Beautiful garden located down stream of Munirabad Dam koppal dist. Pampavana is lalbagh of Munirabad. It is Japanese garden. Natural undulations are maintained as it is, and garden is made greenery. Pagodas are constructed on high grounds. Lawns are well maintained. Walking in this garden gives a new experience. Musical fountain dances according to your singing. A small lake is formed at the foot of the dam. Jet fountain is fixed at the centre of the lake. Entrance fee is nominal. Show plants are available for sale. Tourists who visit Munirabad dam must see this garden.

A cute theme park is located beside the TB dam . The place is located in munirabad town. The place is best for family picnics and is great place to host yoga sessions. They have beautiful gardens and should have been maintained better by the government.

A beautiful park in which you can spend half a day easily with food. No good restaurants available near by. Better to carry every thing which is required. Even toilet facilities also not there.

This was once a well maintained park. It is a one time visit for non locals. The day i visited recently, Park staff was collecting cash and not issuing tickets. Giving some lame reasons. There is a lot of scope for improvement of the area but no political/department intent.

Best place to hang out with Family n Friends.. But they charge Rs 1000/- for the camera if u carry inside.. But the Department of horticulture has not announced it officially or has any paper proof, instead the amount will be misused in the name of govt.. Pls dnt pay any amount towards camera fee.. Usually Govt will not put such a huge amount for any kind of services .. Please take care of this..

Pampavana Not far from the temple is a small botanical park known as Pampavana. It is known to be home to a number of medicinal plants and trees. The garden is known to be the place where Adikavi Pampa penned his poems. In fact, it derives its name from him. According to local folk tales, the garden also served as inspiration for Kalidasa’s ‘Meghaduta’. History of Banavasi According to the earliest recorded history of Banavasi, this town was the capital of the Kadamba rulers in 375 AD. It retained its position as the capital city for over 2 centuries. Copper coins from the 5th century AD with Kannada inscriptions on them have been recovered from the area. These bear the insignia of the Kadamba King Krishnavarma II. Over the years as ruling dynasties came and went, Banavasi was known by many names; Konkanapura, Vanavasika, Nandanavana, Jayanthipura etc. The Madhukeshwara Temple in the city was built in the 9th century AD. This is one of the most famous tourist sites of Banavasi. The Madhukeshwara Temple A pair of stone elephants stands at the gates to welcome visitors to this temple. The Madhukeshwara Temple is probably the most iconic symbol of Banavasi. This is a temple dedicated to Vishnu that dates back to the Kadamba dynasty. As ruling dynasties changed, the temple underwent a number of changes and renovations. The temple features a very simple structure with minimal wall ornamentation. Under the Chalukyan rulers, a Sankalpa mandapa was added to the temple structure. Similarly, the Hoysala period saw the addition of a Nritya mandapa. Unlike the rest of the temple, this mandapa has exquisite carvings on the ceiling and pillars. The temple gets its name from the honeyed hue of the Shiva Lingam contained inside it. A monolithic statue of the Nandi Bull can also be seen in the temple’s Mahamantapa. This is one of the most famous tourist sites of Banavasi. Greco-Roman writer Ptolemy mentions a historical town that is believed to be Banavasi in his writings. This city has been mentioned in poems by Kalidasa and Chamarasa. It has also been mentioned in the writings of Huen Tsang, a Chinese traveler-monk A 10th century Kannada poet, Adikavi Pampa said, “It is a virtue to be born in Banavasi as a human.” Banavasi is the oldest town in Karnataka. With a history that dates back to the 4th century AD, this sleepy town has seen history being made. It has been witness to the rise and fall of ruling dynasties. It has seen the British Raj and the Freedom Struggle. If these hills could talk, they would really have a lot to say.
