Joao is the best! We were a group of 6 on Wed 7/26 and 5 on Fri 7/28. We came back for more! Joao is incredibly patient and adept at teaching beginners. He was able to navigate a strong current and a huge crowd of other surf schools in our Wed session — not an easy feat! This was such a great experience. Highly recommend!

I have tried several surf schools before, but this one is by far the best I've ever experienced. They boast an excellent teaching system and top-notch equipment. The organization is superb, and the lessons are always conducted in safe conditions, filled with fun and tailored to improve your surfing skills. I've never made as much progress as I have here. A huge thank you to Ericeira Waves. Highly recommended!

My lessons with Bruno and Hugo were the absolute highlights of my recent trip to Portugal! I was there for 12 days. I originally planned to spend a day in Ericeira and signed up for a single lesson on a whim. It was such a great experience, I ended up staying in Ericeira longer to take 4 more lessons! I did group and private lessons. Both were great, but I’d recommend private lessons if you want more attention and coaching. I went from barely being able to stand on the board to actually catching green waves in a week! Bruno in particular was the perfect coach for me - super enthusiastic, really positive, and he gave me tons of quick and helpful feedback. Next time in I’m in Portugal, I’m definitely signing up for more lessons!

My son Anur is 13 years old and is surf mad. Seeking warm waters we took him to Ericiera last year and bumped into Bruno on the last day of our stay as we were renting an apartment in his neighbourhood. We stayed in touch and booked private lessons with Bruno from July 9 through 21. Photos tell how it went. Anur was in water every day for two weeks. Anur says “Bruno is the best coach. From etiquette on waters to safety, fun, rules, timing, and inspirational stories…I wish all teachers were like him”. Bags are being packed for a few days in October! Thank you Bruno.

João was my surfing maestro/instructor and he is really the best. Joao will get you up on a surfboard within minutes after sharing key surfing foundation rules and safety information. With him you will be riding waves in minutes and you will have proper fun as he will teach you other tricks too... I had private lessons with João, it was amazing! 🥳João is fantastic surfing instructor, he has a lot of patience and I would definitely do it again for the next year with Maestro João😇. Thanks to him a lot, he made my holiday! The Ericeira Waves school is an amaizing place, everybody are very friendly and we meed great new people! Highly recomend João and The Ericeira Waves school. Bruno was a fantastic instructor who has a passion for teaching. As a fitness professional, I truly appreciated the way he gave specific feedback that helped improve my surfing technique. Moving forward, I'll hear his 'focus' in my head, as I approach a wave.

We had group lessons for 5 days with João as our coach. He did a really fantastic job, and we had so much fun with our group! 😁 We've met so many great people there, from London, the Netherlands, and so on... It was an awesome experience. Hope that we can come back soon for more surfing lessons with João. 😉
