Worst place i went to eat in my life. The food is nowhere as per the menu reference. Ordered a butter chicken and upon tasting, my boyfriend legit told me his mom makes better chicken curry than this at home. Really disappointed even with the nachitos. We had to pack the food to give to our pets at home. Waste of money. I guess the chefs need more training on how to better their cooking skills! Definitely not recommended!

Went for the Sunday brunch buffet today and I have to admit they definetly met every expectation of mine. Not only was there always food available in the serving area, it was constantly warm and delicious. Whenever I needed something the staff was more than happy to help me out. Very professional and effective team. Shout out to the manager 😂. The interior was stunning as well, located right next to one of the entrances of the bagatelle mall, it was warm and comfortable. I would definetly recommend to try out the Sunday brunch it's definetly worth the price however I suggest to come as early as possible before all the great seats are taken. Over all excellent food, excellent people, excellent service, definet recommend.

Not bad for a light lunch and nice interior. But apparently the food quality is not always up to standard, especially the guacamole burger and the muffins which didn't taste so fresh. Cheesecake is loaded with way too much chantilly cream. Lemon Meringue also very disappointing and pricey. BBQ plate was good, but steak sauce was a bit weird, chicken wings tasted great. Overall great place and service, hope food quality improves.

Terrible customer service by staff, substandard and happened every time we visited. The servers looked annoyed and unapproachable to the point it made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. No smiles, no greetings. Servers were also unattentive - not enough plates and cutlery were provided to our large group of over 10 people. Their attitude had made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against. Made us also wonder what had happened to Mauritian hospitality that we heard so much about. What a shame. Very disappointing. Will not return.

It's really disappointing. Went there for breakfast. It was so hot inside. The coffee was so hot and did not taste good like it was instant coffee from the kettle. Waiters did not even know what coffee it was. It's really bad for a coffee restaurant. 15 minutes after ordering the food they said that they don't have my wife's order and she needs to take something else. She could not find anything she liked and we were already so fed up that we just took the bill and left.

The food was delicious. Fries were crunchy and the bbq sauce inside the burger made the burger so great. Little tips, ask for chilli sauce.

Hello team, my family and I was a great fan of your food and today we are wanted to celebrate my son birthday but today we had the worst experience from your team. We waited more than 1 hour to get our orders. On 10 plate we ordered we got only 6 by the time I’m writing this. For example we order 1 jerk chicken salad and check below what we got. I don’t like to complain but this was really unpleasant for my family. Hope you can do better in the future

Food looked nothing like the menu. Everything was cold! Eggs Benedict is served on thin white bread, not the muffin. Nachito served with Doritos chips. Strawberry shake tasted like nothing but milk. Worse food I've had so far in Mauritius.

Been there after a while. Took a few things including their beef burgers. For the price their burgers are very small (kidsize but rs440+), sweet potato not properly cooked. Their chicken liver is very good, and service was great. But not worth it in the end

Expected something better when I ordered the nachitos than a packet of doritos loaded with cheese for more than Rs350. Used to enjoy eating at M&B but the quality has really gone down. Still a decent place for coffee and cakes but the main dishes really need some serious work.

Always heard that dessert was yummy.. Unfortunately couldn't try as we had a really bad time there.. Waited for 30mins to have our drinks (9 sprite & a jus),and waited more than 1h30 to receive only 7 dishes instead of 10. In the dishes received, 1 was wrongly served and 2 others things were missing like salads, sauce, onion rings etc..even after some finished there diner, the 3 missing order didn't arrived.. It's was awful.. Sure thing, will never go there again. And we were not the only client who had a bad time there.

Worst smoked marlin sandwich I ever had. It smelled foul, no taste at all and was definitely not fresh. We also got a table upstairs and the staff were literally standing right next to us during the whole meal. I understand that you need some staff upstairs to serve the tables, but why would you put you cutleries etc. in the middle of the room? They might as well grab a chair and join the table for a chat

Nachitos, butter chicken and burgers taste good. Lasagna was too dry inside but generous amount of mozzarella on top. Server very pleasant and rapid. Overall nice place to have a meal.

