. La Vanille Nature Park is a must-visit destination that combines entertainment, education, and natural beauty in one memorable package.

This place was the worst and cruel place I've ever been in my life. I had no idea that this is a zoo. I thought it was a forest with like guardians to keep people safe and animals have enough space and they are free. But they are absolutely not, crocodiles in very small lakes, tortoises in glass rooms all together with no space, lemurs in cages. Everything was incredibly terrible. Too expensive and a place not to go absolutely bc it's a zoo and animals looks extremely sad to me. Don't go.

Great Crocodile and turtle Park with a lot more animals within the area. The kids really liked the huge Fruit Bats, bat also 😉 feeding the turtle and the on display show of a leguan. Restaurant was also greatly located in the jungle and had good options for both small and big kids If you have a day to do something special - get here.

Great nature park. I think walking amongst the giant turtles was my favourite. Saw feeding time for the crocodiles. In awe and terrified at the same time. See my videos and pictures. Resident ticket also includes Rs 200 voucher on certain refreshments. The insect museum was mind-blowing with all the different types of bugs. You can stroke and take pictures when they take out the iguana. Slightly disappointed that the keeper didn't engage with the visitors. Would have been nice to hear some details about the animal: name, age, interesting facts etc .. Instead he spent all the time talking to a fellow keeper. The park isn't massive. We were here for about 2.5hrs. Highly recommend a visit.

Well maintained park, showing care for the animals, sustainability, and conservation of the species. Highlight is feeding and petting of giant tortoises. Botanical forest brings you the feel of being in the midst of a jungle.

A must see place for all turtle lovers! There are hundreds of them! An interesting crocodile feeding show. You'll need 2-3 hours to really enjoy the park.

The place is small but it's packed with fun attractions. They have one of the biggest populating of turtles and you can freely walk around them. Also, make sure you are there at 11:30 since that's the time for the crocodiles feeding show (included in the price of the standard ticket).

A nice morning or afternoon out. Nice to walk around and see some animals as well as the free shows. Being able to feed the tortoises for just 25 rupees is a must.

A very calming place. The wildlife attractions such as tortoise and crocodiles are good. The nature trek is also very good and calming and you can feel more close to the nature during this trek. There are many activities such as animal feeding and interactions.

Really fun time here, spent a few hours here and really had a great time with the turtles, my wife became best friends with 118. We also walked the grounds for a while, they have a lot to see.

You’ll be able to discover the different species of crocodiles and turtles in Mauritius. It also has some other animals usually found in Mauritian forests. A walk in nature with multiple unique plants surrounding you.

Nice little park. Would recommend feeding the tortise. Amazing huge slow historical creatures. The historicak part of the extinct animals was sad and informative. All thoose nonflying birds extincted after humans reached the islands :(. Dodos and elephant birds… Cool to see real lemurs.

Nice and well maintained zoo with a diversity of local and foreign animals. The highlight are the hundreds of huge turtles which you can walk amongst, touch and feed. You can buy some leaves for 50 rupees. Worth a visit.

A wonderful place for a day in the south of Mauritius. Having been here on 4 previous occasions, it is still a great outing! Staff is super friendly and helpful, all smiles! We visited with a little 2 year old boy, and the turtles and crocodiles were definitely he's favorite. One thing to keep in mind is that the walkways are fairly uneven and can sometimes be difficult to follow with a pram, but it seems like there are some works here and there to fix this, good job!

Nice play for a visit. Be sure not to missed out the amazing, huge turtles. You can feed them, pet them, enjoy some time in there. Park is well maintained, snack bars (you can pay by card everywhere - January 2024) and some other attractions. A bit too high price for what you see inside. It is not a zoo or some. Small park.

Definitely worth a visit, at least once. There’s an enormous amount of crocodiles, and tortoises at the park. The kids can feed the tortoises, farm animals and baby crocodiles, and even take a photo with a baby crocodile. The restaurant has quite an extensive menu, with different crocodile meat options, as well as vegetarian and vegan meals. There’s also a room full of insects (not alive though, all pinned to the wall) and there’s a Dodo Museum, with some skeletons and various historic facts. You can buy yourself a crocodile leather bag if you like at the gift shop, or some fossils and crystals from Madagascar.

Staff are really courteous and helpful. Feeding baby crocodile and the tortoises is worth every penny you pay. Fast and prompt service at the restaurant and food was delicious too. Animals there are really taken care off. Overall had a really good experience.

One of the best outings since a long time. Had a nice weather....not to warm nor too humid. Crocs Feeding time was the highlight of the day although the lil one enjoyed feeding the baby crocs via a pole. The restaurant was simply superb. Tried the assortment of croco. It was delicious. Would never have guessed what it was if not told. Well prepared though which makes the difference. After lunch we enjoyed feeding the aldabra tortoises and taking pics with the iguana. All in all...a great day in paradise. Thks very much La vanille Crocodile park.

Expensive, but worth spending the money. Giant turtles - wonderful emotions and experiences. Restaurant - excellent crocodile burger. It's worth a walk around the park, vegetation like from Avatar.

Really nice place to visit the staff were excellent expect an entry fee before going inside 900 plus rupee to get in. It’s about an hours worth of your time. No tigers but plenty of tortoises Which you can get up close and personal with. Worth the money maybe BUT THE ANIMALS SEEMED well taken care of which in my book is a plus. No sad animals here. overall experience was ok. Again I wouldn’t complain about the price. I would rather pay a little more to see happy animals. Which in my opinion is the case here.

