I would like to raise a complaint about two reception staff members; Prashant and Ravi who have been extremely rude to my partner and I over the phone. We were planning a honeymoon trip in a few months and wanted to view the hotel in our current trip. However, they had a disrespectful tone and wouldn’t let me finish my sentences during the phone call. They kept saying “no, you are an outsider and you are not welcome to our hotel”. Hotel can check the recording of the phone call to verify these comments from the rude staff members. I have been a Shangri La Circle member for decades and never in my life have been mistreated this way in any of their properties. This kind of treatment makes me want to handover my circle membership back and go to the Four Seasons without as much as a look behind.

Absolutely stunning resort. We had a wonderful time. We spent 5 nights here and didn’t feel the need to go out to do other activities as there’s plenty to do from the resort. The resort has a private island which has a wonderful natural beauty. You can easily spend an entire day there. There’s a number of beaches within the resort to choose from. We had booked half board and the breakfast and dinner buffets were exceptional! Chef Ahmed was very accommodating. We were especially grateful for the availability of halal food. The service of the staff was also very good. 10/10 would recommend

This is a phenomenal hotel from start to finish. It started with excellent support from the team before we arrived to get reservations/questions sorted out. Every staff member we interacted with there was friendly and dedicated to going above and beyond to please guests. The hotel grounds and facilities are stunning, and was so cool to have a private island to visit as an added bonus. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a great variety of dishes. Can only recommend to stay here when you’re in Mauritius.

We were having dinner in Kushi. but As I was chewing roll sushi, vinyl(plastic) came out of my mouth. It's also shocking that vinyl came out of a five-star hotel that even values the dress code, but when I left, he said he was sorry and that he would take out the price of roll sushi. I'm not a beggar, It's really disappointing to respond as if you're making fun of the customer by apologizing and subtracting the price of the product menu only then because you seem to get angry while not apologizing properly.  I think it really needs a lot of care.

Best place I have stayed in my life. From the service to the room, to all the activities it houses, just perfect. We stayed here for 4 days which could have easily have been 2 weeks. A lot to do here and everything at the highest level possible. See you next year.

They serve with passion, their specialty is to give the best experience ever. Th staff is very friendly and helpful, during our stay we have asked about a laptop to attend important meeting ( immediately the laptop was inside the meeting room)! we also requested a Taxi in our last day ( the driver stayed with us for 8 hours and answered all our questions) Even the chef at the buffet, he is making sure himself that everyone is satisfied. The last point! When we arrived to the airport heading back to our home country we have found a representative from the hotel with our names who took care of our luggages! Until last moment! To promote or explain the kind of services that they have a little more. Special thanks to Shay and Ash for their extraordinary service and their outstanding support!

Simply the best hotel experience we have ever had. Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here and it couldn't have been a better choice or experience. The staff and overall guest relations is incredible, they create such a personalised touch with how they treat their guests. We arrived at 5:30am on the day we were due to check in and they already had our room available for us to get some rest. We stayed in a Club Frangipani Suite which entitled us to additional benefits such as an A La Carte option for breakfast, unlimited free minibar and a 30min free spa treatment. The room was better than the pictures. In terms of the food, breakfast and lunch were up to the high standards that you'd expect of a hotel like this. But frankly, the evening meals don't come close to what is needed. Each of Kushi, Safran, Le Bazar and Republic could all do much better here. The prices are exceptionally high yet the food is not tasty enough or of sufficient quality and variety. This does let the hotel down as its so much more than a typical 5 star in so many other areas of service and amenities. Unfortunately due to the location of the hotel being somewhat out on its own, you are a bit trapped for food options from the hotel; they need to address this with better chefs and menus. We spoke to management about this and they said they had plans in train to overhaul some of the restaurants within the next 12 months. In the meantime, they should really lower the prices of the food as it's quite extortionate in this light. Complementary tennis, table tennis, pool, watersports activities are a nice touch. You also have free access to play golf at Ile Aux Cerfs and Anahita if you stay 5 nights or more - courses which are in excess of €100 a round. The evening entertainment was also pleasant, being able to have a signature cocktail and a cigar from the Sega Bar humidor was a very nice touch. The Shangri-la is an ultra luxurious hotel, that really made our honeymoon experience so memorable. The prices are very high, but it comes with the territory and is, for the most part, just about worth it, except for the evening meals. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND HOPE WE CAN RETURN WHEN THEY HAVE SORTED OUT THE RESTAURANT (S) SITUATION.

