Beautiful beyond words, having a guide that works at the park makes the experience more rewarding

Beautiful gardens well set out. Tour guide was funny & informative. However, we were told cost of Guided Tour was 75Rs, when we paid the Guide at the end he said it wasn’t enough & we should pay what we would expect to pay in the UK!

This is an unusual botanic garden, famous for its long pond of giant water lilies and also featuring spices, sugar canes, palms etc. Tourist guide was interesting and funny. Even tough we are fans of swimming and enjoying sun on the beach, I would definitely recommend you to visit this place. Mosquito protection would be very useful to have. You can plan for 1.5-2 hours to spend here.

A fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon. The gardens are very well kept and the wide selection of different plants from around the world is very impressive. I highly advise paying the 75rs for the guided tour, it's really helps to get the most out of the gardens. The guide we had was funny and informative and without the guide I think it would be far too easy to rush around and not get much out of it.

A veritable sea of flowers in full color awaits you in the Botanical Garden of Mauritius. Giant water lilies, liverwurst trees and palm trees that only bloom once in 30 to 80 years. In total there are around 80 different types of palm trees, the Talipot palm grows for 30 to 80 years, blooms once and then unfortunately dies. I booked a guide who conveniently led us through the beautiful botanical garden. Unfortunately I forgot his name, but I would still like to thank him very much!

Feb24- Inexpensive to enter (300Rps) but expensive vs Mauritian fee!. A wonderful place which you can self guide to walk round ( I recommend) Fascinating species and places to stop, see monuments and kiosks (verandah) to sit under for rain/sun. Toilets too. Giant tortoise (from Seychelles and indigenous made extinct) and deer pens also. Hint: Guides want to maximise tours. You might start as a pair (like we did) but they collect people, even if other languages needed. Smart of them, but makes for a different experience, and waiting for "your language". We felt a bit cheated. We only realised near start so decided to self guide and had a great experience anyway... More relaxed. With map easy. Lots of tar roads going down. Recommend.

It is one of popular tourist attraction near Port Louis, capital of Mauritius. It is one of the oldest botanical garden in Mauritius. You can see tree, ponds with water lilies. It is one of the cool place to visit specially in summer season of Mauritius.

Unfortunately not worth to go there! It’s sold as a must see in every tour guide but has seen the best times for a long time. They are trying to sell a tour trough, but u don’t need it. Very much Moskitos, so be prepared against them. Better to book a lodge in the Mountains and go there out for a Nature adventure, for example Ferney Nature Lodge

Wonderful park … special plants and also a few animals (deers and turtles). A guide is a good chance and does not cost much. You need approximately one hour with the guide. Very interesting are the huge water lily leaves in a huge pond. A water lily leaf like this can hold up to 50 kilograms without sinking!

It is the very old botanical garden of Mauritius. It was made in the memory of independence of Mauritius. There is wide range of veritas of tress brought here from Africa, India and whole over the world. It is not like you have seen the other botanical gardens having flowers and other stuff. But worth for visit. Good place for visit.

You can easily complete your tour without stepping here but it is one of better known to locals garden. Plenty of green space, picnic areas and a large children's playground. They may not have huge swings but loads of space for children to run around safely. It is most welcome stopover from Trou au cerfs, the volcano, where they no longer allow you to picnic. A little tip from the locals is to be aware there is a back entrance that has ample parking space. You did not hear it from me. ;)

A beautiful tropical paradise. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been in! This is definitely something to tick off on your travel list. I had a wonderful experience, customer service at the gate was amazing. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, pack your water and a snack bar. I’d advise to apply some inspect repellant. Go early so that you can spend more time exploring and savouring the gardens

Beautiful and very big botanic garden. Lots of beautiful trees and palms to see. Definitely I would recommend taking a tour guide (They are a little pushy to take in the entrance, but it is totally worth it the 75 Mauritian Rupees = around 2 euros). It will take you around 1 hour with a tour guide. Most of them speak English and French. I totally recommend it.

Really nice Botanical Garden, enjoyed visiting and walking around. We did go in the off season so didn't see as many flowers and fruits etc which was our fault and I think as it was the off season they were doing some refurbishment. Definitely worth visiting, we didn't take the guide which may have given us some insight but it is also possible to do it without a guide using the map.

