Pushkaranis are sacred tanks attached to temples. Most of the large temples in Hampi has a tank attached to it. The tanks cater to the ritual and functional aspects of the temple and life surrounding it. Symbolically too these tanks are significant and treated with great respect. In many cases the sacred tanks were the venue for the annual boat festival, where the images of the god and goddess is taken on a coracle. Pushkarni in the Temple Complex of the Vittala Temple in Hampi and is a better preserved specimen of the sacred tank is located near the Vittala Temple. This is located a little east of the temple complex. From Vittala temple walk along the street (Vittala Bazaar), you’ll find the tank just opposite to a ruined temple marked as Kuduregombe Mantapa

This place is considered to be one of the best stepwells in India... It's a marvel.... ! We can see this beautiful well On the way to hampi in lakundi village stepwell was constructed during the chalukya empire era... ! It's reconstructed by archeological survey of India as it was completely destroyed when mohd ghazni invaded India. Though the well isn't filled with water all round the year due to extreme heat . In earlier days it was constructed for usage of public

Nice place to take pictures. Hampi is too hot during December end as well. Better carry umbrella hat or sunglasses for own comfort.

As you move ahead after taking a visit to Kuduregombe Mandapa, on your right you will see Pushkarni. It is having a water body, a pond like of structure which has steps to go down. And in the centre is a temple. It has steps on all the four sides and good rock structure on the surrounding. Pond might be for taking a dip before entering the temple or may be something else. But it is a good place to take a visit.

One of the wonderful place in Hampi... It was constructed for Horse sale market, Vittala God temple and for functions at Vijayanagara samrajya.. It has a function Hall, ratha, stay rooms, viewing room, music room.. It is having a best engineering in building stone polls which makes repeat sound in it when you tap on it.... Must visit place atleast once in lifetime...
