Just a simply wonderful and down to earth little cafe. Very spacious with plenty of seating. Amazing staff and very gracious portions. Never a dull moment with excellent taste in music. If I ran a cafe I would model it after this place. One of Bellinghams many hidden treasures and my personal favorite. Ten stars.

Wow what a beautiful blast from the past! Back in college me and my then bf used to go there all the time. We are still friends and went to go check it out after over 25 years and it is still amazing! I had the prawn and bacon benedict (the fresh dill on top was a nice touch!) and he had the mystery burrito. The food was fresh and delicious, reasonably priced, good portion sizes and the service was incredible! Our server who I think is also the manager or owner was really funny and took great care of us! Thanks Little Cheerful!

Staff were friendly, breakfast was super good. Bacon was done to perfection, perfectly seasoned sausage links and patties. Hollandaise sauce was fresh and well prepared. The place is crowded, so you can expect to wait a bit to be seated, and a bit of a wait for the food as well. But the food is well worth the wait!

New favorite breakfast place in Bellingham. Carl is a great server with knowledge of what's going on. Food? Couldn't ask for better portions and flavor. Atmosphere/decor is beautiful. Highly recommend to try this place.

Good spot for food and coffees. Waiting time is a little bit longer than expected, but definitely worth it!!! Staffs are super nice! We traveled from Vancouver and will come back for more “happy time” here in the future trips! Love~

This place is exactly what you want to go to with a group of friends to drink tons of coffee or tea, eat brunch and gossip. The food is amazing and pretty reasonably priced with the amount you get. Sounds weird but the scrambled eggs were my favorite.

Because Google won't let me write a new review, I'll have to add to this one. On July 12th, 2023, I returned after 5 years. Although I was a little disappointed at some of the menu items no longer being available, the food and service did not disappoint. Peighton was our server and was super friendly and had time to chat with us for a while. Apparently I'm a creature of habit as I had the biscuits and gravy again 😀 I hadn't been to Little Cheerful in over 2 years, and it's still awesome. Paige, our server, was great. Even though she seemed a bit busy, she had time to chat with us and gave us excellent service. The food, as usual, was terrific.

Update: Decided to give it a try again. Sometimes people have bad days and those moments have nothing bro do with us. Forgiveness is everything and we this world needs more of it. —————————————————————- I’m a regular early morning customer. The food is amazing, and I’ve never had an issue with long waits for a table or food. For the most part the staff are friendly and efficient; some complain about the music, but I find it nostalgic and pleasant. My last visit was disheartening. A staff member completely snapped at me while taking my drink order; I expressed I would be ok to also order my food if it made things easier. It was busy, and I didn’t want her to make unnecessary returns to my table - I thought I was being empathetic, accommodating and kind. Her response was snarky and condescending , “Mmmmhmmm okaaaaaaaay (with an eye roll). When I get a chance. I’m obviously alone this morning. Wait your turn.” :-/ When she returned to take my order she said, “I’m just piping off this morning.” I get it, we’re all under a lot of pressure these days, but that’s not a free pass to berate others. The Little Cheerful is part of a meditative morning routine; I workout nearby, sometimes I go for a walk , then follow up with breakfast at the cafe. I’m never in a rush, I’m kind and friendly, and I always leave a 25% tip. I like hot sauce with my meal, but the attitude and blatant disrespectfulness is not the kind of spice I want with my breakfast. I know gems have blemishes, but this experience was a hard swallow. I’m not sure I’ll return.

Just came into Little Cheerful on a brunch date. It was not my first time in the restaurant, but as always, it was a very pleasant experience. Our server was very friendly, and made some very nice conversation while we interacted. Despite a very busy restaurant and a decent wait, our food came out quickly and was very warm. I ordered the Pork Verde Hash, and the house made salsa verde was delicious and reminded me of a more southern take on pesto, which paired beautifully with the smoked pork. I also got to try the whoppin' stupid sandwich, served with sausage patty, which was also excellent, if not slightly more bland than the hash. Overall, the food was exquisite and a very fun take on classic diner, the only critique I have on the entire experience was the proximity to other patrons. We had a table for two that was basically connected to another table for a party of three. I know there's not much they can change about the space, but perhaps booking less people in at a time would improve that slice of the experience.

Loved this little hipster Cafe. We had to wait 35 min for a table, but the cheerful host took our names and cell number to contact us when they had a seat for us. This let us wander the little shops in the neighbourhood. The menu had plenty of interesting options (including a burrito wuth a cheeky mystery filling), but we stuck with the basics...bacon and eggs and biscuits and gravy. The food was well worth the wait. Delicious and plentiful. We loved the hashbrowns too. I recommend this spot and will be back!

Trendy, laid-back and interesting atmosphere. Weight staff is exceptional. Food is phenomenal. I’m from the East Coast. We don’t have anything like this back home. Definitely recommend stopping in to trying it out, make sure you check the wait time online. This place is always packed unless you’re there at 7 AM when they open.

Went to Blaine to check out the downtown area. Stopped by here for brunch and wasn't disappointed. Hand down the hot honey skillet was the best breakfast dish I've had in years! It's worth the wait!

The Crab Cake Benedict is GONE </3 but it's still worth a visit! Vibes - eclectic decor featuring local art, miscelenious collectables, christmas lights, and loud music. Service - friendly, polite, quick, and funny staff with infectiously up-beat attitude; all seemed to have been having a great time even on a rainy Monday. Food - pricy but very well made E.g. the shrimp on my Benedict was juicy, fried just right; fresh, fluffy biscuits with thick gravy full of meat chunks. One note is that all the flavors were very strong: lots of lemon in the hollandaise sauce, lots of pepper in the gravy, etc. Over all, a fantastic experience! Great decor, staff, and food. Pricy but worth it. Will visit again in hopes of catching those fabled crab cakes.

This place was recommended by a friend and it was fantastic. My friend ordered the mystery burrito and wasn't disappointed. I had the Gravlox Benedict with smoked salmon and it was amazing. My other friends got more basic breakfasts that were yummy. I love that their hashbrowns have onions. The interior decor is fun and very college town. The music was a little loud, but we were still able to catch up

OMG the first place i have been to that asks if you want cooked onions added to your breakfast potatoes and WHAT AN INCREDIBLE offer! my eggs were cooked exactly as i ordered them, the toast was from fresh bread, and the cold brew was good and strong! My wife ordered a kid’s pancake and they even made it in the shape of a cat for her, with berry eyes, nose, and toes. The staff is super friendly and there’s some neat artwork/decorations to look at while you’re waiting on your food. Plus it is affordable (especially for this current day and age of inflation and supply chain issues!)