Not as well maintained as earlier. The big koi fish in the ponds are long gone. The trees are neglected and the marshy patches at the entrance need to be cleaned. Have a visit though to keep in touch with what once used to be the top garden in Mauritius for the deer and tortoise.

My wife and I went here on a Wednesday. We arrived around 10:45 and there was no queue for tickets, which cost 300 rupees each. Ask for a map as there is one map board that we could find just after entering, maybe a photo to navigate your way around. Nice water lilly flowers on tall stems, see photos, otherwise its various trees and spice and medicinal plants. We were hoping for more exotic colourful flowers. You can see large tortoises and deer in pens. We were here for around 2hrs.

It was disappointing. I was here 8yrs ago and a few times before that and expected the garden to be as pristine as I remembered it to be. Instead, I was met with a clearly neglected garden. Although a cyclone had hit the country a few weeks before, it was obvious that the cyclone was not the main reason for the eye sore. Some of the smaller waterways/canals were completely obscured with grass. About 75% or more of whole garden needed proper grooming. Some of the water features/ponds appear to not have been scrubbed for years nor replenished with water as evidenced by the dried water marks on the side of the inner walls. Foreign nationals are charged Rs300 while locals get in for a mere Rs25. There were lots of foreigners when we visited. We left somewhat disappointed with our exposed legs full of mosquito bites. My tip is to definitely wear mosquito repellent. It's a bit too hot to walk around in long pants. Oh, the garden is very pram friendly. On the positive, some of the main walkways appear to have recently been re-tarred... Hopefully this is the beginning of a clean up project to bring the garden to its former glory.

This should be on your itinerary if you're a nature lover. Beautifully displayed plants and trees in a very serene and well planned garden. The staff however is extremely eager to go home by 5pm, so get there early. There were no guides on site, maybe because it was a Sunday... so I can't comment on how the guided tour is.

Cool quiet garden with easy access, limited parking space. Opens around 6am and Closes around 7pm. Paying toilet available. Kiosk and various bench and table for picnics. Crossed by two small streams but as always Mauritian need to do prayers at every river and left the stuff there! Petangue place available. A lot of mosquitoes so bring your cream. Kids playground also available.

An interesting botanical garden with many trees and plants and animals and birds. Well worth a visit, if only to see the amazing large waterlilies in the gardens. We spent around three hours at the gardens and enjoyed a quiet amble across various sites within the grounds.

Very nice place very well managed. I suggest to visit with a guide in order to get info about the different types of trees and varieties. Very nice also for children as there are some fish, sheeps and turtles inside. To visit all the place it takes something around 2 hours. Very suggested, if I remember well the cost is something around 15 € per person.

The SSR botanical garden is located in Pamplemousses, roughly 10 km northeast of the capital Port Louis and is absolutely worth a visit no matter which part of the island you are staying. Spending time to look around the beautiful tropical gardens was a highlight of my trip to Mauritius and I would thoroughly recommend it to all. The long pond of giant water lilies is a breathtaking wow moment upon sight. The elegant lotus flowers are also incredibly beautiful. There are countless varieties of palms and many other exotic trees and plants. Fascinating also is seeing how different spices grow. As the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere, Pamplemousses Botanic Garden is a real treasure.

So many people visit Mauritius and stay close to their beach hotel. Such a shame to miss out on this beautiful country. The botanical gardens at Pamplemousse ( also known as the above ) are an absolute joy. Easy to park, inexpensive to enter and a large lush area to explore and delight in. The gardens are a riot of colour, scents and textures and hold some amazing species of plant life. There are also birds aplenty , giant tortoise and deer to see. I recommend using one of the official guides, yes they cost you a few extra quid but well worth the money as they will explain all the flora and fauna as you go round and ensure you get the most from your visit. Their knowledge will enrich you. Please, I implore you, if you only make one trip out choose this one along with seeing the Capital ( to get a real feel of the culture and daily lifestyle). Enjoy!

The botanical garden in Mauritius could improve its efforts in maintaining the plants, especially the famous water lily pond where the water appears milky, and some plants seem to be struggling. It's essential to acknowledge that these plants have been allowed to grow naturally in their own space. However, there are some magnificent old trees with beautifully surfaced roots. During my visit, I spotted ducklings on the pond and observed some animals from a distance. Unfortunately, there were no labels on the trees, but a map was provided to us when we purchased our tickets, guiding us throughout the trip. The garden offers a large compound, making it an ideal place for a 1-2 hour leisurely walk if you have spare time.

