Having done a wine tasting a few years back I would highly recommend visiting their museum and just take in the whole atmosphere of the place. Just to hear their passionate story and effort put into reviving this ancient tradition was more than worth the money , but adding a wine tasting alongside some local produce ( including grapes ) was an experience to remember forever . Highly recommend and unlike us do visit their restaurant next door as the place is amazing and food looked great ! Will need to return and do it all again next year now :)

This place is magic. The food is unbelievable delicious. The owner Mr. TONY is the best the you can receive in your lifetime. You must visit this place before you die.

Stopped here 3 years ago and botched that review. We had lunch here. The food was amazing, and the wine was delicious. After lunch, they kindly invited us to view their traditional wine making process with the Roman urns. It as totally unexpected. Like, "oh, and here's where we make the wine" right next door. It was very memorable - if you are in the area, it is well worth a visit.

They call it a museum but it's a living museum where they still produce their own wine. In Cella Vinaria Antiqua you can learn how 'Talha' wine is produced and best of all you can try it in the end or have it with a nice meal (with traditional food from Alentejo) in 'Pais das Uvas' restaurant just next door. Mr. Honrado will take good care of you.

I heard about this place some months ago and I wasn't sure about what to expect. Now I can say you can't skip visiting this unique place and travel to the past! I loved the food and the staff there was great!

(Translated by Google) A unique place where people can find wine tourism rich in tradition, culture and history. The space has a vast collection of objects used in the process of making the carved wine, which is nominated for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. A repetir.

Very interesting place to visit. Joana was giving us a great insight in the traditional wine making process and it was really good! The place itself is very impressive with the massive antique containers! Well done :)

I had the immense pleasure of spending a couple of hours at Cella Vinaria Antiqua this evening. Isabel our guide was exquisite. We had trouble finding the place but are we ever glad we did. We tried 4 talha wines paired with cheese, olives, chorico and Alentenjo bread and learn about the talla wine making process. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a truly authentic experience. (Tip for anyone trying to find this amazing place - it’s at the top of hill)

Joana greeted us and shared some history of this historical adega which still produces wine in the talha method. Everything about our visit was great and Joana was so gracious! Definitely worth a visit!! Obrigado Joana!
