An old school locals pub, no thrills, sitting in the front bar actually made me reminisce about going to the old pubs with my dad for lunches as a young fella. Cold beer, friendly patrons & friendly bar staff. Not many of these pubs around any more.

Central located hotel with good bar and bistro food. Friendly staff and food at very reasonable prices. 😊

Parmi, was drowned in pasta sauce, poor meal and the toilets, when were they last cleaned. Used to be good pub, needs alot of TLC.

Honestly whole experience was shocking You have to walk up to a table near where I was having dinner to take a photo of the board(menu) no menu’s on table’s Food way to over priced for what it is Got a steak sandwich and ya don’t even get a top bread bahahah all up shocking And also shocking reception and really bad hygiene like really bad would not recommend! !btw thanks for the steak sandwich plate (Half steak sanga in photo where top bun) bahahah

Disappointed after reading reviews but my experience was as follows. Waited 1.45mins (obviously forgotten) for a beef schnitzel. Meat tough and tasteless, crumb oily, gravy watery. Friendly staff and many a local giving the pub some atmosphere.

Haven't been here for years, wow the meals were all stunning, the staff are spot on, will be back to try some more off the menu.

On a visit from Sydney, found this great hotel. Had a nice lunch , staff very friendly made us feel welcome. If your down that way call in , you will be pleased you did. Thanks again 👍

It was so nice to dine without big screens that show gaming and sport. No pretence, just well prepared proper pub food along with a vegetarian menu. No gaming room but a public bar where you can meet people and have a chat the original way.

Hubby and I ate dinner here last night, for the first time. Hard to believe I've never been there having been a Geelong resident my whole life. This is your typical country pub (in a city). Family owned and operated and it shows. From the outset we were impressed by the warmth of the staff. They were super friendly and attentive. I am new to gluten free and this place has the added bonus of catering to my needs. There are more or less two menus. One normal and one gluten free. They basically have the same items on them and the price barely varies between the two. The food is typical pub food. If you're looking for mixed grills, parmis, rissoles, roasts etc, you'll find them here. I chose the parmi, chips and salad and I was thoroughly impressed. The size of the meal was generous, the price really good and I wouldn't have known I was eating a gluten free meal. The chips were hand cut and yum! The staff were happy to answer any questions and also just happy to have a general chat. All in all it was great and we will definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic. My son has recently been diagnosed coeliac and they were so accommodating to his needs. Very friendly owners and beautiful place. Yummy food! We will be back for sure.

Excellent! Great service, very reasonable prices, and very delicious food! Everyone in the group enjoyed their dishes. In addition to the above and very worthy of note, they have a separate Gluten Free menu!! Entrees, main courses and desserts (not on the menu but on a separate board above the bar with other non-gluten free desserts). I was impressed. So much so, I'll be going back with a couple of friends very soon. 😀

Brilliant food and well priced. Gluten free experts and caters for the coeliacs. The gluten free bread was to die for and the portions were expansive.

If I could give them a 10 I would - As a Coeliac it is really difficult to get good food locally- today I was famished with little time to eat in - I rang and they arranged the most amazing GF take away snitzel sandwich with peppercorn gravy for me.... Best people ever - Rachael is a superstar with a customer focussed attitude and a down right legend. Cannot recommend more highly.

Found this great hotel by accident a month ago while travelling to Geelong by train. Heading back again tomorrow for lunch

A lovely unpretentious pub, clearly held in high esteem by the locals and rightly so. The quotable blackboard outside on Brougham Street has been a delight for years, reflecting the splendid quirkiness of the hotelier. A real gentleman. The Lime & Pepper Squid was a treat but the Grilled Chilli & Garlic Calamari Salad was exceptional! Will be back... 🤤

We all had a most enjoyable lunch experience at The Sir Charles Hotham. The service is very warm and friendly, it has a lovely, fresh atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Very tasty, ideal portion sizes and very reasonably priced. We had a few food sensitivities in our group and they were catered for without fuss with openly of options. Cannot fault anything at all, we will absolutely be back.

I enjoy going to Sir Charles Hotham for our family get together. The food is priced to budget taste wonderful the service is nice along with the people. Relaxed atmosphere color coded menu Great idea.

Popped in for a quick counter meal. Good range especially gluten free. My barramundi and chips was fine as was the coffee. Good value for money but not fancy dining.

Has the best gluten free menu in town! Great ambience. Family run pub with excellent service. Modern outdoor area and separate function room with its own bar! Highly recommended.