Enjoyed my visit. Compared to other botanical gardens I’ve visited it’s not in the best condition and lacking a bit in signage. However it makes up for that in character and history. I loved the trees planted by some of the most iconic people in history. Wish I had taken a guide as I think with a bit of inside knowledge it would have enhanced the experience. We got it the site fairly early but it was really busy by the time we left.

I love visiting botanical gardens in any country that I travel to. This one didn’t disappoint. It is well kept with a wide variety of plants. We took a guided tour which was ok, but we felt they fool you into thinking that you will be guided with a small group but then they take you to a larger group and the guide was switching between English and French all the time. Don’t see why they couldn’t just keep the group smaller and one language. Also the guide was damaging plants which we felt was just unnecessary.

If you have seen other botanical gardens then this will not impress you mich. But it is a very nice walk of you are in Mauritius. In about 2 hours you will have seen everything. Nice ponds and turtles to see. No coffee or restaurants in the garden. 200 rupee per person, bring cash the card reader did not work when we were there.

We visited this botanical garden without much expectations but it was really nice. A great collection of exotic plants and trees from around the world. If you are visiting Mauritius or nearby the North side of the island this is definitely a great place to enjoy endemic trees. Some of them aged more than 150 years like the Talipo. Don’t miss the lotus and the water lily ponds.

Beautiful Gardens, very easy to get to by car or bus, with lots of parking. You have the option of a tour guide to explain the different plants. But you can do it on your own. The parks entrance price is very cheap, and it boasts animals and an old French style manor.

One of must to see places in Mauritius. Entry fee is small and guide is a must (additional small fee). What was a bit annoying is that obviously guide (and most signs in garden) know better French and tend to make group as large as possible. So not much of personalized service. On the end from 4 people we were 15 and 90% of information were given only in French. For that 2 stars down. For garden it self... Amazing and grandiose, on the end with Turtles and deers. Beautiful flowers, you can see some very rare and with smelling of spices from leaves just felt for m cinnamon etc. trees. Also fruit bats were nice surprise.

Nice park and lots to see here. We got caught in a heavy storm and found the huts Some of the gardens roofs are quite old and falling apart. Other than that they have really unique and interesting specimens all over the park. Price was 200rs for a tourist which is a little steep for a family to go in a park. Locals have free access on Sundays or 25rs which is very reasonable.

Botanical Garden is the place to visit when you get tired of seeing islands and beaches in Mauritius. It's really cool to see different types of plants and animals like deer, tortoise etc. They charge a little for entry fee but it's okay. And they have small tender coconut shops in case you get dry from sunlight 🥥.

This is a large botanic gardens that is (sadly) showing its age. At the entrance you will be greeted by guides who want you to allow them to guide your tour. We opted to go it alone and rely on the map and our eyes. Overhearing some of the other guides, we made the right choice for us. The range of trees is impressive and the lily ponds are beautiful. The rectangular pond with giant lily pads is fascinating and there are lots of large dragonflies to be seen here. The monuments to heads of state and royalty that have visited the gardens provides an insight into the importance of these events to a relatively small nation. The medical garden is somewhat run down - maybe a sponsored research project to re-invigorate this area would be a lovely idea as the importance of plant life to the medical industry is easily overlooked. Having animals on display in the garden is not to my taste, but I can understand that they will be a draw for visitors. The gardens requires some serious work to bring it up to world class standard: a lot more signs identifying specimens, more flowering plants, repairs to the structures especially the large lily with bridges and decorative water feature next to the Chateau. As the oldest botanic gardens in the southern hemisphere these gardens deserve some investment and improvement. Worth visiting as they are beautiful, spacious and provide a good insight into the plants of the region and further afield.

The SSR Botanical Garden was one of the places we visited during our tour of the North of the island. The Garden is a huge premise of various plant species with tags stating their Botanical names and origins. The Garden also had a few pools and ponds and some animals like birds, ducks and swans, and antelopes. There is a gate fee of 300 rupees before given access to the Garden but its totally worth the experience. There were several groups having picnics across the Garden but in general, the garden is quite quiet and very peaceful. The perfect atmosphere for meditation 🧘‍♀️. There are also a few structural models within the garden and toilets at several strategic points. In all the experience is amazing and I'm looking forward to it some other time.

