My husband & I spent this past Easter weekend at the Tropical Attitude. We have stayed at many hotels on the island as we have lived here for the past year. Overall we had a lovely time. Hotel & restaurant staff & service were great, special mention to Karen & Patricia who were wonderful. The room was comfortable and in line with the hotels 3 star rating. The spa staff, setup & massages really impressed us. Friendly, professional & effective treatments. The only downside for us was the food across all restaurants. We found it to be very basic, bland and prepared without passion. The kitchen staff did not look happy either. If this aspect can be improved it would make for an excellent all round experience at the hotel.

This resort was not what we expected whatsoever. I am very surprised by all of the great reviews on here. First off they literally don't even have a beach which was shown in many photos. If I had known that I would have booked somewhere else. The restaurant was by far the worst part of this place. The food was very bland and undercooked and my Fiancee actually got very bad food poisoning the first night we were there. The staff in the restaurant were also very rude and very impersonal. The first night we arrived for dinner we walked into what looked like a buffet-style setup. I'd say about 3-4 staff saw us walking around trying to figure out what was going on and didn't bother to talk to us or help us out. Finally, we were told it was not buffet style and to find a seat. After we found a table we literally sat there for like 15 minutes before someone came over to us, even though they were watching us the whole time. Another time we went in and this time we found a table to sit at (the restaurant was basically empty) and a guy came over and yelled at us that we aren't supposed to do that. Really had no clue what was going on in there, just a mess. There was one day in the restaurant where one of the staff was blatantly staring at my Fiancee's chest. She felt extremely uncomfortable and didn't even want to go back there after that. He didn't even try to "hide" it either he just outwardly stared, it was ridiculous. The rooms were very rundown as well. The mosquito net around the bed in our room literally had massive holes in it and was basically pointless. We got eaten alive. The TV didn't work at all and the wifi was very spotty. Some of the only good things about this place were the bar and the drinks there and one bartender named Raj. The guest services ladies were also super nice and helpful. The average age of guests there was quite high. There is nothing wrong with that of course but we had expected a younger crowd given the vibe of the hotel, however, this was not the case. Just useful for others to know if they are expecting a younger crowd.

Very good hotel! Child-free, meaning it's very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly, helpful and generous. The location is a bit remote since it's on the east coast, but well worth it if you want a quiet vacation. Transport was easily arranged, and there is a local bus stop just outside if you want to travel like the locals. The food was good, and the hotel offered free 30 min snorkeling trips daily, and a free shuttle to/from the really beautiful island ìle aux Cerf. The only drawbacks were that the public beach is a 5-10 min walk (the hotel is right by the water, but has corrals and urchins, so you probably don't want to swim there), and that the sheets weren't changed every time the room was cleaned. All in all, we had a great time here and would definitely recommend it.

We had the villa and we loved it very much. We had our privacy here and Kamini the housekeeper made some towel animals for us everyday which was very pleasant. If you choose to stay at this hotel choose the villa. For us the food options at diner where unfortunately not enough and the taste was not always good. We think the diner could be improved. But breakfast was good and sufficient for us. Rashmi who cooks eggs there is very friendly we talked to her everyday and she gave us some recommendations for the area. I also have to mention Arish who is very talented and made the most delicious self made ice tea for us a couple of times. He is also very friendly. The other staff members were also nice and helpful. What I like about the hotel: very good service when it comes to the boat trips. They take you to ile aux cerfs and to snorkeling for free which is really nice. Also you get to taste the traditional food at the a la carte restaurant. What I did not like: there were some mice around the hotel and we also had one in our room one night. We still don’t know how it got inside but it was very scary and uncomfortable for us. But when we told the hotel staff in the morning they immediately took care of it and since then it did not happen again. So if you go there be careful and don’t leave your doors open. Overall I can recommend this hotel if you choose the villa it is worth it. Thanks for the staff and your efforts.

We spent two nights in one of the private villas, absolutely loved it!! The food was fantastic and the villa had tons of attention to detail, and the garden area was truly private. My husband and I normally try not to stay at the same place twice but I have a feeling we will be back very soon!

What a gem of a place! Such a nice size - not too big, but not tiny either. Really nice selection of food, available in abundance. Room was always kept spotless with fresh towels regularly. Never a long wait at the bar and the cocktails were awesome. Excellent to have the shuttle boat to the idyllic Ile aux Cerfes with a packed lunch included. Don’t miss a cooking lesson with the chef! Another highlight was an evening meal at the home of one of the staff members, Chonchita, with a generous amount of rum, exceptional hospitality and delicious Mauritian food. What really made this place, though, was the wonderful staff. They really could not do enough for you; everyone was so friendly and we felt they genuinely enjoyed their jobs - they certainly seem to take immense pride in what they do. All staff were so equally fantastic that it feels wrong to mention any specific people, but we particularly connected with Ana in the shop, Karen in guest services, Vikash and Reshma from the kitchen, Patricia our housekeeper (expert in towel art!) along with Rikish, Tarvish and Ayush on the bar, and Ram, Christopher and Karina in the restaurant. We felt welcomed as friends and left feeling like family. We will miss you all, not to mention beautiful Mauritius (visiting Chamerel, Cape Malhereux, The Botanical Gardens and hiking up The 7 Cascades and Mount Bambou highlights for us), and hope to return one day.

