Started being a nice evening, they accommodated us even without reservations. Got our drinks, 1 waiter wasn't very patient and helpful with the questions we had but the others were fine. We then proceeded to wait at least 1.5 hours for our meal. It included pizzas and grilled chicken which should not take that much time to make. And, people coming later in similar group sizes were served first. One of our friends still didn't receive her food for another 30 minutes. She demanded to see the manager but the waiter just quickly came with her dish (alone). The ambience and the music were ok, nothing impressive. Couldn't finish our food after the long wait as it was already very late. They're also overpriced considering the food is average, at best. Really disappointed. For those with dietary needs, they do have veg options, didn't see any vegan options and the meat was said to be halal (but they do have bacon cheeseburger also in the menu).

As a tourist- will never go there again..... The bouncers target tourists and intimidate you to steal your property. The owner is completely aware and allows this to happen. They stole my husband's Smart Watch, and as he tried to get it back, they had various weapons on hand and started hitting him with a steel rod and bat. If you are a tourist- not a safe space... rather go somewhere else, there are various other options.

This is a popular live music bar serving excellent food. The majority of the venue is open-air, so check the weather first. A four piece band playing odd music in the style of jazz entertained us when we visited. The staff were a bit hit and miss, though, with really only one waiter who could order and provide drinks.

Came here around 8:30 for food and to see what entertainment was on on a fri night. Lovely set out bar with a big tree in the middle open to the sky. Was table service and the waiter was attentive (if not a little too much occasionally), quick and polite. Food was quick to come out as well as the drinks. Food as well was very well done and my misses said it was the best steak she ever had, it literally melted in her mouth. Band was hood with hood selection of music and it turned into a night club afterwards with a DJ. Got quite busy and I believe after a certain time, they charged entry on the door so can be avoided if you cane early. Love this place and would come more often if I was in the area again.

We came here midweek for a meal out as we were just passing and stopped in. It was quiet when we came but really impressed with the decor, big banana tree in the middle with open sky around. Service was great too very friendly staff, the food was absolutely fantastic. I had the steak and I think it was one of the best steaks I've ever had! There was also live music when we came so that was a nice surprise. Apparently this is the spot for the weekends so would have loved to see that. Maybe next time

My favourite place for a drink and good music (although I would prefer a bit more hip hop/ afrobeat and the occasional sega would be fantastic!) Only downside is the fact that getting a drink at the bar is an absolute nightmare. Everyone just jumps in from all sides and you often have to wait quite sometime for your drink as, bar staff try to juggle too many things.

Most people do the mistake when visiting to not go back to the jazz club. They have some real talent on the jazz area, and too few go in there. Best place for a solid jam. Great to see that the place keep it running although many miss out on it!

The staff are very friendly. Food was good and service relatively fast. The filet steak was very tender and cooked right. Lovely homemade pepper sauce. Pumpkin puree was surprisingly good. However calamari fritti was a bit chewy. I recommend this restaurant.

We went there for drinks. Cocktails were great and reasonable priced (not the cheapest on Mauritius but also far away from the most expensive)...but the music was off the charts. A young lady with guitar nailed it!

We visited this pub for a few drinks and really had a great time. There was a live band performing (which happens most nights) and they were quite good. The first impression and service is completely on point. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy your time this is a great place to visit.

A good night out for drinks and some dancing but vegan options for dinner were non existent. We asked for a side of hummous with chips for main as this was all that was available for me and the waitress was VERY reluctant to grant this. My boyfriend had the steak which he said was very underwhelming and over cooked.

One of few open till late (1am) bars in the area. Has a nice atmosphere in the open garden under a huge tree. Partially covered by thatched roofs in case of occasional rain. Live music performances most of time (at least definitely on the weekends).

We went there because it was one of the only restaurants open after Belal. ATMOSPHERE: what it says on the tin. Very casual, like a sports bar / live music venue. A faint smell of alcohol in the air. I’m sure it’s probably more interesting when there’s live music but there wasnt anything on when we went. FOOD: we got the burger and the grilled fish. There were tasty enough even though not exceptional. Portions were OK too. SERVICE: The wait to get our first drinks was very long even though we got there early and out of the 4 drinks we ordered, only 1 arrived during the entire meal. No commercial gesture made when we got to the till to pay even though we clearly stated that our orders never arrived. Don’t go with any expectations and it’ll be OK.

