Acceptable but not amazing. Worth a quick visit but if you want a better beach then go further north towards Pointe Choisy Public Beach.

Underrated beach, great snorkeling spot with clear sea. Unfortunately speed boats are a pest at certain times of the day, should ban them in the lagoon!!

Nice beach with some good shades. Good spot for snorkeling. There are plenty of fishes to observe. It's not too great for swimming as there are plenty of corals. If you want to swim then you should swim in the swimming areas in front of the hotels

Sea & beach does a good job here. Mauritius tourism authority fails miserably with trash collection. Sums up the island really.

Quiet Public beach in a remote region. Not crowded.Nice for a dip.You can also arrange for a boat or speed boat ride.Shady quiet place. This place is very near to some good hotels of Balaclava.Toilets and a water point has not been provided.

Small, not very well maintained beach. It has a nice mountain view but it's neglected even by the hotels.

Lovely walk along the beach & certain areas still cleaning up from the earlier cyclone, before the next was moving past!

It's a bit rough underfoot, with a lot of dead coral. Other than that, pleasant enough.

It is a quiet beach very close to a lot of 5 star resorts. Looks good for snorkelling, not great for swimming. There is some sand and a tree area. Great little food shop Sunset Cabanne where you can get traditional Mauritian foods. Lots of parking and there are bbq pits so you could have a bbq there. Only downside is no public toilet.

Beautiful sea, but you will see some garbage on the beach and the sea.

Dirty public beach and surrounding areas, full of scattered trash. Such a shame, the beach itself is beautiful. There are parking spaces and some trees for shade. No public toilet.

Lovely place to snorkel Get your own chairs though as only one large tree to sit and picnic under Public beach nested between two resorts Best sunset in mauritius

Today my holiday in paradise was tainted. My memories of Balaclava beach are of sadness ... A poor dog lay dying on the grass underneath the trees. Locals parking cars & almost reversing over this poor animal made me horrified. Mauritius has a terrible problem with strays & unfortunately for this poor pooch he has no chance ... There was litter, plastic bottles cans & paper everywhere as we approached the beach. So very disappointed, cried my eyes out & totally ruined my afternoon. Cant get that image out of my mind 🐶😥😢

Nice quiet beach, great for a long walk. Sand quite course in places and rocky. You can swim but might need swim shoes although Snorkeling was great.

Ok beach. Was staying at Ravenala Hotel and decided to go for a walk. 15 minutes. The water itself was clear and appeared cleaned. There were quite a few snorkellers there. The beach itself had a lot of rubbish flying around.

Balaclava Public Beach is a beautiful and popular beach located on the northwest coast of Mauritius, in the village of Balaclava. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The beach is ideal for swimming and sunbathing and is a popular destination for families, couples, and solo travelers. The calm and shallow waters make it a great place for children to swim and play safely. The beach is also a popular spot for water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Balaclava Public Beach is relatively less crowded compared to other beaches on the island, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Visitors can rent umbrellas and beach chairs or simply bring their own and enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. The beach also offers a range of amenities such as showers, restrooms, and changing facilities. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and scenic views, providing a perfect backdrop for taking photographs or simply soaking up the natural beauty of the area. The beach is located close to several restaurants and cafes, offering a range of dining options and refreshments. Overall, Balaclava Public Beach is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Mauritius. Its stunning beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and range of activities and amenities make it an ideal place to spend a day or two relaxing by the sea.

Balaclava public beach is a real gem 💎 that’s secluded from the main road. It’s well worth visiting. Not the biggest stretch of beach or place to swim, but the water is beautiful and snorkelling can be easily done here.

Beach local to my parent's house. Took my dog for a walk and a swim late evening yesterday, only downside is that there's no public toilet there. Otherwise I love the place. 😍

It's ok, but nothing special. Sunset is boring there. Few people, you can buy fruits from local.shops. Trees right after the seeside. That's all.
