This place was recommended by the hotel. Unfortunately it didn’t deliver. The atmosphere is good and clean(nothing over the top) and the service staff was really wonderful and super helpful. The menu is classic Mauritian fair which is what we came for. They started us with a complementary croquet that was delicious. The heart of palm salad was dull. No dressing nothing just some chopped greens and lemon. The lobster was well cooked however the sauce was just cream with no garlic or lemon flavor as they mentioned. The fish which is the only local and fresh option the rest is frozen was of good quality however it was ruined by bad cooking. Way overcooked somehow had a fishy taste (hopefully its the one we choose) and lacked any grill taste. The prices are way above the local market average and almost as expensive as eating in the hotel.

Second visit at Amigo- It left an unforgettable impression on me. The ambiance was cozy and warm, with soft lighting and comfortable seating. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure that my dining experience was nothing short of spectacular. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the lobster, which was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely heavenly. The meat was succulent and juicy, and the flavor was delicate and nuanced. It was a dish that truly stood out and left a lasting impression. In addition to the lobster, the other seafood dishes on the menu were equally impressive. The quality of the ingredients was clearly top-notch, and the chefs had expertly prepared each dish with care and attention to detail. The wine selection was also impressive, with a wide range of options to choose from that perfectly complemented the seafood. Overall, the restaurant delivered a wonderful dining experience that exceeded my expectations. I was there for dinner in a group of 5 on 14 June 2019. I reserved a table just in case it turned out to be full on that night. Surprisingly there only another table that was occupied. I arranged to bring our drinks (scotch & wine) for which I was expecting to be charged corkage. The owner graciously did not charge at all. We had a few appetisers and we all shared a very large platter of various seafood. It was excellent. The waitors were polite and paid attention to our requests. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Very overpriced... food is definitely not worth the price decoration was a 10/10 but the taste of the food was horrible. got sick after would not recommend 👎

Great place. It's different from other seafood restaurants where you get to choose fresh seafood from the catch of the day trolley. Nice presentation of the meal as well. And really nice owners. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

What a great experience we had in this amazing seafood restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service excellent!! Fresh is the key when you visit Amigo, especially the sashimi's and the lobster. Make sure you visit this restaurant when you visit Mauritius.

This is the BEST seafood I've eaten so far. The food was SUPER delicious. Highly recommend you to try their seafood 🦞 Both service and food are 10/10.

Went there for the New Year's Eve dinner buffet and it was amazing. Not my first visit there and certainly not the last. The owners are really nice and welcoming. Excellent service. Highly recommended!

One of the best fresh seafood restaurants.

My wife and I visited in December 2022 for an evening meal as a change from our all-inclusive hotel. I had lobster and my wife had fish of the day. Both dishes were nicely cooked and were accompanied by a nice bottle of white wine from the cellar. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience made even better by being picked up from and dropped back at our hotel nearby! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who fancies a change from their hotel. Thank you to all involved.

Googled for goo seafood restaurants inauritius and this one came up. Amigos not only took our booking just 20 minutes before we arrived by phone, but set up a table with heart napkins and flowers for my husband's birthday. The lobster and seafood was delicious and the staff all had beautiful manners.

Fantastic little dinner spot, excellent service and super fresh fish and seafood. The fresh fish was presented to us on a trolley before cooking. Also very nice cocktails. Wasn’t cheap but high quality has it’s price - absolutely worth it and would come here again!

Our starters were delicious. We ordered Lobster as main course but was not soft and smooth but very rubbery. The ober was saying that it was normal with big Lobster. Not a good excuse for a restaurant that has the Saying when live gives u citroen order Lobster. We did order Lobster but got citroen.

The freshest seafood dishes, creatively crafted and perfectly presented. Kavinen is an engaging, jovial host, making his father proud and competently continuing the Amigo legacy. Amazing!

We couldn’t even believe the level of culinary this place had to offer, top-notch. We had a very enjoyable seafood dinner at Amigo. The seafood was very fresh, with incredible ingredients and well prepared, unbelievable service, and it was great to find a restaurant slightly off the beaten track that offered such good food.. Best dinner we ever had, Don’t miss it when you are in Cap-Malheureux.. Just Devine. We highly recommend this restaurant for its food and service👌😋💯

Excellent, friendly service with outstanding food

Great food, cosy atmosphere, two brothers ( sorry I forget their names) are very warm hosts. I esp. liked that the flexibility to build your own sea food platter keeping your budget in mind. Thanks definitely recommended.

The worst seafood experience I've ever had. The bang bang fried shrimp and calamari were greasy. The seafood platter for two wasn't appetizing at all. The cheese sauce in the lobster shell tasted burnt and the lobster was uncooked. Nothing was seasoned. The tuna bled all over the plate. We went for Valentines Day with two other couples. None of us enjoyed it. The one star is for the mojito I had and the other for my husband's Pina colada. They were very nice.

I really enjoyed the food and the service. It was very good 👍 the restaurant was a little awkward as it was on the upper level. But it was very nice. But not really the place to have a business dinner. It would however be a superb place to take the wife for a special occasion.

Delicious and fresh sea food. The staff is very friendly making sure you have an unforgettable experience. Beside great food, they offer a great cocktail variety. If you decide to come by car, there are plenty of parking spaces allocated for the customers.

Fresh choice of seafood and friendly staff - you get a pick up and drop off from / to your hotel which is complementary if you are located within 5 km which is a great service I believe. Kids ate very well with the kid menu and loved the calamari and octopus we ordered as a shared platter. We ordered beautiful 1.7kg lobster and 2 king prawns which were very tasty served simply grilled and with the garlic butter sauce - lobster a bit too cooked but didn’t affect the taste - I enjoyed it and no meat was left. Another good point to know, it is a family restaurant running for 38 years and you can fell the passion and Mauritian vibe! They also make their our own home rum - simple - tasty - friendly - welcome to Mauritius
