I first visited Guntzviller's about 7 years ago with my family. We weren't sure what to expect from a taxidermy museum and went in with an open mind. We walked into the big room with the museum displays, and every corner we turned presented with another piece that blew our minds! It's not a huge area but every nook and cranny is packed with interesting information and beautiful animals! It's clear that the place was put together with love and care. The scenes are detailed and informative. I recently took another visit to the museum by myself when I was in Traverse City for a work conference. It was just as magical as I remembered! I especially appreciate the staff at Guntzviller's. They leave you to explore the museum on your own with no pressure or awkwardness but if you do have a question, they are right there to help. If you find yourself in the Traverse City area, do not miss this unique opportunity to visit Guntzviller's marvelous collection!

This is honestly one of my favorite places I have ever travelled to. The museum is a labor of love, and it shows. Some amazing Michigan and outdoor history there. It is a must see for anyone who loves the outdoors and would be great for kids as well. Entry is free (donation based) but the experience is worth so much! The owners were very friendly and spoke with us for a long time. This place is somewhere we will come back to again and again. The gift shop is very nice as well.

Roadside tourist trap with a large array of taxidermy and indigenous artifacts displayed in a very artful manner. No ticket required although donations very much appreciated. Public restrooms available, but I'd say pop a nice donation in if you're just stopping to use the bathroom! Lots of knickknacks for souvenir purchases.

Great little shop and the museum was cool. The kids loved the taxidermy! The woman running the shop was really nice, even to my crazy 4 year old who had been in the car too long and wanted to touch everything!

This museum is definitely worth stopping for. The owners are very passionate about this place. It’s amazing all the wildlife & Indian artifacts on display. Take time to talk with owners- they can tell you the history of everything in the museum from where artifacts were found to the building of the very informative dioramas. No admission charge- you can make a donation. One of a kind of place and so very educational.

Amazing museum with lots of wonderful displays and so much knowledge of all wildlife. Both adults and kids will enjoy and it’s free! I would recommend contributing to the donation box. The gift shop has lots of big and small items (kids loved the arrowheads) so we all got souvenirs. The owner’s were friendly and told us some great stories.

If you're in the Traverse City area, this is a must see. The art of taxidermy is on full display here along with the largest collection of arrow heads I've seen. If you love the outdoors and want to learn about Michigan's wildlife and history, stop on by. No tickets required, they just ask for a donation.

What a great visit!! If your a true sportsman, don’t miss out. A great collection of hunting, fishing and Native American relics. My wife and could have spent hours looking around, appreciating all the effort and talking with the woman running the store (owner). Sorry I didn’t catch your name, but thank you, your husband and family for years of hard work and effort to compile and share your collection. We wish you the best.

There is a museum and all kinds of head mounts here. There is beautiful stones, stone settings, jewelry and comfy shoes. I like all the knick knacks. I found too many things I wanted to buy.

Much more than we expected. The owners have poured their hearts into this place and were super sweet. Not just taxidermy but also nature and many artifacts of early Native American culture. Make sure to stop. We were glad we did. Please be sure to donate to support this awesome place.

Awesome. So much to see. I did suggest alternative hours 10:30-6:30 . So local people have a better chance. To to see and enjoy the experience. Many locals, possibly the majority of working parents get out of work at 5:00. So they would have to only have Saturday as an option to see the museum at the current hours. The alternate hours would allow scouting troops, brownies, Cub Scouts all the kids groups, like that. Or families to come and see the museum during the week.