I arrived 09:50 on Thursday, Feb 2nd, 2023, there were only 2 other tables occupied and they seemed to have been served, already eating. What seemed to be the manager walked me to a table and as I was in a bit of a hurry, I right there ordered coffee and sandwiches even before I sat down. At 10:05 the man and the two ladies behind the preparations counter was hanging on the counter chatting, laughing and having a good time. None making me at least a coffee in the meantime. None. At 10:15 with still no coffee nor sandwich I got up and walked out. Will not visit them again.

Been there few times for breakfast. They have nice range of breakfast meals and is tasty. Staff is very kind and fast. There is only one thing I can advice, changing their table spoon, fork, knife. !!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!! HORRIBLE FOOD!!! NO VALUE FOR MONEY!!! VERY POOR QUALITY FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Upon arrival, no waiters were available to assist us, we had to find a seat by ourselves. After being seated, we had to wait for a very long time before a waiter brought the menu to our table and waited even longer before being served. The waiter who took our order, a lady (foreigner), was quite cold towards us and didn't communicate properly. She took wrong orders: I ordered a steak fully COOKED and the steak was medium cooked and still got blood in it. On top of that, the food on the menu is NOTHING like the food being served. My friend was served in a dirty bowl and the food looked HORRIBLE and DISGUSTING to even eat. My friend's food was TASTELESS and looked like Dog Food while the Mayonaise I got with my UNCOOKED steak was frozen and only after I finish my meal did it melt. I forgot to mention that the same waiter who took our order also just threw the plate on the table which was unbelievable. However, we complaned about the meat being uncooked and another waiter took it back but when he gave us back the steak it was slightly cooked and still bloody. In a nutshell, we had the WORST EXPERIENCE at Mugg & Bean Bagatelle, very poor quality food and service (which doesn't even deserve that 1 star). WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THERE AGAIN.

I really don't get the hype. I've had a burger and nachitos there. The burger was bland and dry while the nachitos are basically doritos covered up in melted cheese. The food is overpriced for no reason.

Service definitely needs improvement - very bad. Also, I don’t understand how an establishment with 22h as closing time, turns you away as from 21h20 and states that you can only order if you plan on taking the food away and not eating it there, even only where cake is concerned. If that is the case, then change the closing time, stop disappointing customers.

Disappointed and disgusted!!! These are the two words that best describes my experience. I ordered a lamb steak, literally the worst steak I’ve had. Not only was it not fresh, it tasted like it was defrosted and not even grilled properly on the outside. The salad that came with it was not fresh at all. When I asked the manager why was I served cold steak, she proceeded to heat the steak in a microwave and bring it back to be just as cold. The wings are overcooked and definitely not fresh either. On a good note, I had the sweetest waiter which made the evening better. I really hope you guys work on the quality of your food!!!

Great place for a quick meal. Excellent well trained staff. Fast service on all requests and you don't have to wait long when you need a waiter. They have a bottomless coffee, and what I expect is one of the worlds largest chocolate chip cookies. Food here has always been good, well prepared and we'll presented.

I wouldn't usually leave a negative review for a restaurant, but today I had a really poor experience at Mug and Bean. We waited around for over 15 minutes without anyone coming to give us a menu, and the staff were just standing around not doing anything and there weren't even that many people in the restaurant, so it's not like they were too busy to take our order. It was really disappointing. It's high time to hire some professional workers.

Oh the disappointment. While the kids menu was more than palatable, it's the false advertising and misleading information that gets to me. "Our potato & sweet potato fries are locally sourced" is a plain lie, except if it means "sourced from the frozen section of local distribution chains". If these sweet potatoes are locally grown and prepared, I'll buy a straw hat and eat it.. It'll probably have more of a character than the painfully bland buttermilk chicken burger. Zero identity, completely forgettable. The Jerk chicken and wild rice is also a misnomer unless our friends at Mugg and Bean don't know the difference between wild rice and brown rice. Oh, and the menu picture featured three generous, plump skewers. What we got were a pair of sad, deflated ones. The lowest point was the absence of any form of chili. A real sacrilege. This would have been the CPR for the lifeless burger. Such a shame for the price charged. As for the service, I apologise to the waitresses whom we disturbed by our presence. The chairs with the torn upholstery were comfortable enough.