  • 5/5 Julia A. 10 months ago on Google
Desweiteren könnte man Lemuren füttern, ebenfalls gegen Gebühr.

Very good park for family outing and picnic for a day. A bit costly for foriegners but worth it. Here you will see turtles aged upto 200 years which are found exclusively in Mauritius. There are other animals as well and its good fun for kids. We went as a group of tourists and spent around 3 hours here. Must visit for tourists. Car parking is available.

The nature reserve is a great way to see animals that would not be present on the island. They are well fed and look healthy. There are aligators, lemurs, monkeys, fish and tortoises. The zookeeper at the tortoises is really helpful to tell about their history unique identifier of the genders and to show you around. If you have any questions he is kindly helping and you can have a better understanding of these amazing animals. You can buy some green to feed the tortoises. Bring cash (Mauritian Rupees) if you plan to do that.

  • 3/5 Marcus T. 2 years ago on Google
Nice little Zoo. Really liked the tortoise breeding and the number of giant tortoises. What I absolutely disliked Was the aligator feeding. This was more a game for the tourists, than feeding hungry animals. Just give them their food and show the people how they eat their food, there is no need for playing with them like they are toys!

  • 5/5 Maaz S. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic gem of a small zoo. Has a tame deer walking around the park, hundreds of big tortoises, lemurs, crocs and an amazing (almost complete) collection of preserved insects.

Nice place to visit with lots of things to see. You can take the guide or visit by yourself(follow the map) We got a Rs 150 discount to use at the snacks. All the museums are just amazing. At 11.30am you can see the feeding of the crocodiles. Lots of animals to see/take photos like monkeys, deer, crocodiles, tortoises, fish and so much more. Worth the visit.

This place is amazing. The site is really big and has beautiful ponds and wildlife. The alligators are fascinating and I think it's great that you can walk in with all the (giant) turtles! I was really overwhelmed with this amazing visit and of all the things me and my wife have done whilst on our honeymoon this has been one of our favourite places to visit whilst in Mauritius.

Loved the experience and close it was to our hotel. If you are staying in Grand Baie it's a great place to visit. A lot of tortoises, crocodiles, monkeys, lemurs, bats, iguana and other animals, we were there in time for the crocodile feeding at 11am. There is a Cafe you can grab something to eat that is cost effort.

  • 5/5 M B. 11 months ago on Google
Turtle experience was the best moment of my visit to this park. You should buy some food/ branches at the entrance and feed them, no danger at all. Other parts of the park offer interesting things as well, but watch out for mosquitoes 🦟

Very nice place to walk around with a family or alone. See some legendary tortoise, lemurs, monkeys etc, and plants and trees. Tickets are very reasonable and the park is well maintained. It is worth visiting if you are on vacations in this lovely island Mauritius.

It was a beautiful experience to be able to be so close to these sweet giant turtles, to be able to feed them and to pet them. It was also very nice to eat a delicious crocodile meat in the restaurant. Delicious with vanilla sauce (not kidding). The turtles seemed to have sufficient space, with partial freedom but the other spaces were in small cages which I always find difficult to watch (monkeys, deers, crocodiles, eel, bats, ...).

  • 5/5 Paulina G. 1 year ago on Google
Just fantastic. One of better place we have visited during our Mauritius trip. You can spend time with giant turtles and feedback them which is a great experience. You can see those Animals in many spots on island but not so close and in such nice manner. They take care of turtles and help recreating this species on island. Try to be there at 11 on crocodile feeling. This is a great experience as well.

  • 4/5 Julien V. 2 years ago on Google
The park is a great outing for families. It is not very large, so it's perfect for kids. My kids particularly liked the big turtle area, the monkeys and the farm area at the entrance. We had a nice time there. Only point to note : crocodiles are sleeping most of the day, therefore visitors have to be on time for the feeding attraction, otherwise there's no action or movements in the crocodile areas.

  • 4/5 Alvine S. 2 years ago on Google
There are lots of tortoises to see and pet as well as other wildlife. The crocodile are massive in the park but the highlight for me was holding a little baby Nile crocodiles. This was so amazing. Worth the price of admission alone. If you love wildlife please check it out.

Nice small nature park, around two hours, to see crocodiles and turtles. Family friendly, with snacks, pushchairs and picture opportunity with a baby crocodile.

This is the coolest park for the sole reason you can touch and ride the biggest Tortoise in the world. It is a show stealer. Get a free guide but do tip him if you find the service great. Mine was really knowledgeable and I learned a lot from him. You can also interact w other animals, check the interaction time. Do come protected, the mosquitoes are abound.

Highly recommend a visit to La Vanilla Nature Park. One of the most interesting and diverse parks I have ever visited. You can get up close to the turtles and feed them. Plenty of the other animals and the crocodiles as well. Good amentites on site and very educational. One of only a few places outside of your hotel I would recommend when in Mauritius.

  • 5/5 Stefanie P. 2 years ago on Google
What a wonderful experience for kids and grown-ups. Dont miss out going there. It is worth the drive, no matter where you stay on the island. You feed tortoises, see crocodiles, monkeys, real jungle feeling, while enjoying great food. It felt like the park’s purpose is to truly honor pure nature along with its wonderful creatures, not to commercialize it for entertainment.
