Best food we had in our two weeks holidays. A restaurant with only three tables as it is oriented to clients from the area that comes to take away. In fact, we found it by chance because we were nearby. To start with, they only accept cash. Something that, from my point of view, is a good metric to know how local the place is. Their menu has only Mauritius typical food, no fusion or wanna be stuff, simple but soulful. I would put even more stars if Google let me as everything was super tasty and flavorful. The restaurant has been managed by a lovely Mauritian couple since many years ago. According to them, they opened the restaurant under their house because their friends and relatives said that it would be criminal to not share such amazing dishes. If you pass by on the evening around 7pm their son Rahul will be around, he speaks perfect English so he can recommend you dishes and tell you what can his parents cook because, depending on the day and hour, sometimes they have dishes that are sold out. Rahul also will chat with you about the local life if you are open to it. An absolute must around the Flacq area!

We went there on an endeavour to find a truly local place to have dinner. The food was really delicious and freshly prepared by the lovely owner and her sister. This is a real family business! If you’re looking for home cooked food in a authentic and friendly place, this is the place to go 🙂
