Luis
was
very
responsive
in
answering
our
questions
and
his
website
gave
great
details
on
what
to
expect.
Our
day
started
approx.
7:25am
with
John
and
Luis
picking
us
up
at
our
Airbnb.
The
dirt
road
to
the
ATM
cave
was
7
miles
off
the
main
paved
road,
this
is
a
very
bumpy
road
even
with
the
nice
comfortable
van
we
were
picked
up
in.
Before
we
started
the
jungle
walk,
we
proceeded
to
use
bug
spray
(as
his
website
suggests)
but
Luis
said
not
to
because
the
bugs
don’t
really
bite
and
they
don’t
want
the
chemical
in
the
cave.
He
was
right,
we
didn’t
get
bit
the
entire
walk
there
and
back.
It
is
a
jungle
walk,
but
the
ground
is
so
hard
and
flat
with
an
approximate
20
foot
clearing
to
walk
through
that
it
is
almost
like
walking
on
a
cement
trail.
He
explained
in
great
detail
the
area
as
we
walked
through
the
trail.
We
started
earlier
than
all
others
so
there
was
no
one
in
the
way
or
passing
us.
The
creeks,
depending
on
the
rain,
were
not
bad
and
there
was
a
rope
to
hold
onto
I
think
for
each
of
them.
Once
we
arrived
at
the
cave
entrance
we
sat
down
at
the
tables
and
received
our
hard
hats
and
some
more
instructions.
Before
we
finished
getting
the
hats
on
the
other
tours
were
arriving.
We
proceeded
first
into
the
cave
and
the
water
was
clear
since
no
one
else
had
started.
It
was
cold,
but
so
fun.
One
thing
that
stands
out
going
with
Luis
is
that
he
gives
great
details
of
the
cave,
people,
artifacts
etc.
All
other
tours
were
whipping
around
us
and
passing
by
many
of
the
spots
Luis
was
talking
about.
We
got
to
see
some
bats
in
a
certain
area
and
the
other
guides
didn’t
even
point
that
out.
He
let
the
other
tour
guides
go
around
us
until
we
were
2nd
to
the
last
in
the
cave.
When
it
came
to
explaining
the
full
skeleton
that
was
discovered
he
gave
a
very
detailed
description
of
what
they
knew
without
having
other
guides
behind
us
in
line
waiting
for
us
to
move
so
they
could
get
to
the
small
area.
We
were
tired
but
it
was
worth
it.
There
are
times
you
have
to
lower
yourself
down
with
your
arms
or
pull
yourself
up,
just
some
weight
support,
so
if
you
can
physically
do
that
you
will
be
good.
You
don't
have
to
be
an
athlete.
My
husband
and
I
are
56
and
was
able
to
do
that.
If
you
want
to
get
in
and
out
quickly
Luis
is
probably
not
gonna
be
the
guide
you
want,
BUT
if
you
want
to
learn,
almost
like
a
history
lesson,
Luis
is
your
guide!
Since
we
were
one
of
the
last
in
the
cave,
he
had
us
turn
out
our
headlamps
and
had
us
hold
onto
the
shoulders
of
the
person
in
front
of
us
in
a
pitch-black
cave!
He
knows
this
cave
so
well!
He
maneuvered
us
through
the
waters/rocks
without
a
problem,
our
teenage/young
adult
kids
thought
that
was
really
cool.
Do
wear
good
shoes
that
grip
well,
sometimes
you
are
stepping
on
small
sections
of
rock
to
use
for
a
footing
and
you
do
not
want
to
slip
or
fall!
Once
we
made
it
back
to
the
place
where
the
van
was
John
had
a
picnic
table
spread
out
with
local
food
Luis’
wife
had
prepared.
It
was
very
good.
John
said
many
times
the
other
tour
guides
like
to
come
over
after
we
eat
to
see
if
any
food
was
left
over.
To
sum
up…a
very
cool
experience!
We
have
never
been
in
a
cave
and
this
cave
is
SO
DEEP!
UNBELIEVABLE!
