I don’t know that Gloria was counting on serving anyone when we showed up…but she graciously welcomed us and made a place for us, and then we had some of the best fish we’ve had in Belize. It was such an interesting experience and so good! Our brief interactions with her left me feeling like a good mom hug. In case you are new to Belize when you read this - I believe it’s common for open/closed hours to be very flexible for restaurants like this. They might not look open, but they usually are or just might be up for serving you even if they had planned to be closed. :)

A Hopkins highlight for sure! The food was delicious!!! Authentic Garifuna cooking! If you contact Chef Gloria she has an amazing cooking class for a reasonable fee.

I ordered the chicken kabob plate. Blown away by the flavor and homeliness of this place. The meal was prepared fresh by order, home cooked. Reasonably priced, and extremely nice service!

Incredible food, Gloria the owner was incredible. I am a chef and we talked and she gave me some secrets. It is a traditional Garifuna restaurant and the food is out of this world

If you want to truly authentic experience this is the place to go. Aunt Gloria and her niece are very hospitable and will guide you through their menu!! if you find yourself in Hopkins this place is a must.

Really nice local place to have breakfast or dinner. She have really great home bread Wich is super light and fried ,really like it.

We heard that Gloria won "A taste of Belize" twice and was chosen to cook for Prince William & Princess Kate when they visited Belize. We had high expectations and were not disappointed when we were served Hudut, a traditional coconut fish soup with mashed plantain. An exceptional lunch. Our two grandchildren got toasted peanut butter and honey and were just as happy as we were with the meal. Highly recommended.

We were on the hunt to try a local dish called hadut and had to ask around town and were directed to Glorias. We were a bit late in the evening and I believe they were closed but she made us some anyways. It was so good and they were just wonderful people. Thanks Gloria and Christy. We would love to come again next time We come to Hopkins!

We did a cooking course in Hopkins with Chef Gloria and not only fell in love with the food, but her and her family as well. It was a fantastic hands on experience and the Garifuna speciality Hudut was fantastic!

Had a wonderful experience with Gloria and her fabulous restaurant. Her meals were delicious, loved the shrimp, pork and chicken. Definitely put her restaurant on your must try.
