Really appreciate the tour. It's splendid view's, nature lover's must visit place. Superb scenery, parking available. Really clean and wonderful location. Really nice place to have a relaxing atmosphere with family. Great place to create memories, and capture loads of pictures.

The entire park is amazing, but maybe the waterfall is the biggest highlight of all.

Because you are standing so far away and quite higher than the waterfall itself, impression is not so great and I missed that WOW effect. It would be much better if you could go down even being on the other side of the canyon. Nothing special about this place

Best waterfall on the island its a bit misleading as its free to view when you get to entrance the charge is for seven coloured sands. 2 viewing platforms best view from the top. Can get busy when coaches arrive

Must visit place if you are in Mauritius. The drive is scenic with multiple view points of the coastal line. However nothing much to do at the falls.. There are other attractions included in the ticket and you could do that. I was interested in falls so had a quick look and went on with other activities I wanted to cover.

Ein touristischer Ort im Südwesten von Mauritius. Es ist gut zu erreichen und parkmöglichkeiten vor Ort vorhanden. Der Wasserfall an sich ist absolut sehenswert.

The park is a bit of a scam in my opinion. The waterfall is nice but you can’t reach it, you can only see it from upstairs, besides that the turtles are covered in the mud in a small walking area, which is a bit sad in my opinion.. there is nothing else to do than this…

The waterfall is situated in the 7 Coloured sands park and you have to pay for entry to see it. There is plenty of parking 🅿️ The viewing deck is lovely and you get a very beautiful view of the sights and sounds of the waterfall. I believe there is a hiking trail for the more adventurous but you have to pay more to do this. Besides that, worthwhile viewing to take in the view 🥰

Breathtaking waterfall. I felt that the viewpoints available (there are 2, one of which you need to climb stairs to get to) were well located and close enough to really appreciate its size and power. Worth the visit!

A wonderful waterfall to take some pictures. Unfortunately, there is no way to hike to the waterfalls but you can hike directly to the Alexandra Falls which are nearby (1.5h hike, medium difficulty, good shoes are important).

Such a beautiful place to go and see. It makes for a wonderful photo and would encourage those who are travelling to Mauritius, to go and see it! As others have mentioned, there are two viewing points, both as good as each other but can get quite busy.

We were on holidays in Mauritius and did a big tour starting with Chamarel and the waterfall. It was really beautiful and the landscape were nice. There is this tropical forest feeling which was great. Definitely worth to see and take pictures.

Chamarel Waterfall plunges down from a height of about 100 meters. It is a must-visit destination those visiting the neighboring seven-colored earth, has a few great viewing points from several positions on the opposite site of the valley and creates a truly magical experience.

Set in a beautiful valley with fishing boats at anchor in the bay a visit to the waterfall provides a stunning drive around the cost or over the dam and you are rewarded with a tranquil setting for a picnic. Easy parking.

Nice to look at for a couple minutes. The viewpoint is inside the park and cannot be accessed seperatley without paying the entrance fee of Rs 550 per person. Use enough mosquito repellent!

The Chamarel Waterfall left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the natural beauty of the surroundings is undeniable. The lush greenery and the cascading water make for a picturesque sight, and it's a great place for nature enthusiasts and photographers. However, my disappointment stems from the lack of accessibility and amenities. The trek to reach the waterfall is quite challenging, with steep and slippery paths. There are no proper facilities like restrooms or refreshment stalls nearby, which can be quite inconvenient for visitors. Additionally, the viewing area is crowded, which detracts from the serene experience I was hoping for. While the waterfall itself is beautiful, the overall visit was marred by the difficulty of getting there and the lack of visitor-friendly infrastructure. If you're up for an adventure and don't mind the challenges, Chamarel Waterfall is worth a visit. Otherwise, consider other, more accessible natural attractions in Mauritius.

Absolutely wonderful landscape is located in the southern part of Mauritius! This waterfall attracts a lot of people to itself with it's unreal beauty.

