BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD! This place is no joke! A friend took me here last week and I’ve been back twice since! The #6 is a vegetarian delight!!! This is the Peruano (Vegetarian): Grilled yams, roasted tomato, mozzarella, avocado, aji huacatay, aji amarillo, shoestring potatoes. Get the side of potatoes— the sauce that comes with them is divine. Don’t skimp on dessert! I love the alfajores: Sweet shortbread cookies sandwiched together with a dulce de leche filling and coated with powdered sugar and coconut flakes. I also love that this place requires proof of vaccination to sit inside, and the staff wear masks. I cannot believe that I’ve lived in Bellingham for 5 years and this week is the first time I’ve been. Underrated!!!

Went to Bellingham on a day trip from Vancouver. Ended up getting caught at the border for hours so we were starving by the time we got there. Came across this place on Google and seen a review saying "best chicken sandwich ever". We were not disappointed. I got the chicken and it truly was the best chicken sandwich. So fresh and the flavours were amazing. Fresh crusty roll, the rotisserie chicken was juicy and overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Also banging tunes to bop along to while you wait. Well done guys 👏👏

My friends and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Bellingham after doing a hike. I was searching Google Maps for places to eat and found this Peruvian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely come back here again if I'm in the area.

The sandwiches here are packed full of flavors and sauces and ingredients, expect to be full for a while if you finish the whole thing! Also napkin are a must, I mean you’re going to have sauce face and fingers no matter what, just don’t expect the cleanest experience. Very delicious overall. The corn in the Choclo was so big and juicy it was fantastic. I would have liked some more sauce for this dish, but it was still tasty and a nice way to fit some veggies into your meal.

WOW. WOW. WOW. Do not skip this place, it is a must try. The most delicious pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. The yuca root was phenomenal as well, with or without salsa. The drinks were fresh and delicious. You will be coming back again and again. I know I will.

Beautiful location and great prices. We ordered the Blackened fish tacos, Butifarra Royal and Yucas. The fish was very fresh and plentiful. The pork had a black peppered pungency that blocked most other flavors. I was hopeful to identify the chimichurri and aji Amarillo flavors but ended up with mayo on everything. The salsa criolla almost saved the fish tacos from more mayo. The Yucas were good but the same mayo sauce was served with it leaving a dry perfectly cooked side dish we were unwilling to dunk.

We split a butifarra for brunch and it was incredible! I highly recommend getting your own sandwich because you’re not going to want to share. The sauces were house made and so flavorful! I enjoyed the house made passion fruit beverage. The desserts looked fantastic. We would definitely frequent this place if we lived in the area. Go do yourself a favor and get a sandwich 😍 Counter service with limited indoor seating. Breakfast mimosas available with their house made juices!

We stopped by here for lunch for our Bellingham day trip and it did not disappoint! The sandwiches were super juicy and flavourful, and messy. Be prepared to get your hands dirty. We expected ‘shoestring potatoes’ as in fries but got some boiled red potatoes with some dressing on top. The side salad was also alright. Not a big deal. We ordered the Pollo Tocino y Palta & the Choripollo sandwiches. The Pollo Tocino y Palta was our favorite! The Chicha Morada (purple corn juice) was lacking some sweetness so we added extra sweetener. It has a very strong clove flavour, if you’re into that!

The FLAVOUR. If I really look for them, the only negatives were that we waited 30 minutes for our sandwiches (which we knew ahead of time as the cashier warned us when we ordered), and one of the servers was not friendly. HOWEVER, she did her job and I honestly don't mind how servers act as long as they're not rude. Personally it doesn't matter to me, but I know it does to some people, which is why I'm mentioning it. Now onto the food. I had the #6, Pervano, but asked for the roast pork added. The sandwich itself was spicy for me (I'd say moderate spicy, I just can't handle much heat), but the flavours were amazing. I would've inhaled the whole sandwich in no time if I wasn't having a hard time with the spice. That's on me though, I asked for recommendations and still chose a spicy one. It's been said before but I'll say it again - the bread they use is fantastic. They were also sampling their cookies (alfajores), so my friend and I split a vanilla one and chocolate one. The textures were perfect, and filling was super tasty. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!!

Second time around! ABSOLUTELY 5 Stars!! I took advantage of the $9.99 Thursday sandwich special and boy it did NOT disappoint! I chose the “Pollo Tocino y Palta”, it was outstanding. The bun was perfectly toasted with just the right CRUNCH, the chicken was beyond flavourful not to mention the crispy bacon & the additional accoutrements. ***Cafe Rumba does NOT prepare sandwiches ahead of time, they are made to order so be prepared to wait if you have not ordered ahead! It’s just the way it should be. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My first order! Tried the Fish Tacos and they were good! The rock fish was perfectly cooked with a bit of crunch. A kick of heat and a nice mix of salsa finished off the taco. I am thinking they could have used a fresh lemon wedge on the side, not sure but the taco on the whole was just missing something! Sometimes “less is more”. I’ll definitely go for one of the sandwiches next time! From what I saw the sandwiches were definitely the draw! The local artwork (eggshell) by Carol Hansen was spectacular!

Stopped at this cute Peruvian restaurant today for lunch. My partner ordered the rumba pulled pork sandwich at the advice of the counter employee and it was fantastic. Very flavorful and the potatoes on the side had a yummy sauce. The rockfish tacos were creamy and fresh. I wish the tacos had been a little warmer and had more mango salsa, but that was a personal preference. We will likely return in the future!

Overall, the food was good. The sandwiches, fried yuca, and potatoes with sauce were delicious. Lots of flavour. Well prepared. However, the French toast was awful. It was undercooked and incredibly soggy. I ordered it for my kids and it was inedible. I'd go back for the sandwiches, but would definitely pass on the French toast. The restaurant itself could use a good clean. The tables, chairs and floors are sticky. The highchairs were wiped down before they were given to us, but they were still really dirty.

Five stars all around. Went there early in the morning but all the servers were attentive to us even though they were still finishing prep work and all of that. Food was so tasty best pulled pork I've had in a long time and it's buy one get one free or half off the day that I went. They have a few daily specials.

Lovely cafe with unique food options that feels like a community institution. I loved the vegetarian options because they were intentional rather than an afterthought. My friends enjoyed the meat options and the fish tacos. The salsa options were very plentiful and I highly recommend getting the yucca fries and some salsas on the side to try. I will definitely come back next time I’m in Bellingham.

What a local gem Everything comes with a magical kick. So make sure you ask for sauce on the side if hot spicy is not your thing. Our sandwich and Peruvian dishes are tastier than the breakfast dishes #3 Sandwich is Rotisserie chicken with apple slaw—super yum Also ordered Purple corn juice- just a tad sweet and refreshing

A cute little cafe house. Food is great! I got the Friday special and it was soooo good! It was freshly made, the pork was juicy, the fried egg on top of the pork was a surprise of joy. The bread was warm, the veggies were fresh. Highly recommend! Although the soup is more like a smoothie.

This is one of the top sandwiches I've ever had. LOVED the pollo, the side of yucca, and all of the sauces they came with. Tasted very fresh and flavorful.
