Beautiful preserved bath. It's a small walk of couple of minutes and many people miss the opportunity to go here so it's very less crowded.

True to its name, the Octagonal Bath features a distinct octagonal shape, providing a symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing design. The bath was primarily used by the women of the royal court, offering them a private and luxurious bathing experience. The engineering brilliance of the Octagonal Bath is evident in its advanced water management system. The bath was designed to collect and distribute water through a network of channels and outlets, ensuring a constant flow of clean water for the bathing area. This demonstrates the empire’s sophisticated understanding of hydraulic engineering.

As anywhere in Hampi the stone work will amaze you. It's a complex-to-build octagonal shaped water pavilion used for bathing and other purposes.

This is at a bit isolated location though pretty well connected by a mud road. At about a kilometer or so in a northeast direction from the Chandrashekara temple you can spot its polygon structure. Most probably a makeshift thorny gate closes the mud road (what you see in the picture is the Saraswathi temple nearby). Just jump over it and proceed. No one would question you as this has been made by the local flower farmers to protect their flowers being eaten by the wandering cattle! For all that matter a lone farmer (the only pathfinders available at times) can direct you to the location. The same trail you taken from Chandrashekara temple to here continuous its way eastwards. This winding mud path along the edges of the fields can lead you to Srinagarada Hebbagailu (the huge gateway to the citadel), located behind the Elephant Stables. This is one of the many bathing places in Hampi, its a part of the royal center. Octagonal water pavilion is near the Queen's bath, closer to Chandrashekhara temple and a stone's throw from Saraswati temple. The pavilion is an 80' diameter octagon in plan and few feet below ground level. The structure is a octagonal pit with a central octagonal platform surrounded by a octagonal shelter supported by columns. There's a step and a channel running along the rim of the pit.

It is off the beaten path - close to Kamalapur and in a complex which also has the Saraswati temple ruins - short walk from the entrance - lovely place and the symmetry in construction and design is amazing !

Goddess Saraswati's temple (no idol inside) and octogonal bath are at same place. This place is rarely visited by piligrims. Some people go there to read books. Better to visit in moderate temperature.

Beautiful structure surrounded by huge open space. This type of set up is still in use for common public baths separately for men & women in the country "Turkey". The common baths are famous & are called "Hamam" in Turkey.

The bath shelter is designed with an octagonal shaped platform at the middle and an encircling pillared veranda around it. The circular section between the veranda and the platform is the water (now empty) area. To the west of it you can spot the ruined bases of numerous palaces.

The Octagonal Bath in Hampi, Karnataka, India, is a unique historical structure that dates back to the Vijayanagara Empire, built in the 15th century. This ancient structure is known for its octagonal shape and the remnants of a water channel system. The bath showcases the architectural brilliance of the Vijayanagara Empire, with a blend of functional and aesthetic design. Visiting the Octagonal Bath offers a chance to witness the architectural marvels of the Vijayanagara era and gain insights into the cultural and religious practices of that time. The site provides a serene and historical ambiance, allowing visitors to connect with the past and appreciate the craftsmanship of ancient builders. Beautiful structure. But very few tourists visit here. One has to enter through the gate next to Queens bath house and travel a few meters inside the barren lands.

Quiet good and there is one secret chamber which nearby and walkable distance do ask and go there as you enter into that chamber it'll be pitch black and even the torch light is also not enough for you to see. Good place

This is one of the good spots in hampi but needs some maintenance. The entire bath area is built in the shape of octagon. That is reason for its name. If you stay around virupaksha temple, you can rent a cycle and visit this place.

It’s walkable distance from main road. Guide won’t take you to this location as there are not many things to explore near by. So you should plan accordingly.
