My wife and i had diner over there. There was a good ambiance and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. For starters we had chilli chicken and Bengali deep fried calamari. The chilli chicken was fire. Calamari was not chewy but crispy. Main course had a mutton RoganJosh it was creamy and the lamb was well cooked and tasted great. We took butter naan, cheese naan and garlic naan to accompany the main course, we really appreciated the cheese naan. The servers were friendly and professional and service overall was good. Parking spot available.They can improve on the portions of their main courses. Overall it was a good experience.

EXTREMELY SALTY food from the starter ie. mixed vegetable pakoras to the main course and even the achard contained A LOT A LOT of salt. We ordered garlic naan which was burnt on one side. The dishes are overpriced. We waited nearly 1 and a half hour to receive the starter. I DO Not recommend this place at all.

I visited this location today at 1 pm with my friends and family, and I detest it since the personnel is terrible. Orders are taken quite slowly, and the staff members are excessively haughty. Rahul, the restaurant's manager, exhibits really poor behavior. With Mauritians and non-Mauritians, they practice racism. When we placed a second order, they informed us that the kitchen was closed. However, they accept fresh orders from other clients. Please avoid from going here.

Portion are very mediocre, if you spend around rs280 for butter chicken, you expect quantity and quality, both are missing. Sour and poor portions, it's already been written off my list of go to Indian restaurant.

It was my first time to try indian food at restaurant. And I'd say Kesar is a good option if you're ever looking for tasty indian food. The butterchicken and naan was yummy. If ever you are a person who gets full after 2 3 bites of heavy foods, don't be greedy to order much naan like I did and had to take takeaway.🤪 But yeah my critic would be that the place needs to be a bit airy, we went during the day it was kind of hot and suffocating but the staff made it convenient and they were friendly as well.

I will rate it as 1 star based on my dining experience on friday 13th August 2021. We were there as a group of 8 people for dinner. 1. Service was really slow. 2. We were served expired sparkling water twice. The expiry month of the sparkling water was June 2021. The manufacture date was Feb or Jan 2021 - it is quite obvious that they are using the stock they received just before the second confinement. 3. We had the same issue with the beer we ordered. It was "acre" in taste. We were served in glasses so could not verify the expiry date. Same issue with the second round of beer. We stopped ordering after that and did not complain about the beer. 4. And no the manager or who ever was responsible bothered to apologise regarding serving expired drinks. We wont be going back there for sure.

had to wait almost 1hr before getting our dinner. going to dine in a restaurant the likes of kesar i do expect a minimum level of service but was left very disapointing. wait staff unprofessional. no groming standard using phone in the restaurant as if they are the guest. upon sitting at the table the waiter gave us the menue and left , he did not offer any drink . then came after 7 or 8 minutes to take the food order and the drink at the same time when we gave our order we were not ask our preference if you like your dishes to be spicy mild etc. vegetable pakoras were very salty.and all main courses we had as well. food quality is very poor and the service in the restaurant also

I had a very bad experience at Kesar Flacq. I ordered and had to wait for more than 30 mins to receive the order. They even forgot to bring in the starters. When I asked, then the waiters began to discuss among themselves saying that there was starters ordered on this table and that starters should have been brought first before the main course. The other waiter replied. "I don't know anything about your order. I was not the one who took your order. This is what I got from the kitchen to serve". We even ordered Salad which was not served with the main course. I had to ask and then the salad was brought. Finally, we had to cancel the starters because it was at that time that they were going to prepare them, which means that we have to wait more. We even brought a birthday cake for my mum and had to take it back home without cutting it 🥲 because the atmosphere was not welcoming at all. And the waiters and manager were not sorry at all for the whole situation. Instead the manager was arguing as to why I was even bringing the matter to him. I should also highlight that the receipt they provide at the restaurant does not make mention of any BRN number and VAT number. Disappointed.

We went for lunch and the place was dirty. Table and cutlery were not clean. We found a very dried piece of pineapple on the floor, god knows for how it has been on the floor! Dirty chairs! Slow service. Lack of professionalism! Overall, this place needs big improvements.

Good food, not expensive, beautiful and clean place. The Afghani chicken as a starter is a must try. The Goan fish is too good. And the cheese naan is really yummy.

I have being to experience the Indian food but from the welcoming to end it was really a bad experience firstly when we can just arrived a lady working into the shop downstairs requested to have our vaccination card even from our parties some of the member did the four dose and just say the dinning room is upstairs when we went upstairs the service team just pointed us the table where he should accompany us to the table as we have been to several Indian over the island as well abroad it need to have a hostess with Indian outfits.With Regards there was kids in our group we asked if possible can have fried rice or noodles for the kids the waiter said no without giving us any options and said it's a indian restaurant we don't serve noodles but when you see the decor still decorated with bamboo which is the Chinese culture waited one hour to be served even with child the placemat on the table is torn and dirty need proper cleaning. No managers came to take any feedback during the dinner. We ordered paneer makhani and paneer labardar when it came the texture and the taste was the same really bad experience with unexpected levels of hospitality. Need lots of improvement for the food quality and service

We went on 14th, ordered Chilli Paneer, Crispy Corn asked them to put extra chillies loved it 😋 ordered Muttun Kebab, and Chicken lollipop very delious. I would Recommend. Will return again. 2nd return food good but service was very slow got the Lamb rogan josh but by time paratha came 20 mins later curry had gone cold. They did not seem to care, until we refused to pay. 3rd Visit 26th was as good as the first, delicious food and good service. Must depend on days of the week.

