Really good quality fish, proper Cod perfectly fried. Lovely chips and scraps. Will definitely come back - the senior special very good value

My wife and I use 149 regularly when in Catterick Garrison. Service is quick and efficient, the restaurant is lovely and clean. Food delicious. Staff are happy and polite.

Not sure why it isn't in the top 3 best fish n chips. The right crisp for both fish and chips. Recipe aside, the quality of fish used was good too. Amazing staff and service. Clean in every corner. And while i am leaving this review a lovely lady from staff brings page and crayons for my 3 year old son.

First time here. Nice clean place we only had take away. I had haddock chips and curry very nice wife had battered sausage chips and mushy peas again nice. However chips must have had a couple of different types of potatoes or different cooked batches. We had a variety of taste texture and hardness. But not bad enough to give a bad review but enough to mention it. Staff very pleasant and prompt to serve just add a little smile. Looking forward to going again we did enjoy the food despite the comments they are observations. See you soon thanks.

I’ve only registered for Google to review this chip shop. I’ve been going here for a while and I’ve been meaning to write this review for ages. In short: Quality is always excellent, food tastes great. Staff are always brilliant. The extra mile and why I’ve bothered to write this: After we found out our young family had serious allergy issues we were struggling to find restaurants we could trust with ingredients, but these guys were great. For a short while when we couldn’t get food other places they were a life saver adding variety and a treat to our diets. They always went the extra mile. For example we order online and I have previously forgotten to add items or mark allergies and they have called us up to check the order as they remember us. They also stayed open slightly late one night when I came down to do a last minute pick up for a desperate family. And were so lovely. Not rude, but friendly and sympathetic, when they could have seen as a bother just before closing. I can’t say thanks enough. Good food. Excellent staff

Having previously been disappointed by the web ordering service this time we ignored the telephone message asking you to order online and spoke to a very helpful member of staff. The service was excellent, fast, friendly and the food was superb! Great team if you ignore the on hold message that says you have to order on line! Even a nice friendly smile from the person frying!

Brought mother in law for birthday treat, she said it was the best fish and chips she had had in ages! Really enjoyed ours, not fatty at all, crispy batter, proper mushy peas! Our 3 children all enjoyed their meals too! Thank you.

First visit ever. Been eating fish and chips all over the country for more than 50 years and these get a Mitch score of 91/100 the second highest score so far. Well done to all the staff for a great evening meal.

We visited Fish & Chips 149 for the first time today and it definitely will not be the last. We were greeted as we entered and told how to order which was table service. The food arrived promptly and it was excellent, probably the best fish & chips we have had. Quality and quantity was excellent and the tea was perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful and Brian was a top quality fryer ! I would highly recommend this cafe/restaurant.

definitely won’t be returning after this portion size! £6.49 + curry sauce £1.49…absolutely disgusting, I traveled for this…next time I’ll stick to Bradley’s in Northallerton well worth the price!

Brian, Michael, the chefs are brilliant, the food is always consistently good and freshly prepared and hot. I have been a customer for a long time and will continue to do so. Sophie and Sam the servers go about their task in an efficient manner and with a smile. Always with a joke to tell although the jokes are not that good. All adds to the tapestry of life. Would recommend this to anyone

First visit having driven past often. Did not disappoint, in fact exceeded expectations. We ate in, sat in the front restaurant by a window. Service was at our table and very quick. Food and drinks arrived swiftly. The haddock and chips was delicious. Very light but crisp batter which melted in the mouth, lovely white fish with glamour. Chips were properly cooked and dry - no soggy bits. Really lovely meal and we will definitely be back.