Wilted lettuce In the bun. A dry hard hash brown and cold grilled tomato In the side. The food I was served was cold, I ordered a chicken burger and the chicken inside was colder than the bread itself, the service isn’t that great either, they don’t really have manners they don’t greet you like you’re supposed to get greeted in restaurants, I didn’t get a “hello” they don’t smile at you etc the vibe isn’t really it. In terms of taste the food isn’t the best neither it was quite bland and for the price my expectations were higher than what I actually got. I don’t recommend and I don’t think I will be returning.

This carrot cake was really amazing...especially for people like me who do not like frosting on their cakes. People who prefer else way may not like the buttercream frosting as cream cheese is usually used on carrot cakes

Really disappointed with the service provided by M&B. After 1 year I was meeting my 2 best friends and we decided to go for breakfast at M&B. We were nicely welcomed by a smiling gentleman who seated us, handed out the menu to us and took our orders (First Impression). We ordered 2 cappucinos, 1 americano, 1 california omelette and 2 Big Bens with soft egg yolks. Our coffees came first and by the time we got our food, our coffees already went cold. The issue started after we got the 2 Big Bens. Both Big Bens came with steamed eggs. The yolks were hard and the whites were runny. I called the gentleman serving us and asked if we could get our eggs poached, not steamed with the egg yolks runny and the whites cooked. He told us it is impossible to get the egg whites cooked and the yolks runny. He took our plates and came back with the same plates with just the eggs removed, with the snotty egg whites running down on the rest of the food on the plates. Few minutes later I was served 2 eggs on the sides and this time it was worse than the first ones. Again the eggs were steamed, this time the yolks were soft but the whites were completely liquid. I called the waiter and asked for a manager, who came and assisted us. I explained to him the issue and we showed him the undercooked steamed eggs. He insisted that the eggs were poached. We showed him a picture of a poached egg and he told us that's not a poached egg. I showed him the eggs served again and told him it is impossible to eat this and I kindly asked him if he could get them done properly and get the whole plates changed as everything on them went cold already. The third time our egg benedicts came, they were PERFECT. The manager and a lady personally asked us if they were okay this time. I guess it was a different chef who knows what poached eggs are who made them. But then we noticed from then on, the waiter never came to check on us, cleared one of my friend's plate while 2 of us were still eating. Once we were done, the rest of the plates were cleared and we were finishing our 2nd cup of coffee, the gentlemen serving us didn't even ask us if we would like something else which we were planning to. We felt like we were wanted out of the restaurant as soon as possible (Last Impression). Being an expert in customer service, I would suggest M&B to train their staffs more on proper customer service. The staffs and the manager were very polite to us but there are more than just being nice about customer service. I know nobody likes complaining customers but at no time someone checked even after we were done if we were satisfied with the rest of the service. The first and the last impression staffs give to customers are keys to a happy customer and a successful day. All we asked was for our eggs to be cooked properly and it took 3 attempts to nail a poached egg. I am giving a 2 star for the 'First Impression', the smile and the kindness of your staffs and the efforts they made to satisfy our requests after 2 times not getting our eggs right. -3 stars for completely ignoring us after, for the chef who doesn't know what poached eggs are, for ruining my experience at M&B with my friends, for the lack of customer service training to your staffs and for the 'Last Impression'. Kindly take this review as a constructive feedback to improve on your customer service trainings. This is a whole situation which could have been avoided and this review would not exist. Regards

The restaurant's look is nice. The staff is very friendly especially the foreigners. However, the food that I ordered was not tasty. I ordered a smoked chicken wrap. The chicken tasted odd and the wrap was over grilled. Did not enjoy it. Presentation was so so. Will not return. Actually went there as all the other restaurants were full.

The servings was bad and the food was horrible. I asked for an avocado burger and there was no avocado inside the burger. There was no flavors on the beef, it was like eating raw beef with no spices or anything. Also the steak, beef,sausage, everything smell so bad, like raw beef. I had to wait more than 15min for a refill and there was only 2 tables booked, so it was practically empty. I was so excited to eat there but was met with lots of disappointment. It was such a waste of money and time. The food was definitely not worth a single penny spend. I won't go there again.