3 star Hotel with 5 star review! There is no negatives, just positives. This is our last night here and below are all the positive points about this Hotel: Delicious food(options for every taste I would say, vegan, meat/fish eaters, every day different dishes) fantastic friendly, welcoming staff, tasty cocktails unlike in other hotels - those ones are made from scratch and not from the mixers. Interesting Tea tasting corner available to all guests. Great views, nearby beach within 10 minutes walking distance(hotel does not have the greatest access to the ocean) hotel also provides free shuttle boat trips to Ile Aux Cerfs island. Clean comfortable rooms with ocean views, free parking. Honestly we could not ask for better service, great value for money!

Lovely little boutique resort on the east coast. Does not have direct access to a beach but does have a great swimming pool (although a short paddle left out of the resort takes you to a public beach). Offers free trips to the island and free snorkelling trips which is great. Food was nice and staff were lovely. Most rooms have a sea view, which is a great way to start your day. The pool was a little scummy at the end of the day. Could do with a midday clean.

We had a great stay at Tropcial Attitude, it was everything we expected and more. This was our honeymoon and we had the private Villa with a pool, which was amazing! Definitely recommend this room! The staff at Tropical was amazing, so nice, hardworking and caring. In the middle of the week we left a review about the food and they really showed us that they cared about us and our opinions. The staff definitely made our stay more memorable. Will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff is brilliant, they are always very nice and helpfull. The food was good. We loved the cooking class with the hotel's chef. He taught us how to make chicken curry. There is entertainment a few times a week. Our room was always cleaned very well, always looking forward to find a new towel figure. We both certainly recomment this hotel. Thanks to everybody who made this holiday perfect for us.

A beautiful hotel right by the sea. I must mention the staff who were extremely pleasant, kind and smiling, there was a family atmosphere. We really liked that rooms were right under the palm trees, also there was a really beautiful view of the sea. The rooms were very spacious and well equipped. The beach near the hotel was smaller, but you could go to the sea to swim and there was also the possibility to take a boat to a nearby island. The food was good, but the selection was smaller, but we were satisfied, I appreciate the great omelettes at breakfast and the selection of vegetarian dishes at dinner.

Hotel was basic and most fixtures/fittings of low quality. Room was very dull despite looking out to sea through large patio doors. Food bland and often cold although the morning omelette station was good. Coffee and beer in bar OK but poor cocktails and wine. Overall a major disappointment - their marketing says 3 star superior I would rate it average to a poor 3 star. The only saving grace of a visit here are the staff who are very helpful

Seafacing room is okayish for the price - would rather pay a little more & get an upscale place Food was the worst experience of all. Limited vegetarian options & the same menu day & night, everyday. We had to request every single day to prep a veggie main course for us Location is far from every tourists activity place. At least 2 hours per day lost travelling Staff is good from a hospitality perspective but that’s a part of the job description. Friendliness on the other hand is something we liked Overall, it’s more of a 2-star hotel

Honestly, this hotel is the dream place, child free, probably in the best location of the island, we went all around and it's truly fabulous. Very affordable, amazing beach 5min walk and super authentic fisher village of Trou d'Eau Douce 15 min walk away. Of course if you want a tourist resort that's not your place but if you like to get out of beaten tracks in a real paradise, pick that place!

The staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The villas with the private pools are great, although as this is winter season, you have to be brave to jump in. Everyone is really helpful and I really can't fault them.

We loved our stay here. The people were friendly, the view was amazing, and we really enjoyed the food. We would love to come back sometime. Thank you for making our vacation really special.

We had a great time here. One thing we absolutely did not enjoy was the food. We mostly went out and ate. Please work on tht. Otherwise great stay. Only problem was there is no good beach to walk on. But the free boat ride to the island is quite helpful. 👌 thanks for making our visit extra special.

Friendly, tidy hotel on the shore where we spent 7 nights. The staff is very helpful, the service is great. Firstly we received a pretty rubbish room, but next day (after my complaint) they changed it for a better one. Meal is average, there were better days and worse days too. Drinks are pretty expensive, the quality is hectic: beer was cold & fine👍, the local (domestic) redwine was undrinkable. The freeboat possibility to the island is a very good benefit, keep it up! Hotel's housedog was sweet 😊

Although this is only a three star hotel, for a boutique hotel it probably rates as five star. You shouldn't compare it with the huge five star resorts as it simply isn't that sort of holiday. It is an idyllic, oasis of peace, tranquility and beauty with the most friendly, polite and helpful staff. Our room was looked after by Kamini who was delightful and very creative with all the little animals made from towels. Karen in guest services was extremely helpful as were all of the restaurant team. Great place for honeymooners or just for some together-time away from the stresses of the world. A little remote, but easy to hire a car to see the island. We spent 14 days here and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all the team at Tropical Attitude who made it such a great experience.

