Taberna La Popular is the place to go in Ericeira for octopus “a la gallega” and other Spanish tapas. A cozy restaurant in this sea village, tucked in a typical jagoza tavern just off the main drag. Varied menu, well balanced flavours, affordable pricing and fun front of house staff who make it feel like home. The perfect place for friends to meet and chat over food. Go for the octopus, fried potatoes with black garlic and pray the kitchen has almond cake from Santiago de Compostela. It’s spectacular. The local wine are very delicious too! Obrigada :-)

Best restaurant in Ericeira with no doubt! It started when we entered this place, such a warm and cozy atmosphere. We were greeted by the lovely owner and given a cute menu written on a notebook sheet. This was already a great start to a lovely dining experience! The Tapas was out of this world, undoubtedly the best I have ever had. It's hard to pick a favourite or even three favourite dishes as everything was just so top notch! We can highly recommend the octopus, Iberico ham/croquettes, tuna salad & their surprisingly delicious black Garlic potatoes! Be sure to make a reservation at this place, it is small so it doesn't have many tables (which adds to the coziness). We had to make a reservation 2 days in advance to land a table, but it was completely worth doing so. If you are in Ericeira you must try this restaurant out if you can, will 100% be back next time!

Really good food, prices, service, vibes. They were really nice. If I really try the only bad thing I can think about is the chairs that some of them are not so comfortable.

Easily the best experience during our 6 month trip through Spain and Portugal. Funny that we had to travel to Portugal to try the best Spanish food. Atmosphere is perfect, the cutest little restaurant and the food is great. Service is impeccable. We will be back!

Cute taberna run by a lovely Spanish couple. Their hospitality was heartwarming and the food was delicious. Small menu with fine food. Can highly recommend.

I love this place! During my one week in Ericeira last September, I went 3 times. A married couple from Spain are the owners and are so very kind and friendly! Me gusta vino y comida aquí!

We we're fortunate enough to stumble across this gem on our way home last night, and quickly decided we had to have dinner here. Booking was made for tonight snd we were rewarded with the best octopus with potatoes dish and croquettes. Service was great. Christina and Sandra are the most welcoming and kind hosts. We're already plotting our next visit.

AMAZING!!! Probably the best restaurant I have had in Portugal Price/Quality wise. Everything was just incredibly tasty. Very fairly priced too. I wish I stayed longer so I could have gone twice to try the other tapas. Definitely try the croquetas and the mousse de foie gras, just so so good!!
