    I followed horse racing since I was ten years old. I knew Native Rock Cymbal winning the Duchess. Winged Pharaoh breaking the mile record. Prodigal with more than 50 victories breaking Tommy Boy record . WoodLeigh was horse the year with 6 victories but two records. Demdyke won the maiden and the Coupe du Cent cinquantenaire. Now I am 67 years old .

    If you are a tourist and like horse racing, you should visit this place on a racing day. The season starts in march and ends in december with 34-38 race meetings. A huge croud gathers at Champ de Mars every weekend. Entrance ticket is around Rs 100 for men and free for women and children.

    Home of mauritian horse racing since 200 years. Good organisation for guests, sponsors and members. Old but nice location with v.good atmosphere with high society of the island.

    Oldest horse racecourse in the Southern Hemisphere. Right turn. 1 lap 1300m or 6 ½ furlongs. Maximum starters 11. Racing season end of March to mid December. Training every week days from 5am to 7:30am.

    Absolutely fabulous. The Northfield Cricket Club booked the Governer's box and I took a step back in time to a golden era when women wore hats and men were gallant and rowdy. Racing was efficient, televised and huge fun.