The rooms were clean and classy. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The breakfast buffet at Le Bazar had a good balance and variety of hot and cold, sweet and savory. Pool area was relaxing. Beautiful gardens and greenery. Will definitely go back to this resort. The views from my room were amazing.

I had a problem with my duration of the stay they at first didn’t deal with me in the way I expected a five stars hotel will do but this changed when I spoke with a duty manager who really showed support and help! I would also mention Prince from guest relations he is very professional. When it comes to the hotel facilities .. lets talk about this small and fancy hotel. I simply love it. The beach, the small island that belongs to the hotel, the very nice architecture, the kids club, and so much more. This isn’t my first time to Mauritius, and when I stayed in this hotel I have made a final decision that this will be my only place I would stay in whenever I decided to revisit the island in the future. Ps: one of the things I hope the hotel finds solution for is live music noise that can be heard in the rooms until 11:00 PM!! A detailed experience will be published soon in my blog. 🙏😊

Is been my 8th visit to the beautiful island of Mauritius and I will most certainly visit again. We’ve always wanted to stay at the Shangri-La here and we’re looking forward to our stay here. The service ant the hotel is par excellence, the staff are absolutely fantastic, Chef Ahmed and his team create delicious dishes and we enjoyed every meal at the buffet restaurant. The waiters and waitresses are just awesome, every single one of them. Although we had some issues at one of the restaurants, the staff quickly helped in solving them. The hotel is dated and needs to be refit and I believe this is in the pipeline. The property however is beautiful and the beach is as expected, stunning!! The room we had led to the beach which was lovely. Room is well appointed and comfortable. However, I’m sure once the refit of the hotel is done it will have the standards of other Shangri-La hotels. The property is a distance from Port Louis and Grand Baie and I would recommend hiring a car for a day to visit. It’s worth the time and the drive. I look forward to returning once the hotel has been renovated.

Uffff, what a dreamy place. The rooms, the pools, restaurants, staff, views, facilities, beach access, food, activities and much more - all at their very best. You will end up feeling like king/queen while staying here. We travelled with our infant and they made us feel so special. No words to express how best our needs were fulfilled by Shangri-La resort. Truly, this property is nothing but epitome of luxury.

The lovely, well-maintained property made for a pleasant experience. The property boasts lush gardens, great beaches, and an exclusive adult pool. The private island and the variety of activities offered added value to our stay. The crowd at the hotel was mixed, and the atmosphere struck a good balance between being warm and upscale without feeling overly posh. Despite having 200 rooms, the property never felt overcrowded, which was a positive aspect. We stayed in one of the Frangipani rooms, which were new and spacious, offering a nice ocean view. The interior had in some parts a somewhat business hotel feel, which was a minor downside. During check-in, our room wasn't ready (which unfortunately was not well managed by the reception staff), so we saw one of the older rooms, which appeared to be in need of renovation. We leared that there will be vast rennovations especially on the main areas in 2024. The breakfast at the main house was great, but the beach breakfast could be improved with more options. The Indian restaurant on the property is recommended, while the other restaurants didn't quite justify their upscale prices. Live music at the beach and in the bar was a highlight, with some talented musicians, some of whom are well-known on the island. Service overall was excellent but had some inconsistencies. Some staff members went above and beyond, while others lacked motivation. One downside is the high prices charged by the local taxi drivers if you want to leave the hotel. Renting a car is a better option for exploring the island. There is also a few nice restaurants around. Lastly, the recommended boat trip. It allowed us to visit a waterfall, see dolphins, and explore the beautiful waters surrounding the island. In summary, this hotel is a gem with its stunning property, great beaches, and a warm upscale atmosphere. While there are a few minor areas for improvement, our overall experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

