👍 Food was good. We went late so they ran out of whole chicken around 7:30 pm. Last call is at 8:30 pm m for food. We had the Lomo saltado. It was good, just small in portions. The pollo brasa was a bit dry. It is a small hole-in-the wall in a shopping center. People often mention good, delicious, Peruvian, chicken, Lomo, saltado, pollo, great,

Great place that my Uncle Leo & Aunt Ely took me to today. We had the tallarin verde, chaufa de pollo and I had the tacu tacu with lomo. The food was delicious and just like my mom and grandma used to make. Must go place if you are looking for authentic peruvian cuisine.

Wow!! I've never written a review while still at the restaurant. The food is really delicious. A small restaurant packing some really great, delicious flavors. We order aji de gallina, aguadito de pollo soup, beef tallarín saltado, beef lomo saltado. Everything, everything taste so good. Ma favorite being the lomo saltado and their green aji sauce.

Delicious! Egg a little too fried and fries a little overly fried too. Just a friendly observation. But overall a great experience and very good flavors. 👍

Now I will be honest I have tried many Peruvian restaurants because since my wife is Peruvian she likes to try different spots to see which one tastes more like home and this place is very good, is it as good. Well no, but it sure is very delicious and recommended anyone to try this location because. One, it’s a bit more affordable than other areas, also there Lomo Saltado is pretty good. Two, the service is awesome, the lady who works here is very kind and loving and we really appreciate that. The only thing that we were a bit indifferent was the Ceviche. Why? Well every place we have tried the ceviche was a lot more colder. What I mean by that is. Well nobody likes warm raw fish, it tastes weird, not bad but it was weird. So beyond that, the causa and Lomo was great.

I love Peruvian cuisine, and this is one of the best Peruvian restaurants that I have visited. I was looking for a new Peruvian restaurant online and was happy to come across El Tondero which is not too far from where I live. I stopped by for lunch one day and have been hooked ever since. On my first visit I order the lomo saltado, lengua a lo macho, & leche de tigre. Everything was delicious, the only reason I didn’t eat the plate was because I would have been charged for it. The lomo saltado was cooked to perfection, as was the lengua a lo macho. The food was perfectly seasoned, and the portions were large. The leche de tigre was the best ceviche I have ever had. I’m Mexican and love mariscos, I have to say that this leche de Tigre is my new favorite fresh seafood dish. The marinade was perfectly acidic, and the slightly sweet hominy or corn paired very well with the acidity of the marinade and the fresh red onion. If you haven’t visited El Tondero, or if you are looking to try something new and delicious, make sure to pay them a visit. Also, don’t forget to leave a review; support small business.

A new place worth a shot. Lomo Saltado (beef rice French fries) Saltado de pollo (chicken rice french fries) Ceviche Mixto ( raw fish in lime sauce calamari shrimp mussels) The Chile sauce “Aji” is great too! Price is ok, just like anywhere else. The ceviche could be on the colder side as mentioned by another patron. But I will come back when I crave Peruvian. Service is normal, nice people.

So I’ve only had Peruvian food a few times in my life once was homemade and 3 others restaurants. This place was the only one that rivaled the homemade, it was excellent. This was my husbands first time having Peruvian food and I am so happy that it was here, food is amazing and don’t be afraid to try a desert too, so good!

One of my favorite Peruvian places. Miles above all my local Downey ones, including Fernandos. Worth every penny. I always get the Lomo Saltado and the Aguadito de pollo soup. Their soup (and aji) is completely unique. You wont find another soup that taste like theirs at any other peruvian place. It is filled with rice, potatoes, chicken... Unlike other restaurants that skimp and make it mostly broth, they pack it full. The lady at the front is always very kind and the whole staff does a wonderful job. I love coming here and would recommend it to anyone who already loves Peruvian food or is looking try it.

I’ve come to El Tondero a few times now, but today I found the food more flavorful than ever before! The Lomo Saltado and Ceviche were both 10/10 for me. Affordable prices, friendly staff, ample parking, delicious lucuma dessert —what’s not to love?

The chicken was delicious and juicy. It was flavorful and had a smoky taste. I really enjoyed it. I got the full chicken with the fries and salad. My family and I couldn't finish the whole meal. They have good portions, I recommend you check out the place.

The chicken was alright at best. It was dry. I order a shrimp chaufa rice and the shrimp were bland and not well cleaned so I picked the shrimp out if the rice. The seafood seviche was ok. I ordered a bistek a lo pobre and thats the only dish I can say was very tasty. bill was about 100$ . Not worth it