Chamarel Waterfall, located in the southwest region of Mauritius, is an awe-inspiring natural wonder that showcases the island's remarkable beauty. As an adventurer seeking the hidden gems of Mauritius, I was absolutely spellbound by the magnificence of this waterfall. Tucked away in the heart of the Chamarel plain, the waterfall plunges down from a height of about 100 meters, creating a breathtaking spectacle that captivates all who visit. Surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs, it offers a picturesque setting that is perfect for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. One of the most remarkable features of Chamarel Waterfall is the seven-colored earth nearby. The contrast between the vibrant hues of the earth and the dazzling white cascade of water is truly mesmerizing, creating a truly unique and unforgettable sight. To truly appreciate the splendor of Chamarel Waterfall, it is recommended to follow the hiking trail that leads to the viewpoint. The trail is well-maintained, but it might be challenging for those with mobility issues or for families with young children. It is worth noting that swimming is not allowed in the waterfall area, as the water flow can be quite strong. However, visitors can relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery at the designated viewing platforms. In conclusion, Chamarel Waterfall is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers visiting Mauritius. Its awe-inspiring beauty, combined with the neighboring seven-colored earth, creates a truly magical experience. Just remember to bring your camera, as this is a sight you won't want to forget.

Once you arrive to the chamarel adventure park you pay entrance and you have access to the waterfall, to the 7 colours, cocoa beans field etc etc.. it is worth it! You can view the waterfall or so a hike a d many other things.

Don't expect a huge waterfall or something. It's a touristic place but not too crowded. If you rent a car for a couple of days then you should visit this kind of places. Don't book this stuff on a tour because you can do this easily on your own.

It's a great place to see a splendid view of Chamarel waterfall and the 7 coloured earth as well take a hike in the ebony forest. The place has restrooms, souvenir shops as well as a little restaurant. Kids can walk around the 7 coloured earth and see the tortoise.

Lots of tourists. I don't know if it's possible to get any closer, apart from the viewpoint at the big parking lot.

A nice waterfall, included in the ticket for the "7 coloured earth", and quite picturesque. The tallest waterfall I've seen in Mauritius. Combined ticket for the waterfall and 7 coloured earth may feel a bit pricey (500mur), but in my opinion it was well worth it

  • 5/5 Anikó B. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice view of the waterfall. The park was clean an tidy.

  • 5/5 Péter B. 2 years ago on Google
It is in the national park of Chamarel. There is an entry fee to the park. If you go by car the waterfall is only a few minutes from the entrance. It is really nice and you will see it from quite some distance. There is an option to hike in the park but as it was pouring rain when we were there we skipped it. It can be busy and there arent too many parking slots around the waterfall.

You can park your car very close to the viewing platform. Views of the waterfall are spectacular. You can walk few steps up to the second viewing platform for even better photos. Well worth a visit!

A short stair hike up from the seven sand dune formation, is a great vantage point to see the Chamarel Waterfall. The weather was great when we went and hike was exhilarating. It was good tour to relax and enjoy.

Part of the 7 coloured earth so you have to pay to see but I found it more interesting than the seven coloured earth. Great pictures spot and I love all the layers and colours of green

Visited in October when the water is low. Apparently December is better, during the rainy season. But just looking from either of the decks doesn't really give you much. We thought you could swim at the bottom but our driver said that wasn't possible. That would have been a better experience.

A very scenic and beautiful place! Photos does not do it justice, a must visit place, photos come out great. There were people at the main viewing areas so may be a little wait until they have their photos but the queue moved quickly.

Pretty waterfall amongst lush greenery. You need to buy a ticket at the entrance of the park where you can drive up the winding road up to the car park by the warerfall. We walked there from our accommodation in the forest.

Fantastic waterfall, the views are just stunning. It has two viewpoints and a good sized parking place. You need to pay the entry to the Chamarel reserve.
