A very clean and beautiful beach on the western coast of Mauritius. The Le mourne mountain can be seen right in front of this beach. Dolphin and whale watching is a must do when around tamarin. It's a lovely and cherishing experience.

If you love long beach walks, then the walk from Volmar to Tamarin Beach,through the forest pathway that begins at the back of Sands Hotel, and ends just behind Tamarina Hotel, is a beautiful nature discovery in itself. Tamarin beach in itself is just to relax and let time pass by as not much else to do and not so sure about swimming either...

Tamarin Public Beach is a happening place with good restaurant around.

A stunning little beach. The sand can be hit and miss with coral, and it was not really a swimming area. However, the backdrop of the nearby mountains makes for incredible vistas and photographs.

Beautiful beach with spectacular view of the sea. Plus you have a store nearby that sells Flying Dodo beers which is super convenient. 😋

Great place for surfing, won't recommend swimming though because the waves are quite strong here. You can rent a surf board from the shop near the beach. If you go in water, do carry the beach shoes as there are many tree branches in the water that might hurt.

This beach isn't very nice, but is worth to visit, because of one beautiful place on it, from where you can make trip up trough black river by kayak, where I made my pictures...

Death in paradise. This beach has a dark past. The confluence of the sea and the river has a narrow channel that people have crossed and died in the process. It is signposted for that reason. I believe it's an issue with quicksand as it looks pretty shallow. With only 1 metre tidal range, it's not like a tidal bore. There are public facilities (wc) provided and a small car park, although it does get filled up by about 11am on a weekday.

Murky waters due to the mouth of the river. A lot of people trying to cross the river and not realising how deep it was. Lots of junior surfers learning which was great to see. I did a spot of fishing as was told the river mouth usually attracts sea fish looking for an easy dinner. A few fishermen accosted me trying to sell seats on their big game fishing trips. The coast felt dirty with a lot of wood chips and leaf litter washing up. Clearer waters to the north in Flic en flac.

This is such a fun beach. Depending on what day and time you go you will be able to float in the cool sea or body surf (yes at times there are big waves) Watch the surf lessons. Parents sitting around watching their kids. It's perfect to learn as the waves near the beach are soft and continue for long. Once you've got it you surf further out near the reef. I liked the vibe there. It's not the most beautiful beach ever but special with the river on the side and cute. Trees give shade there are some cheap foodstalls. But it felt more like this community - surf vibe then all the other places I found here so far

A very quite place the beach is not clean as the north beaches because the river joining the sea and the waves are sometimes quite not good for swimmers if weather is bad. Else a nice place to lunch and watch the sea.

Veranda Tamarin Hotel sits just across the beach and the public can enjoy a bite at Kas Dal Restaurant at the hotel. Splendid mountain, river and sea views makes for a calm and serene atmosphere to relax and unwind. The beach is not the ‘whitest’ (to say the least), and the sea is best known for surfing than swimming, but these are nature’s wishes.

A pretty beach with a great location and an awesome place to test out your MMA skills if you want to catch the wave of the day. While I don't like how my bits show when I wear lighter coloured shorts I feel i may need to invest in some to surf here. Crystal clear reeling lefts, and a fun shorey at the bottom of the bay.
