The food was pleasant and the restaurant was clean. I would however suggest that you don’t order the paella as my rice was over cooked, according to the waitress that was how it’s meant to be served. One more note, the service is relatively slow so prepare to buckle down.

Fish was terrible and not 300 g as advertised, white wine, should be 150 ml was served in a small glass and maybe 100 ml... Unfortunately ocean basket has become a no go

Lovely seafood restaurant. If you love seafood you must give it a try. We wanted to try out the sushi; however , the staff informed us it will be available only at dinner time starting from 5:30pm.

The menu offers a variety of fish, calamari, prawn and mussels, all cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the calamari and prawn it comes with rice and ships. The staff was friendly and attentive and service was excellent. Overall i recommend the place for anyone who is craving for seafoods near Bagatelle.

Usually the waiting time is long at bagatelle mall due to high volume of visit. Luckily that day there was no queue and we had the choice where to sit. The salad was amazing and the seafood of good quality.

Really average food now. Used to love it but the taste has dropped. The sauce that I used to love on the seafood is now tangy and the price has increased. Really disappointed.

Despite being almost empty, they managed a staggering 1h 10m wait for an average dish. Not recommended for those seeking a swift dining experience.

I often go to this restaurant. They offer large portion sizes and yummy food. Nonetheless, this time I opted for the salad instead of the chips. Well oh well, fresh ingredients but not the salad to my taste. It was a bit basic. I could not complete the salad due to a lot of vinaigrette. The fish was yummy. Still recommend OB 👌

Decent, worth the try if you love seafood.

The food taste of ocean basket here is nothing like the one in South Africa. The staff are not helpful and made big fuss about us asking to remove the prawns head. They started to make all kind of excuses; we don't do it, chef is busy, we have too many orders.

Portions were small Fish was dry without much sauce Little lemon butter sauce on the prawns Can't compare with South African Ocean Baskets because the need and taste of Mauritius is different, so it's understandable, however the value was poor for the price paid. Bathrooms were not clean, no toilet paper in one and dirty toilet seat on the other.

Today was my first visit at OB and surely the LAST one also. Ordered the "FAMOUS FISH & CHIPS" @ Rs 355 and a "GRILLED SALMON 200G" @ Rs 775. Apart from the chips, the rest ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. NO TASTE AT ALL...Worst fish i ever ate. Can't even say it was good or bad coz REALLY TASTELESS.....i was stunned and speechless...Good foods doesn't need excellent service or beautiful interior but simply PURE TALENT and "SAVOIR FAIRE".

Went for lunch .. take out as husband does not eat seafood. Sat at nearby common eating area. Was very excited but extremely disappointed. Fish and calamari combo less than average. Tasteless grilled fish which was not even close to fresh in fact don’t think I’ve ever had such a tough piece of hake … calamari marginally better but lacking in taste. Rice only part of the dish that I can rate as ok. Extremely overpriced. Had grilled dorado with rice and salad at another restaurant in Blue Bay which was Rs140 less

Good food for a fair price. I recommend the seafood platter if you are going with friends or family as it contains a variety of seafood. For those who don't like the 'sea taste' of the fish, I recommend the Kingclip. It's recommended to go early or you will have to queue for quite some time as they start to get busy around lunch and dinner time.

To our amazement, one of the best seafood restaurants on the island is located in shopping mall. Exceptional food (we had full Seabream platter, seared salmon and some sushi). Would recommend!

The food was actually amazing! Usually I don't like seafood but this has really opened me up to liking seafood more now. I took the platter for 2 and it was quite a good amount of food. The dish also arrived at our table pretty fast too.

Poor services, had a table for 4 people however for main course we weren't served all together. 2 of us had our dinner and had to wait for 20 mins before the others got their main course.

I ordered fish and chips (Kingclip Rs495), a salad and 2 cokes on tap. Total was Rs 710. Both taste and value proposition were not good in my opinion. Salad was subpar. Was best to avoid it completely. The "fish and chips" was OB's own version rather than British version (deep fried fish in batter). Sadly even at that I was disappointed. Fish was dry and tasteless on its own. The chips and chilled coca-cola were good. I was full at the end. Upstairs tables looked nice but not next to the bar, where they sit table-for-one people! All in all, I was better off buying frozen haddock from Foodlovers (~Rs 395) and oven chips from Intermart.

Love the place and food. You get good quality at a reasonable price. Its my go to place when I want to eat seafood and dont want to travel far.

Did like the Sushi. Service was good. Made sure the waiter knew we appreciated it when settling the bill. However - the main course - a shared platter - was just like a low cost canteen's meal. I will never accept a restaurant taking shortcuts when people leave their house, accept the wait, accept the prices - to be served anything but what is shown in their menu or not even respecting basic standards. There is someone cooking, someone preparing the platter, a floor manager, and a waiter - someone should have seen what we are being given. Not recommended, unless you are going for Sushi or Deep Fried Food. Thats about it in Mauritius anyway - beyond a fryer, people lose focus.

Had a pleasant atmosphere, prompt service nd attentive waitresses. Only tissue papers were too limited.The standard of OB must offer the items more lavishly.I'll recommend friends to visit OB and you'll be happy.

I loved the food here. Absolutely amazing and delicious. The waiters are nice and they rapidly zip you off to a table, take your order efficiently and serve you food in the blink of an eye, even in the busiest of times. There is a wide variety of food, and its a very peaceful atmosphere. If you come to this amazing restaurant at bagatelle, i recommend the sitting on the balcony on the upper floor, absolutely stunning view!

Food there was super good service was good but how can 11 people share a single tartare sauce on the table, the fish was small and too salty, the portion of fried baby calamari was quite small. Other than that the ambiance and seats were really good. Would recommend to other seafood loversm

We ordered the seafood gratin last night - a dish that we loved in the past. But we were disappointed this time. First off, the portion was joke, barely filled halfway and when we dug in, it was like “batonet crab” invasion. Seriously where is the seafood? We told the cashier and a server and what did we get? It’s like that and that we should talk to “la direction” Seriously save you cash, ocean basket is not the same anymore!
