Food and service are good but the place is very small

We went there for breakfast... The serve all day breakfast which i really really liked... Their coffee options are enough too and they're really good... Food portion sizes were good and the staff well behaved... The food choices were also good... And especially the sweet options were good and plenty... Overall totally recommended!!

The pistachio éclaire was exquisite. The fillings were so flavourful. The raspberry tarte was also good also. Paul has opened stalls in the mall where you can sit and have a tea or coffee. Cool atmosphere except it is too open. Prices are okay. Sofas are comfy. Friendly staffs.

Food is generally good but you don't have all the options you would get in a PAUL outlet in France or elsewhere. And sometimes items go missing from their already restricted menu. For example on one recent visit I could not even get an iced cappuccino even if it had been heavily advertised on their social media accounts. Service is fast.

This is one of my favourite restaurants for meeting up with friends. It’s location is central which means one can meet people from the North if you live on the West coast. It’s about halfway. Its location also means I can do other shopping before or afterwards. Numerous items on the menu are not available due to shortages but their patisserie section is always plentiful and they serve delicious salads. The restaurant is cool and tastefully decorated like the Paul’s that is familiar to those who frequent their franchises. It is classy without being pretentious. Staff are friendly but seating is limited and service is slow, so go early and be prepared to wait on busy days.

Very disappointing experience at the Bagatelle kiosk. Took forever to order because another customer was struggling to pay due to card machine error. Staff could have mentioned that they had no working card machine to other patiently waiting customers which wasn’t clear beforehand. Instead the guy took my order, packed it all up and then proceeded to tell me that I’d have to queue up at the cash machine to pay in cash. 9 months pregnant and was in a big rush (which I had also mentioned before!) .. so no thanks..! Staff should have mentioned this before to easily avoid inconvenience - had to leave my lunch and consequently didn’t have time to go elsewhere - no apology of course. Not in a hurry to return! Pathetic way to handle it in the circumstances. Could have at least let me take the tiny cake on the house considering we go there all the time.

Bought 3 sandwiches at Bagatelle, near MCB ATM. Worst food experience I could have had. Mozzarella sandwich was soggy and the2 smoked marlin sandwiches - 3 very thin strips of of smoked marlin sitting on dried up lettuce. And at the price of Rs200+. Either you have become money minded, or your employees don't bother about the quality of food served. Much better at Super U Grand Bay. A huge disappointment and waste of my money because the food was good only for the bin!

This cafe is located inside bagatelle mall. Seating is limited, but this cafe appears to be busy. My latte had too much milk foam, the milk was steamed too long, but they offer a good amount of pastries to go with your coffee. If you manage to find a seat here, it’s a nice atmosphere to watch people coming and going.

I am surprised to see numerous bad reviews here. I went there around 3-4 times and service has been ok, it was not excellent but it was fine. The savoury food does not hit the spot for me. It tastes good but there is nothing that differentiates itself from the rest. Baguette with cheese and ham is a classic but for the price you pay, you might make it yourself. Now, the cakes are quite good and probably what saves this place. The cheese cake is yummy, the cream cheese is not its own, it is clearly mixed with some cream and a generous amount of sugar. The éclairs are beautiful, though I feel for Paul's calibre, it could have been with some craquelin. Overall, i think it is ok. For the mauritian market though, I do feel a slight reduction of approximately 10-15% would have made it more accessible to the general crowd.

Old: One of the best cakes and pastries on the island. Now switching to 4 stars because taste and service have really deteriorated. Just called for an order and had a guy take my order consisting of French pastries in English with an Indian accent. Couldn't even explain properly what I wanted to buy without repeating myself. The macarons which to me were one of the best on the island have now become less than average tasting. They're not delicious at all considering the price. Service and quality now needs improvement.

Very bad experience encountered at Bagatelle. We were there for lunch, have waited for 15mins to get the menu card and still not received. While other guest just arrived, in less than 10 seconds they have already got their menu card before them while we were still waiting to receive the card. We were blantantly ignored and foreigners were given more importance, though i wonder why is it because you charged foreigners a different price or something ?!, I consider this to be plain racism. And you should train your employees a bit more thouroughly how to handle rush hours and not discriminate between clients.

Very unpleasant experience at Paul Bagatelle, which occurred twice on separate days. My order was utterly messed up by the staff. I placed a number of orders with one member of staff, but I ended up getting everything wrong. During the busiest lunch hour, the staff appears drowsy and pays little attention to the orders of the customers. The fact that the staff brought out the bread I had ordered, preheated the food, and did everything else but box it or even put it on my list as instructed astounded me. I discovered that the employees had forgotten to deliver the food I had ordered when I got home.

Was searching everywhere for cappuccino with almond milk. Apparently, this is the only place where it's being served.

I visited yesterday the Paul's store (the actual shop). They have a terrace outside where they don't serve. You can order at the counter and they make you a ToGo pack which you can take outside and seat yourself. Next to the terrace is a dining room where you are seated and served at the table. That confused me first because I tried to order at the counter but wanted to sit inside as I didn't want "ToGo". As a result I waited in the wrong line until one of the staff explained. I ordered yesterday an Espresso Macchiato, a Cappuccino, a chocolate Éclair and an almond tart. Today a Macaroon. Everything was prepared professionally and the cakes tasted very good and authentic. The server was kind and attentive.

Went in to have breakfast, the waiter indicates the place is full. I asked him if I can wait until a spot is opened. I asked him to let me know when the table is vacant. He never came to let me know and people who came after me was getting in. His name was Dylan. Poor customer service.

Often come to order a Caesar salad, but the quantity is very limit, giving that the other outlet in Grand Baie serves double in size literally. Service could also be a lot better.

Usually buy drinks - Not sure if it is halaal as they don’t have halaal certificate ! I asked the manager who is an Indian and told us to look for it on Paul website ! We could not find it and when we asked her to show us the page , she could not and was told to say so . So be mindful.

Very standard cafe taste and service is very nice we guys were late but staff treated us very nicely even while the cafe was closing but I'll say not to go if you are trying to have good veg snacking but coffee are nice I'll reccomend lavender and vanilla latte ,they are must try.

I liked the décor but hated the meal. I got the chicken and quinoa. While the presentation looked good, when I tasted the quinoa I almost puked. It tasted like something that has gone spoilt because kept too long, not fresh at all. I was so put off and disappointed more so when it was so expensive. I would not recommend the meal. However their pastries still tasted good so overall would say 3 stars.

Always a convenient place for coffee or a quick bite. 😊

Chocolate pie was surprisingly dark. Moelleux au Chocolat came with too much whipped cream! Service is terrible - staff should probably learn from their colleagues at SoFlo!
