Place has been properly preserved. Fitness machines available for all ages. Crater of dormant volcano can be seen through some angles. Has a considerable amount of benches and toilet is paid but clean. View of buildings (horizon) is impressive and recommended for amateurs of photography. Entire crater could be seen using a Quadcopter. Parking is limited but available though.

This is a volcanic crater with a lake in the middle. The road has been built right till the top, so one can directly drive to the crater and enjoy the scenary from the mountain top. Couple of best things to enjoy here are the scenic views of the surroundings and the cool breeze/wind at the top. Majority of the crater is filled with trees but the lake in the middle is good to look at.

The travel agents highlight this place like it's one of 7 wonders of the world. Overhyped, you wouldn't appreciate the place unless you are fascinated by volcanoes. The volcano looks like a small pond , lush greenery surrounds the place .

Trou aux Cerfs is located in the heart of Curepipe, there you will find a dormant volcano surrounded by nature; a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species, some giant green pine trees, lush greenery, trees, flowers and a small lake at the center, I have never seen such beauty before. If it wasn’t a dormant volcano, I would have found my way down to lie on the untamed grasses and day dream about my prince charming but reality can be a pain in the butt sometimes. This is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius, the dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of around 100 meters. Interestingly, Trou aux Cerfs is also known as ‘Murr’s Volcano’. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs volcano erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700,000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Here, you can get some souvenirs from the locals at a very cheap and affordable rate and you get a spectacular view of some part of Mauritius from the view point of the crater, you also get to see the majestic view of the Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range. There is also their meteorological centre (radar station) close to this tour site so you can enjoy the view of the blue building and the blue clear sky. Team fitfam, this a favourite spot for joggers and walkers – you get lovely views of the plateau. There are benches where you can rest and reflect, and a radar station that keeps an electronic eye on cyclone activity. TRAVEL... it’s the only thing you buy that makes you RICHER Follow me on @tourwithswagger as you experience Mauritius through @gbogbo_swagger eyes!

Amazing place..... This massive attraction in the heart of Mauritius measures ( curepipe ) more than 980 feet in diameter and some 260 feet deep. Known for its humid climate and expansive 360-degree views,. Trou aux Cerfs Crater is a favorite spot among travelers seeking out natural beauty and quiet tranquility. While this dormant volcano hasn’t erupted in lifetimes, experts say it’s primed to blow any time in the next thousand years—a fact that lends a bit of edge to an otherwise peaceful excursion. I heard that, Trou Aux Cerfs is a german word which means (Hole of the deer.) The last eruption took place around the year 1200 and one can find many oak trees in and around the place. Just walkable distance from curepipe,

Another tourist trap. A volcano crater which is now fenced and surrounded by long trees which makes it impossible to see. it doesn't worth the trip to this place.

Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano and is one of my favorite places to see Mauritius. The volcano itself is not amazing at all but the view over Mauritius from this place is great. Moreover, this is a key place for Mauritius, as the crater was formed during the volcanic activity that created Mauritius. Curepipe, close to this volcano, is also a nice place in Mauritius, especially for textile and handicraft shops.

Trou Aux Cerfs is a famous tourist destination in Mauritius. This is a dormant volcano, located at a distance of approximately 30 minutes from Port of Louis. We had a beautiful panoramic view from the top and if you gaze down you can see opining of the dormant volcano covered somewhat with green algae.

The place is nice but the trees around the mouth of volcano are too long to be able to see it. There are only 2-3 spots from where it can be seen

Nice mark with cool view. Make all the circle walk to enjoy view from all sides and to catch the best spots of watching the water down. As well there are some entrence for trails to go down, but take under considartion theroad is very slipery, so it dangerous one.

Great place for jogging, walk or some fresh nature air. The place is surrounded by nature and its never that busy so you can appreciate a bit of peace there. The place however, can be made more attractive by building a high platform so one can appreciate the crater from high up and also the view and other areas from the crater. Either very good place for a bit of relaxation feeling.

(Translated by Google) The crater itself is nice to look at but not spectacular. The view from the top of parts of Mauritius is even more impressive. Generally there are no signs that leads through the partly very winding streets. The crater is largely fenced, if there is a possibility to go down hiking you will not find out. Public toilets are available.
