Where do I start!? We did the hike, rappel down Antelope Falls, and the zip lining. What an amazing day! Our guides, Kevin and Carlos were awesome! They were very informative and very safety oriented with everything we did. They taught us so much while on the hike about the rainforest and the wildlife. We even got to experience the awesome sounds of a howler monkey. That day made some unforgettable memories for us. Thank you!!

I'm tempted to give them one star. We were there in mid-December 2021. The room was fine and the grounds were photogenic and well maintained, but the restaurant was another story. Their prices were clearly listed, with service charge and tax specified. But then they overcharged, with every meal. I know they will say I didn't understand the different charges. That's a cop out. I did the math, which wasn't hard. They cheat, period. Not a little - considerably. So we spent a night without being able to relax and enjoy it. This nickel-dime scam can ruin a the reputation of a business, so if it's the management choosing to do this, they need to clean up their act.

This place is truly magical. The staff, the food, the atmosphere and activities were incredible. I will be back and I'll bring more friends! Thank you to Denver, Chef, Sandy, Harrison and the servers that took wonderful care of us💜

Great jungle experience. There are 9 ziplines in the jungle, several are pretty long so it takes over 90 mins. The platforms are mostly not high as the use the natural hillside for the runs, if high towers make you nervous this would be a good place. We did the smaller waterfall abseiling, great fun again not too scary, though I heard the bigger waterfall is more of a challenge.

BRING GOOD BUG SPRAY. I couldn’t sleep the bug bites were so intense (over 40 on my left leg alone even with bug spray use). The manager was very accommodating for us, so was the one waiter, Ragnar, and the guides for the adventures are good (Roni was our favorite). But I’ve been sitting here at the only restaurant, literally just my husband and I in the entire place, and the waitress hasn’t come to ask if we want drinks or menus for over 20 minutes because she’s talking to a guy. We asked her multiple times for drinks that we never got last night when there was only 2 other couples in the restaurant. I was a waitress all through college so I have a tolerance, but this is terrible service. The guy who organized our trip was very disorganized and we had no idea what time our pre-planned tours were. We almost missed out on the ATM cave because of it and we did miss our zip line tour. Also, there’s no air conditioning. An alarm just went off (it’s now 2am) but it only went off 5 times and we have no idea who and want number to call. And a cockroach was in our room.

I had the time of my life here. Everybody here is super friendly and easy going. The food was great and every morning and evening I was there I would look forward to eating. The hiking trails were incredible with unrivaled views. Not to mention all of the beautiful wildlife I saw in the resort. To anyone staying in Belize I would strongly recommend staying here for the complete Belizean experience.

Where do we start? My wife, mother, and I had a wonderful experience at Bocawina. What an incredible place! It's absolutely marvelous. An Eco lodge inside a national park. The people were wonderful, the activities were a blast, the grounds are stunning. Highly recommend!

Great location. The waterfalls, repelling, night hike, and zip lines are a must! The room and housekeeping were great. Meals were a little frustrating because you could only order from the menu when they didn't have groups there even though we were told did was included and the menu were the did options. With that, the food was good but you have no options most of the time. The other issue was the front desk. We would ask for things and no communication back. We also had an issue with our ride to the airport at the end of our stay. We agreed on a price for a ride to the airport and a stop at the zoo they tried to change the price the day of by a lot. They ended up doing the right thing but it was frustrating.

spent a few nights here in March. beautiful location with lots of hiking and waterfalls along with zip lining and rappelling. the food was very good. the staff is very friendly and accommodating. they did not have an off-site Mayan tour that I hoped to go on so they managed to book me with another company and set up the drop off and pickup. I just can't say enough about how nice everyone that I met in Belize was in every situation. Not just workers but local people that you would meet hiking or in a grocery store in Dangriga. Great experience all around.

Bocawina and the staff are wonderful! The room had the basic necessities and the bed was comfortable. I can’t imagine any of the rooms having a bad view as the beauty of the jungle and the well manicured grounds were incredible. We had many activities to choose from, so our days were full. The hike to Antelope Falls with rappelling and zip lining was the best! Our guides, Ronnie and Kevin, made sure to explain all the necessary safety steps. I felt safe through all activities. Birdwatching with our guide Roberto opened me up to a new hobby. The hikes you can do on your own are well maintained. We hiked up to Bocawina Falls and enjoyed wading in the water. All meals are provided at the Wild Fig Restaurant. Cesar and his team were gracious and the food was good. The front desk staff were super accommodating. We arrived early, but they welcomed us and shared some hikes we could do while we waited for our room to be ready. Thank you Bocawina staff!