I liked everything about this resort. The friendly staff, the facilities, the restaurants, their sea activities and their beach. They actually went the extra mile by giving us a free birthday cake for my daughter after they found out that her birthday date would be during our stay. Nobody asked me about her birthday, but they had the initiative to look at that information in her passport during our check-in. And the kids club gave her a box full of useful gifts. Seeing my family happy due to the resort's employees kindness, was enough to make me feel that I owe them at least a good review. They have won me over. Special thanks to Ms. Brigette at the kids club.

The Shangri-La is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen ! The staff was very dedicated to our needs, hospitality and kindest people! The room was very clean , all was excellent: nature view, food, beaches, restaurants, private island! Thanks to all who made this possible! Congratulations to the staff of Shangri-La!

The room was very nice with a great view of the ocean but there were insects on the coffee table throughout my stay and the staff couldn't get rid of them even after I they said they sprayed the room. The breakfast is very nice with a lot of options. The service is poor as the room cleaning wouldn't get done even after hours of telling them to get it done. This was a reoccurring problem throughout my stay. The in-room dining lady was very sweet. Vegetarian food options are very limited.

Overall a very very underwhelming experience at this property of shangrila in Mauritius. The staff and service was bad. The food was below average. The whole experience was not pleasant. We were celebrating a birthday and had specifically emailed regarding the time of day we want the cake to be in the room.inspite of that, we had to ASK them when it was way beyond time about its delivery. Is that how you celebrate ocassions? The lady named Nishy was the one who checked us in and she couldn't be more uninformed about their own facilities. Babies food is not up for charge under 6 years and our was just 17 months. She was clueless about that and rudely said it's chargeable and their is a menu in the room. You cannot have uninformed disinterested unwelcoming staff as the first line of communication for a guest. I really wonder how can you even hire such people. Sullen looking uninformed staff who don't care two hoots of the guests goes to show the kind of training they have and the standards of hospitality the hotel follows. The breakfast buffet was substandard to say the least. We spent 6 nights at the properly and I am not exaggerating when I say the menu was THE SAME ON ALL DAYS. tasteless , lack of variety, lazy staff at 7 am in the morning when there were hardly any tables occupied. They look ages to get a cup of coffee or eggs or simply forget items which were asked for. The room service is barely 2 pages and there is absolutely no consistency in the food. We ordered the chicken and fish curry 2 nights during the stay and we got 2 different dishes both the time. Don't be fooled by the hotels Instagram page. They show swings and hammocks and what not and absolutely nothing is in on site at the properly and when asked about it to the staff they are clueless too. Just hosting so called influencers at the property is not going to do any good for your hotel if you don't know how to treat a paying customer. The only good staff member was chef Avishek who went over and above to make sure all our baby food requirements were met. Chef you should be at a much better property which actually knows what hospitality is. I would absolutely not recommend shangrila Mauritius for families specially or otherwise. For the amount you pay, it is definitely not a luxurious or grand stay in any sense of word. We had a great holiday at shangrila Boracay philipines which made us give this property a chance but shangrila Mauritius is a shame. An absolute waste of good money and time.

We came here for our honeymoon and it has been incredible even better than we could have hoped. From the moment we arrived the service as been so friendly and helpful. Food here is incredible and so fresh, also everything here is halal. Kushi and saffron are both amazing restaurants but the buffet at le bazar has really delicious options and is way better than an average hotel buffet. Rooms are so spacious with incredible ocean views, and beach access , there is various activities you can take part in and book on the day too that are all really fun and free for guests. This is the most amazing hotel and I’m glad we picked it for our honeymoon. Hope to come back again in the future!

The best location, food and service. They did everything possible to make our stay amazing. It was my daughter’s birthday and they surprised us multiple times with multiple gifts, cakes and even bed decorations. Everyone in staff was so welcoming and really kind to all the visitors. We also stayed Lux Grand Gaube but the experience was nowhere nearly as good.

