Rented a Hyundai Accent for a family of 4 with 6 carry-on bags, plus the cooler. The car was clean, great mechanical condition and SAFE tires. Electronics worked fine and without problems. From the car research availability to reserving - it was extremely easy. The checkout and inspection process was quick yet thorough. I was encouraged to video and/or video the walk-around... which I did. I was not pressed to purchase options- which was very welcoming, and I consider professional (since I waived all options). Overall, I am very pleased with my decision, and reading some of the recent reviews to help guide my decision. Thank you Crystal Auto Rental for playing a part in my family's vacation.

Highly recommend renting from Crystal. It was our first time visiting Belize and this car rental company was recommended by members of the Belize FB groups. I rented on-line and had several follow up questions. The good thing is that they had a US contact number and WhatsApp phone number. We were first going to spend a week in San Ignacio, drop off the car, then travel to San Pedro, go back to Belize City & rent a car to spend 9 more days in Placencia & Hopkins. We didn’t know whether we were going to fly to San Pedro or take the water taxi. The customer service agents were helpful and let me know that they can drop us off for free at the Ferry Terminal. We just had to drop off the car at the Belize City main office. We can let them know a day before drop off what we decided to do. I corresponded with them via WhatsApp and decided to take the water taxi to San Pedro. We dropped off the car in the main office and it is very convenient that we didn’t have to move our luggage from the car. After my husband checked out of the office, a representative drove us to the Ferry dock. When we came back from San Pedro Ferry dock, a Crystal Representative was already waiting for us with our vehicle. He was very nice and gave us tips and recommendations. We did not rent a 4WD since the Crystal agents said that we didn’t need it during dry season in Belize City to Placencia and Hopkins. Our flight back to the US was in the morning. We left Hopkins very early on Sunday morning and arrived at around 7:30 am at the airport. We parked the car in front of the Crystal office and dropped off the key in the office drop box. I then texted the office on WhatsApp to let them know. I received an acknowledgment. Overall, we had excellent experience with the customer service and the 2 vehicles we rented.

We got a good reliable vehicle. The main office was very slow and didn't have the paperwork ready for our pick up. The stamp that we needed wasn't working so we waited 30 minutes for them to fix it. The main office was disorganized and busy. When we dropped off the rental at the Airport office everyone was attentive and organized. We had no problems with the rental and they didn't charge us any hidden fees. The paperwork process was very long and tedious. They go slower in Belize. I would still recommend this company. FYI- if you're going to Guatemala, have them explain that you need to bring their currency and be aware of all the crazy fees they will charge you just crossing the boarder.

We rented 2 `16-`17 Dodge Journey - 7 Passenger SUVs for Nov. 28 - Dec 1 for our group of 12 people. Great experience and great price. I booked from the US and emailed them to help me with the online reservations. They were so responsive and helpful! We picked up from the Belize City location (they gave our entire group a free transfer from the water taxi terminal - a van was waiting for us when we got off the taxi from Caye Caulker), and pick up was easy and painless. They also have a neat office / museum there! We drove to San Ignacio, stayed there for three days, then came back. The cars were clean and in excellent condition; we did not have any issues at all the entire journey. They require for you to fill the gas at one of two specifics kind of has stations, but we had no trouble finding those on our route. We returned both cars to the airport office; I stayed behind to return them while the rest of my group went to the airport, and the return process was so easy that I finished and was in the airport with my group before they even got to the front of the check-in line. Highly recommend this rental company! Also, for whatever it's worth, my in-laws apparently also used Crystal when they traveled to Belize 10+ years earlier. I took a lot of photos in case I needed to argue about anything at the return, but I've since deleted them after the return was so easy and I didn't need to prove anything. Traveled in November 2021, rented 2 Dodge Journeys, picked up at BZE City and returned at the airport.

FRAUDULENT CAR RENTAL!!!!!!!Beware So you pay a Collision waiver for a rental and they hold your 1250 USD deposit. This company is dishonest and are some double dippingScammers If I could give this Rental company a 0%rating I would. very deceitful. So you pay a huge deposit for a motor vehicle along with Collision Damage yet you are not covered for any accidents or fender benders. The owner and General Manager are completely obnoxious and unprofessional. This is all about making money holding your deposit as ransom. Its sad that Belize does not have laws and a Better Business Bureau to make a complaint against them. I would highly advice Tourists and All American Families do not rent vehicles from these people. Stick with brands that we know.

Great service

This place is great- very fair pricing, great staff, and they’ll pick you up/dip you off where you need to go. Also, they provide you with a free local cell phone to use in case you need to make some calls on the road. The jeep was a perfect car for Belize, could handle any road we went on through jungle, river, and forest, but ours was only 2wd, so I can’t say how it would be in rainy season (pictures below of car, not rental place)

The shuttle driver was amazing, helping us retrieve our luggage at the water taxi terminal and provide great guidance as it was my first time driving in Belize. The car was clean and well maintained and we appreciated having a cooler. Highly recommended for all your car rental needs.

Highly recommend Crystal! Fair prices and super easy to work with. They even arranged to pick us up (in our rental car) from the ferry terminal. They suggest that you take a video when you’re first picking up your car and I definitely recommend you do that. The deposit was back in my bank account the same week we returned the car too.

I compared the three major Belizean rental agencies, and Crystal provided the most competent service as well as a very good rate. The actual rental and return of the car was very smooth and professional, and they provided a free shuttle between their office and our hotel. As an aside, Crystal seems to be the only agency that allows you take a car across the border. We went to Tikal (Guatemala) with our car and they made sure all the paperwork was in order.