Had a nice time at tropical attitude. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, nice and spacious. The service at the bar and restaurant was good. I had a relaxing time at the spa which was fabulous.

Great hotel ambinace with a beautiful view along with very clean and hygienic room services. We also had an amazing food at the restaurant. All staff members of the hotel specially in restaurant were very cooperative and caring. Felt like being at another home away from India. Keep it up👍

Perfect hotel At Tropical you will get top service from all of the staff. Always a smile that meets you wherever you go. They offer a buffet that is excellent! A lot of variation and all with really good taste. Well worth the money (take all inclusive if you can, well worth it). They offer a free boat to isle au cerf, wow!!! Go there and enjoy this paradise. There will be a lot of people but you just take a short walk and you will be by your selfs (buy a snorkelling experience, that’s top). The rooms are clean. The service top. The food is excellent. Take a ten min walk from the hotel and you will find a wonderful beach. Go all the way till the end, where you can almost touch the reef, wow that is a magical place. Snorkel out and enjoy all kind of fishes and coral. We will come back to this well worth the money place.

The hotel is good and the staff were very nice and helpful. The quality of the food was not as good as most hotels I've been to which was a shame. There isn't much of a beach outside the hotel but the public beach a bit further over is very beautiful All said we had a good weekend here and I would go again.

The whole stay is just amazing. The hotel is truly beautiful (very clean and eco friendly) and the staff is so caring and nice. We are also very happy with the food - the selection is great, everything is fresh and you can also try the local cuisine. I highly recommend the complementary cooking class where you can cook yourself authentic dishes with the experienced and friendly chef.

The hotel is very nice and modern with really friendly staff. For our taste it felt a bit too "westernized" and too little Mauritius-style, which we loved about the other hotels on our trip. The rooms itself are also modern, however there is hardly any flow of fresh air because there is no ceiling-fan. Would still recommend if you are looking for a "western get-away" on Mauritius.

Had a lovely time ! The staffs were very welcoming. The food was fantastic. I have nothing to complaint about. Everything was awesome. The staff are generous. My Ram and Mr Illshaad helped us with everything in the hotel. Will definitely come back again. A cozy and nice place to relax.

Our stay was really pleasant. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help with any issue. They behave like a big family, which creates very good atmosphere in the hotel. Not to mention about Vikash who is not only excellent Chef, but also outgoing person who always talked with us and asked how our day was going. Food is excellent and diverse. Hotel is a little heaven on Earth. We choose it for our honeymoon and let me tell you, they provide everything. Rooms are very clean and spatious right next to the ocean, the restaurant is a mix of a la carte and buffet, depends on the night, food is delicious, especially the fish. For our anniversary we even had a special menu and a cake as a suprise. Next to the restauant is a bar, a pool and a little shop were you can buy something for yourself at a good price. Reception is open 24 hours and you can book trips directly at the hotel. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They make sure your holiday goes without a problem. Plus hotel is eco friendly. If you want an awesome holidays, this is the hotel for you. You will not regret it. 😃

We stayed in the hotel for 18 days and got married there during our stay. The view from the room was outstanding. It is wonderful to go to the bed and get up with the sound and view of the ocean. The environment was very calm and relaxing. Stress is not existing word there from the first minute of stay. The room was always very clean and neat. Big thanks to Nazimah for that. And especially for cute animals of towels, which cheered us every day. All the staff were very friendly all the time and it was great to chat with them. The greatest words for Ilshad - who took care of our wedding ceremony. He got the flowers which was very difficult to get, offered different place for wedding ceremony, when we were not very happy about standard options and did his best to make us comfortable during wind and rain on wedding day. We were bit worried about make up in the hotel - if it suit, but every brush was coordinated and the final result was great. The food in the restaurant was delicious for us. Just after almost 3 weeks it became bit boring, because most of the meals were the same in the breakfast and dinner menu. One morning there were no electricity and other morning there were no water. But it was solved very fast. And we got up before 6AM, so we were sleeping till 7AM, we do not even notice such thing. We also expected to see sunrises through our window, but you need to go to sunbeds to see it rising from the horizon of the ocean. Despite of small inconveniences which could happen anywhere, we are very happy about our holidays in Tropical attitude hotel.

After a long research in which hotel our wedding and honeymoon will take place, we decided on Tropical Attitude. It was the best decision ever and we are very happy about it! We would like to thank you very much for the great organization and very familiar atmosphere! All our wishes were fulfilled and our day was more than unforgettable. We can absolutely recommend this beautiful, quiet, environmentally friendly green hotel complex with many cozy corners, rooms right on the ocean and the very best staff! We fell in love with this place and will definitely be back!