One of the most beautiful hotels we visited in Mauritius. Thank you to the management and staff of this hotel Thanks to the salon hairdresser Elodia for her kind treatment and the employee virginie And the Indian restaurant was one of the best Indian dishes that we tasted, and special thanks to Chef Avishek, who took care of us and made us taste one of the best Indian dishes.

An amazing experience. Top notch hospitality and friendliness from everyone. The Japanese restaurant’s food is to die for! The chef Harry changed my life with the tuna roll, hands down best food I’ve ever had in my life!

As soon as we arrived at Shangri-La we were made to feel incredibly welcome by everyone on the team - especially Ash! From the welcome drinks on arrival to a special breakfast arranged by Nasser for us on the beach. Ash also provided lots of helpful advice on things to do and informed us more about Mauritian culture. We were really sad to leave! The resort had everything we could've asked for, and no photos will do it justice. We really enjoyed our trips out to Ilot Mangenie and Ile aux Cerfs, which were easily accessible from the hotel. Food was great at all the different restaurants - our highlight was Safran on our final night. We'd highly recommend the Shangri-la Colada cocktail as well - we probably had one too many of those! No matter the time of day or whoever we came across, all the staff had a smile on their face and couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Thank you Ash, Nasser, and all the staff who made our (Covid-delayed) honeymoon well worth the wait. Can't wait to come back!

Review on Shangri-la Le Tourssok Mauritius We stayed at Shangri-la Tourssok resort for 10 days. We can’t praise enough for the hospitality and the service provided by all the staff at the resort. We were meet and greeted by staff Stacey and taken to have breakfast in bazaar restaurant and later she told us that mr Harrish Dowlutrao Guest experience Manager and all his team have upgraded our room to Hibiscus Suite which has a beach view and straight access to the beach and sea . This was a super present for us as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We mentioned that we are vegetarian and all the staffs and chefs accommodated us with Indian cuisine and vegetarian options. In the saffron restaurant we were met by Avishek and the staff , he made us chole bhatura, puri bhaji, and other dishes. In Bazaar restaurant we were meet by Dinesh and the chefs and the staff , they all made some nice vegetarian dishes like maze , pizza and pasta and choice of parathas and Dosa for breakfast. We are grateful for the service provided by Navin . The services provided by Bina and the staff in Spa services we great. We enjoyed the boat shuttle service to private island and the Golf Club island. Special thanks to house keeping staff and at beach and : Harrish , Navin, Nathaniel, Vikrash, Avishek ,Krupa , Ravi, Ashwin , Dinesh, Ahmed , Sabrina chef, Babita chef, Daro , Mirella , Faredeen , Shoail, housekeeping Vinesh, Dev Kukar, Dastageer,Yogesh. The facilities are really great and world class services and super resort in the 5 to 6 star’s rating category. What makes an enjoyable stay at this resort is that directors and the staff goes out of their way to help and care . We will most definitely be coming back to this wonderful resort and will recommend it to all our families and friends.

Fantastic experience, the place is beautiful and the people are kind hearted genuine hard workers and go the extra mile to make the customers feel happy, and always with a smile. Food is excellent. The daily snorkeling activity is a must, the boat takes guests to a wonderful spot to see a large variety of Indian ocean wildlife.

What a wonderful and memorable 50th wedding anniversary week. Truly amazing. Six star rating in our book. Excellent and very friendly service. Deepmala left a lasting impression with her smile and extremely obliging manner. Our sincere complements to the chefs too. Another week and we would not have been able to fit into our clothes!