Pickup & return were very smooth and the lady assisting us at pick-up saved us cab fair and an hour of our vacation by asking us about our plans and suggesting we return the car to the Belize City location rather than to the airport. The car was basic, but the Air Conditioning worked like a champ and we had zero problems with it. Plus, it's much less expensive than the national chains. I'll use them again if back in Belize.

Just another happy customer writing a review for Crystal's! We needed a rental car that was in good working condition for our trip from Belize City to San Ignacio and got just that. Straightforward online booking process. Website was transparent about vehicle rental pricing, which we found to be more than fair in comparison to Avis/Budget/major companies. Best of all, we were always able to connect with the rental representative, Yvette, who was helpful and prompt in replying to all of our questions via WhatsApp.

This rental agency is amazing and worthy of every 5-star review it receives, including this one! We picked up our car after taking the ferry ride from Caye Caulker to the dock. Their driver was supposed to meet us at the dock, and then drive us to the office, but didn't show up. We took a cab ride to their city office, which cost $25 US -- quite high just to go five miles. When we got to the office, the lady who checked us in was apologetic, called the driver to see what happened (we never did find out), and promptly handed us a $50 Belize bill to reimburse us, no questions asked. They made the process so easy. When we dropped the car off at their airport location, the man who checked us in was friendly and chatty, looked the car over, had me sign a form and we were on our way. They are so honest and caring, it's unbelievable! Best of all, they don't charge you for extra insurance you don't need, like they do in Mexico. If your credit card covers you for additional damages (like ours) that's good enough for them. We declined all the optional coverages and paid the agreed upon price which we booked online. I would definitely use Crystal again the next time we visit Belize. You should too because their service sparkles.

Great car rental experience! They made it as easy as possible to cross the border into Guatemala with all the appropriate paperwork. We definitely had some adventures with our Jeep in Belize and Guatemala and it held up nicely!

They stayed open when we were late, they picked us up from the port, they were extremely helpful with extra advice and the car was perfect for a reasonable price. This was by far my best experience with a rental car company in all my travels. Easy check in process, the staff was super friendly. They even gave us a free shuttle over to the water taxi station. We were running late and they made it their mission to get us there on time and we did! Seriously 5 star experience with Crystal Auto!

Wow, we are really impressed with Crystal Auto. We rented a vehicle for 11 days, knowing they were a little more expensive than other companies but have a great reputation. Upon return of the vehicle they went above and beyond to make something right that they really didn't have to. We wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again.

Probably the best choice in Belize for rental cars, that's more the best of bad options than anything. Our car was older than we were promised when we booked. It was pretty beat down. The pick up and drop off procedures take way too long, plan on an hour. The drop off was especially chaotic. I didn't find the workers all that friendly.

We booked with Avis but they didn't have a vehicle for us so we were sent to Crystal Auto Rental which was a blessing for us. The staff at Crystal were friendly and knowledgeable, the check out process was quick but thorough and the return process was quick and painless as well. I would strongly recommend Crystal Auto Rental for your vehicle needs in Belize.

Rented a car for 3-4 days in Belize to drive from Belize City to Hopkins and thus avoid huge airline costs and a 5+ hour crowded bus ride without bathroom breaks. Great experience! We were picked up from the ferry station and brought to the rental office all the while getting a driving in Belize tutorial. On drop off, we were brought back to our hotel from the rental office. I've never rented a car in another country, and Crystal certainly made the process quite smooth.

Great, easy process and a reliable SUV. They picked us up at the water taxi terminal and patiently waited for our luggage to be unloaded, before driving us to the office to complete paperwork. We dropped off at the airport. Their staff were efficient and pleasant, and the vehicle was in great shape with no problems.

The process was easy and the rental was reasonably priced. We did have the vehicle break down during our stay, but a replacement vehicle was delivered right away to our location 2 hrs from where we rented it. The process was simple and quick. I highly recommend this company.

I highly recommend the Crystal Auto location at the airport. Our car was in perfect shape. The pick up location at the airport was very convenient, and the workers there were extremely helpful, polite, and professional. I wouldn't go to the other location again though. It was in a neighborhood that didn't feel super safe, and the person who took us to our ferry took us to the wrong one and we had to pay a porter to walk us to the other ferry location because it's in a bad neighborhood. Seems like a little more communication could be useful there.

Crystal Auto is the only place we will rent from when we are in Belize. The customer service, especially from Rina, exceeded our expectations. We had, what could have been a stressful situation, and she calmly helped us work through it. The cars are clean and in top notch working order. Truly a friendly and informative company that made our trip so much better.

Overall best rental experience! I had read good things about this company from someone’s blog, but I thought they would be closed because of their hours listed and my United flight was one of the last. As I headed to my reservation at another rental spot, I noted their lights on and someone in the Crystal office, so I decided to check it out. They said they’ve started to stay open a bit later for the last flight. My luck! I decided to rent with them. The process was super smooth. The customer service, superb! The rates are the best! They aren’t pushy with the extras as some other rental places can be. I like that they also offer you a cooler to use for free with your rental. The vehicle was in excellent shape. The return process was smooth as well and they gave me a courtesy ride to the ferry. I highly recommend!

Beware of this car rental. They took $1,250 USD as deposit and didn't refund it back. I happened to check my credit card and noticed no refund after 3 weeks! This is super shady way to make money off of people. What if I had not checked my credit card statement!!!