Everything was enjoyable. Food well cooked and great flavour, nice wine very chilled. Lovely courtyard and nice live music. Friendly doorman. Everything i wanted during my stay! Totally recommended!

First time trying out the palm heart salad and it was amazing. The ambience and food were really good. The service was unfortunately very slow. We waited for some time to be acknowledged because the place doesn’t have a host at the entrance. The restaurant area is open and it started raining however they have some umbrellas that kind of help keep you dry. The live band sang so beautifully which helped in making the ambience a lot more special.

Great place, good cocktails and fantastic live music. Friendly and hardworking staff. The only complain we have is that we got items on the bill which we never consumed, so if you are there check the bill before you pay.

Have had my boyfriend's birthday dinner there with all his friends. Great night,the waitress was awesome and the chef my word - food was yummy.

Great food. Wide choice from starter to dessert everything tasted wonderful. Live music but silent enough to enjoy the meal and conversation. Definitely coming back there.

Banana Bar is an institution, before we moved here, we used to go as tourists. Now we go as locals. That’s Banana for you - a nice mix of both. An inside/outside place with a casual relaxed atmosphere (though later on you get a more dressed up crowd). Always great for dancing with live music (although a packed dance floor. Do not underestimate the food - it is delicious! For a great evening, start with some drinks, have dinner, then finish with a bit of dancing :) If you arrive late, there’s an entrance fee that you can exchange for certain drinks and at this time you may have to queue. It gets hot on the dance floor though - but if you’re up for it, you’ll have a great time!

As a solo female traveller, I enjoyed this place a ton! Great combination of locals and internationals that hang out here. During the week there's a lovely atmosphere with a chilled live band, cocktails are great and staff always friendly. On weekends it's a bit more lively and the dance floor fills up pretty fast. Even on the nights I tried other places I always ended up back here 😄

It's almost a regular hangout for us on Friday nights with a very cosy atmosphere and ambient music. If you've had a long week and looking for a cool place to chill...well Banana Beach Club is the address. A must try if you haven't yet.

Amazing place! I would give it 5 but the bartender in the blue note was very rude and made us fee unwelcome there, but thanks to David♥️ and his beautiful and warm hospitality and smile made the night amazing. Very great Jazz night at the blue note lounge which i recommend the most. Amazing band ♥️

The one and only place in the whole of Grand Baie where you are guaranteed of a great time! Amazing atmosphere. When most places are slow or closed, this one never disappoints.

Nice club. Live music, just wow

Not really a beach club. It was dead midweek. We were assured that it was more lively at the weekend, but that was quite difficult to see. The drinks were mediocre and there was a very tiny stage area. Definitely wouldn't call this in my club. I'll say more of a chill bar.

Music, atmosphere, location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. However, cocktails are in small glass with no taste at all. The place needs clean toilet. No toilet paper and soup, broken doors and flush, bad illumination in toilets.

Love this place. It has the most stunning giant tree growing out of the middle of the bar/restaurant. Lekker chill vibe with coral sand floor. Service is great. They have a funky band playing covers of classics and later they have a dj. Food is good although a little on the pricey side. If you in Grand Baie you need to make a turn

Best live music venue in the Indian Ocean

Good food, shady service. Changing prices after orders have been placed and adding additional items to the menu. We went there yesterday and after ordering we were surprised when the bill arrived that the lamb shank(which came highly recommended by the waiter) was not the same price as the menu. When we queried, the waiter brought us the menu which now had a crudely made sticker pasted over showing the new price. I would love to know where it is okay to changed prices of the menu midway through dinner and after people had already ordered. This was not the only mistake, there were also additional drinks added to the menu which we did not order.

Nicely designed and executed menu for a bar, nice ambiance, and an especially good selection of drinks, including local beer (highly recommend the Thirsty Fox)!

The best place to go if you are going out for drinks in the north of Mauritius. Especially fun on fridays and saturdays when they have live music and it turns into a more club atmosphere. At the grill the food is also great!

Nice place, we went on a Friday night. Personally, the live band is not my type of music but overall enjoyed myself. Later on when checking receipts I noticed that we were billed for items we didn't order.

Tasty drinks (especially loved the mojito!), good food (had the burger). Toilets are also clean. Lovely live music in the evening. Staff was great!

It was a wonderful place, good food, clean and pretty rooms. The staff were very service minded and pleasant. Couldn't have had a better stay in Mauritius. By the way, visited another hotel on the island, and they were nowhere near deliver the same experience
