Been there for a business lunch.... the service was excellent.... has a large variety of soft drinks ...alcoholic drinks ...menu ...even for take away...... a cosy place for lunch or dinner out

I hadn't been there in over a decade possibly, and then went in 2017. I had a Corn soup, Calamar croustillant, Chicken fried rice as well as some Grilled fish back then - I can remember them being on par with most Chinese restaurants on the island. I went again a few months ago, and this time ordered Crispy beef which was yummy, and for mains went for Egg-fried rice, Camarons au beurre d'ail and Pekin chicken. They were all delicious, although I have had better elsewhere, hence the 4 star rating. Service was good, as although there were large groups of people, we were given the attention we deserved, although food did take a long time to reach us.

Mouth watering!!! We have eaten Chinese food in a few countries and to be honest it's not a favorite...but the food at Chez Manuel was a delicious meal and we loved it. This should definitely be a must see in Mauritius. The host was incredible and again the food was phenomenal!

Dear Mr Manuel, have been coming to your restaurant for over 30 years but recently have been very disappointed with the service, food quality and portion. I don't know where it's going wrong but its high time to bring back the cook who used to serve us delicious food. The way the quality is going down, it's not long before some other restaurant will take over all your clients. Good luck.

The service has gown drastically down! Practically no people for lunch time and still the staff took all the time to bring food. Like as if they are strolling in a garde. A FREAKING HOUR TO GET FOOD! also when raised concern the staff - who was full OF SWEAT! looked super unprofessional- was rude and said that there were no vegetables! As if she went to pluck vegetables from a garden. The service/staff is WORSE THAN EVER. They ruined the good reputation of this restaurant. Dissapointed. Never again. Management: fire your staff and get better ones, all they do is gossip, not even looking professional

Had a bad experience at chez manuel. The service is so low. The workers take a lot of time to bring the food. The portion and the taste is not worth it. Soup was very spicy. Fried noodles was too oily. Lamb was too salty.

I had alway heard great food about this restaurant. However, upon being there, I was quite disappointed. Covid wise, the waitress did not wear a mask while serving us. Then, the food was the let down. It was oily, the portion was less than adequate for the price. The chicken had crushed bones with its meat. The fried rice was like any fried rice you get from a smaller snack restaurant. In sum it was not so good. I would not recommend.

The cucumber salad was great, with subtle flavours, the satay chicken was nice with a nice peanut flavour, and we tried the stuffed chilli's with fish after recommendation from the waiter, which was unique and tasty. For mains, we had read that the upside down rice dish with shrimp and chicken was a must, and it did not disappoint. We were also recommended the fried noodles, which again was great. It was alot of food, all very tasty, and at a reasonable price. As mentioned before, we travelled a fair distance for this, but would happily go again. Manuel is understaffed, they took about 45 mins to bring us our food. We have ordered grilled prawns but instead they gave us fried prawns and when we raised the issue in the front, they just looked at us and did nothing. Very bad customer service.