We were celebrating my partner’s birthday in October and stayed for 9 days and it couldn’t have been any better. We booked the helicopter transfer from the airport and it was the perfect start of a perfect holiday. The views were incredible and it set the mood for the holiday. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel we were at home and special. They were prepared to accommodate all requests we had and were proactive in offering things we didn’t even know we needed. We stayed in the frangipani wing with beach access; the room was beautiful and spacious. If light in the morning bothers your sleep I’d recommend bringing a sleeping mask, it didn’t bother us but it’s something to consider if that’s the case for you. We were a bit worried we would feel a bit bored since we were staying for 9 days but there were plenty of activities to do everyday, we left without doing many of them because we didn’t have enough time. We were on half board basis, both breakfast and dinner at the buffet restaurant had a huge variety for all tastes. One night my partner really wanted a steak and even though it wasn’t on the menu that evening they went out of their way to prepare one for him. The a la carte restaurants were also very good, specially Kushi, we had our last dinner there and it was the perfect farewell. The gym was well equipped and spacious, only down side were the speakers that were available for guests to use and unfortunately some people have no awareness and respect for other people and were blasting music at full volume. This is obviously no fault of the staff but perhaps a system that is controlled by gym staff could solve this problem. Although the hotel, beach and food were all amazing, what made our experience truly special were the staff. I’ve said it to most of them but it bears repeating; The staff was their greatest asset, without them it would just be another resort at the beach. At some point we had to start writing everyone’s names down because we wanted to personally thank them for everything they had done for us. The below doesn’t include everyone we would like to thank but sadly we don’t remember all their names and didn’t get to see them again. Esha - Special thanks to you for looking after us throughout our whole stay Deepak Isabelle Jauhan Natasha Stephan Owen Olivier Deepak (Turndown service) Pravesh Bheemul Sandeep Babita Sabrina Mirella Diana Thank you all so much for making it one of the best holiday we have ever had.

We had an amazing couple of weeks at this resort. The hospitality is of very high standard. We had one evening (beach bbq) where the service was bad but they made up during rest of our stay once we complained. We would have otherwise rated this as 3.5 but they definitely put in the effort for this to be 5/5. Based on our personal preferences, some suggestions we would make are: 1. Try the Japanese asap. A separate review for the Japanese to follow. We could easily eat there every day of the week. 2. Go to the private island. It can be windy but with continuous sun, it is more pleasant than the Frangipani beach which we found to be too hot. 3. Also go to the golf resort where you can use the private beach. The beach is shared with other resorts. 4. Get water shoes. Overall a very enjoyable holiday for us.

  • 4/5 Janine Q. 1 year ago on Google
The team are extremely welcoming and lovely. Property absolutely beautiful with walk-out access to a stunning waterfront, tennis courts, live music in the evening, surprises in the room each day (thank you Anisha!), water sports at your fingertips, relaxing spa treatments. Organization only a bit messy. Restaurants require booking the week in advance and even then, there was confusion and chasing on our end to ensure confirmation. But always pleasant service with heart. Maybe Shangri-la could support with better systems!

  • 3/5 xpher w. 1 year ago on Google
This rating is more of a 3.5* than a 3*. The service provided by the employees was top notch. They were taking care of you like a VIP. The food was extremely delicious. However, the variety was quite few. There was not much choice at our disposition for the buffet. There was also a lack of activities. But overall it was an agreeable stay.

  • 5/5 MCS A. 1 year ago on Google
If you are looking for something out of the ordinary. If you are looking for unique beaches (three different orientations), a hotel-owned private island, combined with an extremely good cuisine (in four different restaurants). If you want to be welcomed, cared for and seen off by an unforgettably motivated and unbeatably friendly team. If you want to be directly connected (already a few steps away from your room) with nature. If you are looking for a memory to last a lifetime. If you want to experience everything that corresponds to the idea of paradise life, then you can't avoid the Shangri-La in Mauritius. We would like to thank you for a great time, great pictures that will stay in your memory and for the feeling of just being able to enjoy.

Incredible resort! We only stayed for one night due to a flight cancellation. Hotel feels super private despite being a large complex. Adults only pool was divine and the beach was really clean and well kept. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also really good! Only critique would be that the floor in the rooms were really slippery even though we didn’t get it wet? - it was quite dangerous ! And I got bitten a few times so wear bug spray!
