We enjoyed food and services. The food was not something special, bet everything was quite tasty. Portions are quite big. One and a half portion with one starter was enough for two of us. Pina colada was more creamy than in other places but very tasty.

I travel to India quite often, so I can confirm that you can get real Indian food here. Everything that we had was delicious and the prices are ok. However it is not spicy at all. So next time we have to ask to make it more spicy.

JAN 2023: After 3 years we were so excited to be able to return to one of our favourites, and if it was possible the food is even tastier! If 6 ⭐'s was possible I would give them happily, consistently good, definitely worth a visit. JAN 2020: Indian and traditional Mauritian cuisine, one of our favorites on the East coast, always a treat, friendly staff and great food.

Recently visited Symon's Restaurant for a birthday dinner. I was very disappointed with the whole experience with them. It took them almost 1hr30 min between our appetizer and main course. When I spoke with the owners/manager they claimed that it's due that the restaurant is busy. And also that they give the guest time between the appetizer and the main course. However, no one came to ask us if we are ready for the main course. In between, they also forgot 1 appetizer, which join 30 min later. The restaurant was indeed busy. But not fully occupied. Lots of kids running around and were loud. If you want a quiet dining experience it's not the place.. The food was not very tasty even though it's not cheap. I had better tasty food in other Mauritian Restaurants on the island. The seafood combo was not tasty at all. On the other hand, the waiters were polite and responsive. My review is purely based on genuine observations. And the people accompanying that day shared the same feedback. Definitely i won't go back.

We had dinner for the first time here. We passed by many times and finally we made it. I can't believe we only discovered it now. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The price of the food is a little more expensive than in other local restaurants. But the atmosphere levels it out again. However, the prices of the drinks are ridicules, for example a sparkling water costs the same as a beer! Wine is out of reach! I think this is because it's close to 5 stars hotels. A pity, but what can you do.

Great food, great people! We live in constance staff quarters, it's the only close restaurant with a wide menu. They also have a separate menu for trainees. Must visit if you're in belle mare!

We are staying at the nearby Solana Beach Hotel - It is a one minute walk to the restaurant and Symon’s offers beautiful food, we tried the fish fillet with fries and salad and also a lamb biriani. Absolutely superb! We will be back 🤩

The food here was delicious! A little slow to get to the table, but well worth the wait. We had the Tandoori prawns (Jheenga), Yello Dhaal, rice and naan and we were stuffed! I highly recommend it if you are in this part of the island. The staff were great and the restaurant was clean and tidy. There was free wifi too!

Located deep inside Belle Mare and is close to some water sports places. You will find no trouble finding a place to sit as the place was empty, the food was ok but the prices were abit exaggerated. Good for mauritian cuisine too.

A wow experience it was..saying that we felt at home is not enough. Being in the festive season we called them for reservations at the last minute for Christmas eve to book for a table of 5 person. As we were running late we called again to extend the arrival time by one hour to my surprise they agreed easily. Reaching there around 20h30 we were greeted by one of the staff and guided to our table which was located in a beautifully decorated corner. As it was off peak hours there were only 3 to 4 more tables occupied. Beautifull christmas decors, lighting and cool mix old and new music. The waiter is very kind and attentive he came to take our orders and also came to enquire if all good in between our meals. We too two starter their signature Crispy calamari ring and crispy marinated octopus. Having the first bite itself was enough, a very tender fleshy octopus crispy and spicy coating hot on the outside wow. They deserve a thumbs up. For the calamari ring it was a generous portion served very hot with some sweet chilly sauce. We took magic bowl each ss our main course. It was yummy not too dry with reasonable amount of sauce and ingredients. They eggs was beaten and fried dry the chicken was a bit less in quantity otherwise fair enough. Service is 5 * very rapid 5minutes or no waiting time at all. Price Is a bit high but okay I can understand as they are located on the coastal road next to solana hotel they are mostly tourist oriented and more likely a pub with outdoor seating and music. They also served beautiful shaked cocktails, indian cuisines with naan and curry you can see pictures of the menus I took and also menu card and the place itself. If you are looking for a lovely place in the east coast to dine in or simply for some drinks and snacks bites trust me this is the place. Just one mention and they cater for all your needs. Very good atmosphere and ambiance it suit birthday parties very well. No regrets

We visited symon as we were staying in a hotel near by. The food is absolutely delicious and the servers were so polite and helpful in explaining the menu. Price is so affordable. Definitely coming back!

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Ended up having the octopus curry, which smelled like crab for some reason. I think the white rum was probably a better pick. Good vibes overall. Waiters are polite.

Had some of the best Butter chicken ever, this restaurant knows how :) Robbie was a great host and shared a lot of information about Mauritius. The bathrooms and restaurant is super clean, almost too clinical. Friendly staff. Make sure you order Naan bread, delicious!

We wanted to get away from our resort and try something authentic — Symon‘s is the place for that! Excellent food, great service. Simply a real, heartfelt atmosphere at half the price of the starred hotels. Top notch! Try the Butter Chicken & Garlic Naan.

We are staying at a nearby hotel where the dinner price is about 4x the price of Symon’s dishes. And we ate like kings! Staff were friendly, music was great, service was quick and we had the most delicious butter chicken with naan.

We were told about Symon's while we had a car rented and down for the day at Blue Bay. Its a nice place near the Belle Mare Public beach. We called in early on a Sunday as we thought it would be busy with locals from the beach, but at 19.00 we were only the second couple to have a table. The meals are nice and hot, which after hotel buffet "cool" food was great. I managed all my fillet steak and fries, while my partner managed her fillet of fish.....just. I would say its a great little place next to a few high class hotels so can hold the prices a little high. I dont think many locals will visit unless a special occasion. Service was good and very friendly. They do do take away and Chinese take away as well. So if you are close in a villa or room its a good option than cooking.

The first time I ordered fried noodle with chicken, it came without chicken. I called to inform them about the mistake. No action. Today, I went to order two take away noodles. Waited for like 30 minutes. Nothing. Asked the girl at the counter, she seemed angry. After few mins inquired again, she sent her colleague in the kitchen. So much inquiry for 2 god damm fried noodles. We had to left the place.

Some of the best butter chicken I’ve ever had. If you need a break from the hotel buffet this definitely satisfies the cravings. We had fantastic service and every food and beverage item served was exquisite. Can highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and even better service. Good for Indian and Mauritian cuisine, and very good portion sizes, reasonably priced. Very accessible with english speaking friendly staff. They accept credit cards.

Recently visited Symon's, and was really disappointed with the experience. Crab soup was watery and no flavour smelt like they used 'octopus water' while making the soup. Furthermore, steak ordered medium rare came in as well done, chewy and almost little to no taste.