Kesar Indian Restaurant is not worth your time and money for sure. The traffic is very high and the service is really poor. The food is not good at all especially for Indians coming from India. I tried several vegetarian dishes and all were waste as I spent around Rupees 2900. Garlic Naan is the only thing nice but no gravy to go with. Avoid at all costs!

Had dinner with my family today felt disappointed poor service wait 45 minutes to get my food. Food tasteless and overpriced for what i was expected. I try to explain the manager how the service is poor and the food is not according how Indian food should taste like but he didn’t even take my words into consideration. If you open restaurant like that try to give your staff proper training about customers care as we paying to eat. Really disappointed ☹️

Food got lot of artificial color that makes it looks good but on taste it is not much. Green chutney is really good u must try with kabab. Service is good and quick. I also tried indian masala tea which was perfect. Please don't add color to food else restro is good

I’ve been to Kesar twice and it has honestly been a forgettable experience. The cold-hearted service leaves a weird taste in your mouth even before the food lands on the table. The food is average with the best thing being the dal makhani and cheesy naan. It was around 20.45 on a Friday night. We were a party of 7 people with vegetarians and meat-eaters both. The restaurant wasn’t full and a small birthday party was going on in a corner. We ordered drinks asap but it took them more than 20 minutes to serve us (after we reminded them). One sad basket of complimentary broken-up papad was in the middle of the table with 3 chutneys that seemed quite watered down. It seriously confused us when our starters and mains arrived almost simultaneously. We had also ordered a Mix Bar platter but the lamb in there was quite tough - it could almost pass off as mutton. We had a kadhai paneer, baigan Madrasi, Patiala fish curry, chicken coconut curry and dal makhni. Some of them felt on the sweeter side but the chicken curry was pretty good. Various types of naan and rice were ordered. Naan could be charred more. We had a side of Kashmiri pulao but the nuts and dried fruits were missing, so it wasn’t authentic. Quite disappointing. We were also served a lady fingers dish that wasn’t ours. Service management was not well executed on that night. We were asked once if everything was alright - sure we had the food and all but you can see that there’s no passion at all for the food, for welcoming customers and for creating a good ambience. Not willing to go back.

Good food and service for dine ine but do not order for pickup as they never prepare your food when you call. They only start preparing your food when you reach there. Be prepared to wait a longg time if you order for pickup.

First time visiting the place. The staffs were welcoming and very helpful. Service was very nice and waiters were very well mannered. 👌 The place also is very clean and cosy atmosphere and well lit. Only thing that is a bit odd is that sink/washbasin location, it is located outside the toilets and kind in the dinning area, so you have everyone looking at you when washing your hands 🙄 As for food, it wasn't as expected. Starters were good but main course's tasted a bit odd. They weren't that bad but weren't that good also, for example the butter chicken had an overpowering taste of cardamon and didn't really have the butter chicken taste or even color. This was my personal experience 🙂

Kesar is the place to be if you want to spend a wonderful time with your family or friends. I've been to there with my family and it was one of my greatest experience ever in an Indian Restaurant. Food was really delicious. From its starters till its main course, everything was so yummy😋😋. The staffs were very nice and gave us a warm welcome. Cannot wait to revisit kesar once again.❤️❤️

The staff's were not friendly at all and after giving order for lunch we have to wait for more than 35 minutes. Moreover, the air conditioner is just for decoration. Portion size is very less compared to other restaurants, I would suggest that go to the McD chain which is just opposite to them; It will be nice.. Horrible Experience.

Been there twice recently. Nice ambience. Food is very much like the typical indian food. Not very noisy or crowded. One can have a comfortable conversation. Staff not very courteous but they are ok.

Although the food is great but the service quality is one of the worst. Restaurant time shows as open till 2:30 , but we were not let in at 1:45 as kitchen closes at 2 and that too on a Saturday. So 2:30 pm is when staff wants to go home and not for us, customer experience is a joke! Not the first time though, this behavior is consistent.

Tasty indian food, spot on starters, great comfort and venue

Place is wonderful for first time visit. As for food experience, it was quite poor. The rice was overcooked and we could see the burnt seeds. We were not even informed if it was to our taste or proposed to do another. I would definitely not recommend. Parking space also appears quite limited for the grandeur of the restaurant. On a good note, 1 waiter was very kind and eased our eating experience.

The service was terrible and the food was nothing special. It was really disappointing because the decor was actually quite nice and I had high expectations. Of course, other dishes that I didn't order might have been nice but seriously, I don't understand how an Indian restaurant could possibly mess up something as simple as daal. And they should really use less yogurt. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll ever be going back there.
