MUST VISIT! Just the most magnificent place...what you call a hidden gem truly!!! Sophie has magic in her hands...every dish was yummmm and so very fresh! The place was so so thoughtfully done up and run with the help of her family. Such a wonderful place to experience a great meal in the middle of a mauritian village! So glad we made a stop here and got to experience this magical place which is Sophie's home! An absolute must visit...

By far the best food we had in Mauritius! Went there after seeing google reviews…since there were no menu photos we were expecting a very costly affair, but were pleasantly surprised at the affordable pricing! The setup is nice and chic. The service is friendly with nice suggestions. We ended up going twice in 3 days! Worth the visit!

Excellent restaurant in the most perfect setting. Well worth the taxi trip, Ricardo and his team are most welcoming and serve up truly local flavours. We were recommended Mamie Sophie as somewhere to try to get the true flavours of Mauritius and we were not disappointed - make sure you head here!

Had a very pleasant evening at Mamie Sophie. It’s a family restaurant where Sophie; the cook prepares everything obviously with passion. It feels like a little paradise in the middle of nowhere. Lovely setup in the garden. Seafood soup strong taste as should with enough seafood in it. Dorado prepared on local way was also very tasteful. Very decent price! and they are able to pick you up from your hotel/appartement with no extra charge. Advisable to do a reservation upfront because they only have 5 tables. Definitely one of the outstanding places in Mauritius.

Gorgeous food and garden, we found it on google maps when in Mauritius at Laguna hotel, had a gorgeous 3 course meal, with tasty appetisers which we had 2 plates full of. Thankyou so much for a lovely night, lots of nice red wine too, bought a bottle for our hotel 😀

Very cozy restaurant with a nice terrace. It is located next to a small village, there is a very peaceful and quiet place, but you need to get there by car. The food was excellent, we had fish/chicken curry and dessert.

Truly a hidden gem in the Central Flacq region! The restaurant is in this really cosy garden and only offers a few tables. This shows that they focus on quality and not quantity. They also prove that with the attention to detail and with the food. The food is simply amazing and they offer good vegetarian options.

If you Are looking for a Real mauritian experience and you Are fed up by the the Mainstream food of your Hôtel, this Restaurant is the Perfect spot for you! The Food is absolutly delicious. Authentic and traditional food cooked With Passion. The Service is amazing. Sophie is just Lovely and her sons as well which makes you feel like Home. You Are Sitting in the garden where several igredients are directly taken from. There is also a more than 100 year old avocado tree! Highly recommended!!

We absolutely enjoyed our dinner at Mamie Sophie! The setup in the garden is gorgeous. It was very peaceful there and accompanied by nice relaxing music. We had 2 starters: fisherman soup and palm heart salad (s. pictures), both amazing! Main courses were fish of the day and seafood plate that came with rice, salad and variation of sauces. There was a vanilla sauce that I'd never imagine combining with seafood but it was delicious 🤤 I told the staff that it was my fiance's birthday and they put a candle into his chocolate cake and turned out appropriate music, I really appreciated that. The chef came to say hi and if we very happy with the food, I loved this personal touch. The staff was friendly and attentive and all that for very reasonable prices (we paid around 50€ for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 desserts, water, beer and a glass of wine).

This restaurant is amazing - the food was the best we had in Mauritius and the garden setting is beautiful with perfect service. It was very reasonably priced. Excellent wine which complemented the dishes available. This restaurant is an absolute must if you are staying in this part of the island.

So happy we found this spot. True Mauritian cuisine, not French fusion like every other place. Wonderful hospitality, with welcome cocktails and complimentary aperitivos. The garden is gorgeous with ambient lighting and they have a lovely veranda. Seafood was superb, especially the crab soup and lobster. We were able to try breadfruit and cake fruit for the first time! Loved our experience, heartily recommend, it’s worth going out of your way for. 👌🏼