We did the full-day zipline and Antelope waterfall rappel tour and it was amazing. The rappel tour starts with a steep hike up to a beautiful small waterfall pool for an incredibly refreshing swim after the jungle hike. You can climb the falls on the right and jump from the cliff. Afterwards we started the rappel down over the edge of Antelope falls getting to 90-degrees at some points. While the actual rappelling distance was very short, it was none-the-less extremely exhilarating and not for anyone afraid of heights! Afterwards you can eat lunch at the restaurant on-site (not included in the price) and then we started the zip-lining tour. This was a lot of fun as well, with several high platforms and long runs. All of our guides were very professional and friendly. I can highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for adventure. Some notes: The tour price does not include admission ($5-USD each) to the Mayflower Bocwina National Park. You can purchase a round-trip shuttle to and from Hopkins if you do not have a car like us (the vehicle was clean and comfortable). They have locked individual storage areas for your valuables and changing rooms. Water was also provided on both tours.

We had a group of four stay at Bocawina for three nights with the all inclusive package that incudes on-site activities. The property is beautiful and there are some nice hikes to some beautiful and swimmable water falls. The rooms are rustic but clean and spacious. The staff was great, especially Vanessa and Axel in the restaurant. The food is decent and cocktails are good. We did enjoy our stay, but had some issues with communication and on-site activities. Before our trip we set-up a guided night hike for our first night on-site. Upon arrival, we were told there were no guides available, so we couldn’t do the hike that night. Additionally, prior to the trip we were told rappelling, ziplining, and bird watching could not be booked in advance but they were available daily, and we simply had to sign up at the front desk to do them. When we arrived we asked to do the rappelling and bird watching the following day, but we were told these activities were not available this day. This was very frustrating and caused unnecessary stress during our stay because this was contrary to what we were told multiple times leading up to the trip. Luckily, we were able to book the rappelling, ziplining, and night hike on our last day on-site, even if it would be fitting a lot into one day. The issue with these excursions was we were paired with a group of 12 other guests. This made each excursion much longer than expected and really took away from the experience because of the extremely slow pace and lack of personal feel. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, but I would not personally recommend Bocawina because of the aforementioned issues. Update: management said they would reach out to me personally to discuss the issues I mentioned, but they have not. I therefore would assume the issues our group ran into are not uncommon.

Perfect for getting away - it's secluded with beautiful scenery and animal life and nature type activities. The hikes or treks to the various falls are challenging and exhilarating!

I loved my stay at Bocawina Rainforest Resort! Beautiful grounds right in the entrance to the Mayflower Bocawina National Park, with access to well-maintained and easy-to-follow trails that take you to different waterfalls in the Park. All the staff were so friendly and everything was wonderfully organized and laid out. Great communication ahead of time in helping me to setup transport to Bocawina, they were very accommodating in letting me check-in early and check-out late, and they provided a nice map of all the trails and falls around. Melanie at the front desk was so lovely and helpful :) The Wild Fig Restaurant right in the resort has delicious food and great service (Stephen, the waiter, was wonderful!). The rooms were clean and comfortable and equipped with plenty of fans to keep you cool. It was a great place to show up and explore on your own, if you prefer that. They also have lots of tours that they organize. I did the trail to Antelope Falls one afternoon, which was fun and the falls were beautiful. There are ropes that you can use to help you get up the final steeper, narrow trail, but I felt completely safe. Trail was dry and not slippery, and even though it was hot, trail was shaded almost the whole way. Such a refreshing swim at the pool at the top. Make sure to bring bug spray + water! The next morning I did the Big 5 Falls loop. It's a long and adventurous route of around 11km. Again, bring the bug spray and plenty of water. My favorite was the Upper Bocawina falls, if you scramble your way up a little to the pool and main part of the waterfall. Gorgeous! Big Drop waterfall was quite surprising! Be ready for a lot of steep downhill (later uphill of course) and then pretty much rappelling down the final section with the ropes they provide. Good fun though if you're ready for a workout! Only stayed a night at Bocawina, but could definitely have stayed longer. Highly recommend staying at this resort and exploring this national park!