While it was great seeing all the tropical plants, the deer and tortoises. I do not believe the upkeep of the place is what it should be, there was quite a bit of waste(food wraps and bottles) along side the entry/exit, the grass does not seem well maintained, the walking paths could do with some clearing. I was really looking forward to the visit, really hope they do something about it.

Very disappointing and unremarkable. Considering the entry fee, one imagines a well-kept garden, but it was very poorly maintained. The walking paths are uneven and have pot-holes, the plant signage is faded or missing, the garden itself is very unimpressive. It has a lot of potential as there is such a large expanse of garden, it'd be great to see it properly looked after. The highlights were the giant lily pads and the animals (deer and tortoises). Guided tours are available.

A fantastic garden with plenty to see, ranging from animals to rare flora. As the signage is being worked on continuously, make sure to take a guide. It takes you an hour to walk across the premises and is loads of fun! Definitely worth seeing even if you are not this-kind-of-a-place person. Interesting to see the rare trees that you only know a fruits or nuts of, being a european.

Very peaceful. The garden holds a big part of the Mauritian history being the place where the botanist Pierre Poivre had lived in. The latter was the one who introduced spices to the country and he created the botanical garden.

From reading the reviews we learned that we should get a guide. I think it's really worth the 100 Rs ($3 USD) splurge (per person). Entrance is 200 Rs for foreign visitors. Our guide took us all over the botanical garden and introduced all sorts of exotics plants and trees to us. There were funny "mother-in-law's tongue" tree leaf as well as spa smelling trees where the guide gave us the leaves to smell. Unfortunately a lot of the trees and plants are a little sick, they could probably use more funding if you have a few extra bucks. Really pleasant to walk around and the famous Lily pond is just gorgeous. Coming from North America, this botanical garden is totally worthwhile as it has a lot of exotic plants I've never seen before. Extremely clean bathrooms! Get a guide.

April is probably not the best month to visit the gardens as not many things are in flower but we did enjoy our trip. The gardens have a great variety of trees and plants and are very attractive to walk around. One should get there early to avoid the rush. 90 minutes to 2 hours is more than enough time to get round the gardens. Not a good idea to sit or stand still for too long as the mosquitos will give you a few souvenirs. One thing that I think is pretty bad is the advert saying that a guide costs 50 Rupees per person for 1-4 people. This is not the case. We started walking with a guide and he then told us that it would be 400 Rupees each. They do not want to work unless they have big groups to guide. It's pretty disgusting. Sure.. charge 400 but don't then advertise that it is 50. See one of my pictures for the price list. Worth a visit but don't get ripped off.

The place is really nice. But its closed for renovations currently. Also there's a mall near by to properly prepare for a nice picnic in the garden.

A place to be if you love nature , fresh air. Tortoises and Deers available out there. Nice place to chill with family and friends.

Large park with monument towards the founding father of Mauritius. Good walking path with large trees. At the entrance we can get paid guides of required. A map of the park will be handed to us with the ticket. There is a small lotus and water Lilly pond. And a larger pond with ducks. There are numerous small streams running at the edges of the park. There is a tortoise enclosure and a deer enclosure. Overall a good place to visit with family and spend half a day.

Beautiful botanical garden with many tropical tree species. A peaceful lush green heaven where you can stroll independently around, enjoying the beauty of nature. You can also observe giant turtles and local deers, yet they are in enclosures (could be bigger IMO) which I do understand but I wish they could roam around the park freely. Also you might be lucky and observe some flying foxes, so cute 🥰 and be followed or guided by one of the park dogs (they are friendly and harmless but still don’t pet them). I would recommend a visit to anyone who enjoys nature generally.

Big and nice botanical garden. You can hire a guide for a low price, we chose to explore on our own. Some spots looked like they needed some tending. Saw lizards, birds, and of course the animals they keep there - deer and turtoises.

Due to Covid-19, and the total lock down, the Gardens is neglected and not so well maintained. Although it is still a great experience, I'm sure that it will improve as tourism pick up again

Ok for a stroll and some fresh air. Can be a bit spooky at dusk. Also stray dogs make running around a bit difficult. The parking at the back entrance is very convenient. Visit during the day for a much better experience.

I was so fortunate to have a clear, warm beautiful day in November to visit this amazing Botanical Garden. Situated in curepipe where most of time its raining there. I love to visit gardens in the cities when I travel and this was a real treat. This is a garden with a wide assortment of trees, shrubs and flowers 💐. Its so peaceful ✌. Good time to enjoy and relax. This is an enjoyable area to spend some time when you need a break. There is a parking lot with free parking, and the gardens are very nice and peaceful. Its so relaxing to sit near the lake . Highly recommended.

Big park, a lot of different trees, not that much flowers. We have been there after a cyclone and staff was still busy with cleaning the park. Worth to go there, 1,5 hours enough to see it all. At the entrance gate refreshments available. Toilets in the park.

Must see in Mauritius, beautiful botanical garden with exotic plants, and a tortoise farm. Entrance is 200 Mur / person for non residents (about $5USD) and free for residents. Plan to spend around an hour here. There is a restaurant near the exit and also some fruit stands where you can buy fresh fruit, juice or water. Parking is free.

  • 2/5 Petr O. 2 years ago on Google
Nice park, but not sure why is it called a botanical garden. Almost no plan has any description whatsoever. There are lines of plants of different politicians - even those do not have the plant name nor any other description. Anything related to Mauritius endemics is totally missing. :-( When you set your expectations extremely low, you will find a nice park.

  • 5/5 Omar C. 2 years ago on Google
Unreal. Needs to be better maintained. It's a wonder how do many beautiful species of trees cannot generate enough care to keep it up to date. Thank God he takes care of his babies when we don't!

You can cover the whole grounds in about 2 hours of walking. Or opt for a guide, which will offer themselves to you at the entrance for 75 Rs (less than 2€). They offer to show you the best spots of the gardens in 1hour. The standard adult entry fee is 200 Rs (4.5€).

  • 5/5 Priyanka L. 1 year ago on Google
This is a beautiful garden and absolutely MUST be done with a tour guide. All seemed friendly and our guy was fantastic, it was 75 rupees per person which is a great price and are able to explain a lot more than if we walked around.

We've visited this park hoping to see the water lilies, as many people reviewing this botanical garden in here with a photos of water lilies. It was disappointing to find out water lilies are in another botanical garden located on the North side of the island. In this botanical garden there are some nice plants and a pond with mosquitos, but not a sign of waterlilies. If you are after water lilies save your time, we checked everywhere in this park and only got bitten by mosquitos. It is still a nice place to see so it is a 5 stars from me.

  • 5/5 Valentina Nica (. 1 year ago on Google
You must take a guide with you to explain what you are seeing, otherwise it would be just a walk in the park. They show you spices trees and tell you lots of great stories in a 1h tour. Really amazing garden. We saw for the first time how spices trees look like, smell their leaves, learn how they got to be planted here on the island, saw the lotus.

Big open area botanical garden. We got a guide to help us with the garden. The tour was mega fast as our guide tried to include a lot on info and plants along the way. The downside is that you don't really have a lot of time to see stuff, however after your tour is finished, you can go back. Overall, the place is nice to see.

Easy to find, large free car park. Reasonable priced. Lovely to wander round, beautiful plants, lots of birdlife and bats. Guides available at entrance, and although we did not have one, the ones we passed seemed knowledgeable and engaging. Take your own drinks as nowhere inside the gardens to buy one although there are stands at car park entrance. Toilets were not pleasant.

Absolutely beautiful gardens. One if the highlights of my trip to Mauritius. It is a must. We'll worth having a guide. Could have spent longer wandering around looking at the flora and fauna. The animals were a bonus.

Finding the location of this place was a breeze, and the parking was free and spacious which made it all the more convenient. The entrance fee was reasonable, and to top it off, we were lucky enough to have a guide who spoke five different languages! It was quite impressive to say the least. If you're not well-versed in plants and their characteristics, I'd recommend getting a tour guide as there are many fascinating details that you might miss otherwise. During my visit, I was particularly interested in seeing the giant water lilies, and I must say, they were truly stunning. In addition to that, there were deers and tortoises that added to the charm of the place. All in all, I had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you're ever on the beautiful island of Mauritius. In conclusion, the convenience of finding the location, ample parking, reasonable entrance fee, and the opportunity to have a knowledgeable guide who speaks multiple languages made the experience even more enjoyable. The giant water lilies, deers, tortoises, and ducks were just the icing on the cake. Don't miss out on this gem if you're ever in Mauritius!

Lovely place. Quite big. My husband has limited walking. We were told we could hire a buggy to go round but one was not available so a guide told us a route to see some of the best bits with as little walking as possible. Nice place. Quiet. Fantastically big lily pads in one pond. We came on a private tour.