Long bumpy road to the resort but we had a Fun zip lining experience! Had a health crisis and couldn’t finish but the staff came to my rescue and didn’t expect anything in return. Felt like I was forcing them to accept payment for the juice and a tip. We only got through 50% but we felt so safe and like real adventurers! Would return again.

Do not hesitate! This is the place to experience comfort and challenge side by side. Exceptional hiking, birding, waterfalls (wow! Astonishing!) Stay as long as you can. Enjoy every second and take advantage of the world class chef.

Fantastic place to explore the Belize jungle. We climbed and repelled the big waterfall. Then some zip lining. Was perfect for our family of four. Super safe and responsible.

The staff at Bocawina are amazing; both the service employees, and especially the guides. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Activity options are on point. I highly recommend checking it out!

Rooms were nice and clean. The employees were very thorough in ensuring we had the info we needed to complete the 5 Falls Hike safely. The Zipline was beautiful and Antelope falls is incredible. The restaurant is price and ok and best, but that is to be expected as far out of the way it is. The service was incredible.

Largest zip line adventure in Central America! It is consisted of 2.5 miles of zip lining over 14 platforms, and longest one is half a mile at about 45 mph! The crew are highly trained professionals with utmost attention to security. They are friendly and explained the techniques in clear and concise instructions.

Our family went zip lining here and had a great time. There are 9 zip lines that vary in length and speed.

We staying for 2 days at this resort, we definitely had an experience here. The staff from the beginning were amazing, super friendly to welcome us and reception super detailed with the info. We staying at the Sunset Suite, the room as nice and cozy but we didn't know the hotel doesn't used A/C, first night we didn't sleep as it was super hot for us and kids, as we are not used to this kind of weather. The second day we have to sleep with the windows open but I do recommend don't leave any light on if you don't want mosquitos around. Apart from that jungle nights experience... we did the zip line, super fun! the staff make you feel very safe they're very professional, do some hiking and visit the Waterfalls take some of the guide tours honestly these guys know what they doing! Special thanks to the kitchen and staff, honestly they make us feel super special to me and my family, chef's meals are top notch 👨‍🍳, best panty ripes and Margaritas to the barman, and the waitress every time has a smile and super great attitude of service to the costumers, good job to all staff thats what I called great costumer service 😊

Awesome adventure resort in the remote Belize rain forest. Zip lining, hiking, waterfalls, cave tubing, and tons of wildlife. The staff is amazing and so knowledgeable of the history and nature of Bocawina Rain Forest Park.

Beautiful experience for our honeymoon. Make sure to zipline and, if you're adventurous enough, take the Antelope Falls trail to the top (difficult but worth it). The food is fantastic, lead by the wonderful Chef Bol. Staff and your guides were very friendly and helpful. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Rooms were clean. No air conditioning, but fans and a breeze cool things down pretty nicely.

Good hike up the side if the mountain. Plenty of ropes in place for extra assistance. The pool at the top was awsome, well worth the hike. Zip lining was great and the food at the cafe was very good. The guides were great. A day well spent!

Great staff, good lunch food, everyone was very pleasant. Ziplining was a blast. The grounds were gorgeous! Wish we had more time to check out their other adventures.

Great outdoor place far away from everything with limited Wi-Fi no cellphone reception and no TV. Just zip lines all over, rappelling, and nice guide tours, Roni and victor that helps us with the rappelling and the zip lines. The restaurant has good variety although it is the only local restaurant. Room are nice and clean with Lu’s Hong meadows around. Must - mosquito repellent

  • 5/5 Sway Y. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely gorgeous. You will want 4-wheel drive if it's been raining at all to find your way into and out of the park. The welcome center staff was informative and friendly. The price is entirely reasonable for how well they keep up the grounds. Keep in mind if you stop on the trail, you may find yourself with more bug friends that you ever wanted. I learned quickly not to stall too much or I'd get bit up by mosquitoes and ants. But hey, it's the jungle! We stopped at the little restaurant between hiking trails to refresh, and the service was excellent. They even brough us free ceviche even though we only ordered some sparkling waters. Lovely day!

After hiking to a waterfall I ate a very good veggie panini at Bocawina Rainforest Resort. Be aware that at many resorts in Belize prices are listed in US dollars, not BZD, for reasons I cannot explain. So the menu prices are very high compared to what you can get at a local establishment or off the street. The coffee tasted watered down. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Lovely screened space to relax.