Very nice botanical garden with a wide tropical plant collection. They also have a small zoo-corner with deers and giant tortoise. We have visited rhe park in June on a weekday, so off the season and there were only a couple of other people, so I could make great videos as well with no people in the background. Don’t forget your mosquito repellent, there are a lots of them even during the day! I have seen the biggest Ficus elastica tree here in my life, even greater than ficus trees on Madeira island. This place is mandatory to visit, if you are a plant lover.

Well, premium visa they don’t take as residente. And it’s pretty much forgotten there inside No more installation, gates, information of new trees etc. but it’s nice to walk there once

As a tourist visiting this place, my family and I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot about plants. Thanks to our excellent guide, Akher, who was extremely nice, knowledgeable and funny. He was joking with us all the time and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend visiting this place with a guide.

Nice botanical garden with a diversity of trees and water plants. The garden is definitely worth a visit, although it is obviously better in spring than in their winter as we did. The giant water lillies and lotus flowers are always in bloom and are definitely worth a visit. Be sure to bring your umbrella and mosquito spray!!!

  • 3/5 Yuliya 8 months ago on Google
Beautiful botanical garden in the Northwest side of the island. We were able to catch the waterlillies blooming. Most plants have signs in front of them with their names which was useful too. We joined a group that was touring as there are guides in the park. One thing to mention is that they do not give you back change when you pay them. We were very satisfied with ours as he told us the tour would be around 40-50 minutes and it lasted twice as much. It was very slow, but not because he gave thorough descriptions, but because he would be joking with the group which was often unnecessary. So definitely bring smaller bills if you're going to use the guides or rather just go without one. Overall, we liked the garden, but not the services provided.

  • 4/5 Patricia L. 8 months ago on Google
A must see. I always enjoy my visits there - such a quiet and beautiful place. I wish they would call an expert to take care of the waterlilies though. They are world-renowned but are in a pretty much sad state.

Varieties of plants and trees planted from different countries and beautiful garden to explore. Need maxi 3 hours to roam around and see different types of these plants and trees and their beauty. Better visit during weekdays to avoid crowd and tickets are easily available at the ticket counter.

A beautiful botanical garden - the only minus is no interaction with turtles - which was a bit disappointing. The deer were cute though. The entrance costs 300Rs. Worth taking a guide for 75Rs extra.

Nice Botanical Gardens. We took the option of going around the gardens with a guide. I wouldhighly recommend it. The guide we had was excellent. Well informed on the various plants and trees and made the whole trip entertaining and fun.

Gorgeous garden! The guides are recommended and not expensive. If you are patient and look out for gecko's in the trees you'll find them. Also a great place to find the fruit bars relaxing in the tops of large trees.

Great place for a relaxing walk along the nature. Many endemic trees. Nice even paths (we were with stroller). Unfortunately some descriptions with tree names are unreadable. Beside that great experience!

Beautiful 😍.. flora, fauna from all tropical islands.. with local guides on hand to take you around the gardens.. be prepared to look to the skies carefully when you hear what sounds like birds... it might just be something else ... 🤩

An amazing botanical garden. I can highly recommend it. I would suggest bringing an umbrella if it is cloudy, because then it tends to rain. I rate this a 5 star, but even with the map of the botanical garden, we still found it hard to navigate. There are not enough signs to show directions to various attractions and the exits.

I had the incredible opportunity to visit the botanical garden in Mauritius, and I was absolutely captivated by the beauty of the plants and surroundings. The garden is a true paradise for nature enthusiasts, featuring an astonishing variety of plant species from around the world. The well-maintained pathways allowed me to leisurely explore the vibrant colors and lush greenery. From towering palm trees to delicate orchids, every corner of the garden showcased the richness of botanical diversity. The serene ambiance and the harmonious blend of tropical scents make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you're a plant lover or simply seeking a tranquil retreat, the botanical garden in Mauritius is an absolute must-visit.

Lovely park with delightful paths amongst a wealth of beautiful trees. You can walk around the park in about an hour but east to also spend longer. However, you can’t get refreshments in the garden itself.

  • 2/5 Henrik K. 7 months ago on Google
This park could be so beautiful but unfortunately it is very poorly maintained. Signs are unreadable, trash cans are overflowing and so on. We were quite disappointed as the park had been listed as a must see when in Mauritius.
