I would be aware of staying here if you don't want to get falsely accused of damaging the room. My family stayed here last weekend, two days after we got a damage charge. My father called to inquire and the hotel staff said it was due to smoking in the room even though no one in my family smokes, and then they changed their reason to say that the comforter got cut and torn. We have asked them to provide evidence and they have not yet. The hotel staff, Sonya, blatantly accused my family without proof. We took it up to the credit card company, however, if you are looking for a place to stay, you are better off staying elsewhere to avoid this kind of trouble.

First of all, the hotel room is not clean at all. Secondly, the staff also accused my family of room damage when we only lightly used the room (we only stayed for one night) and charged us a fee. We called to reason with them and said we have no reason to rip up the comforter but they refused to believe us. Be aware when you stay here.

I had booked a 3 day stay for my son in the USCG. He said the room was ok and that it was acceptable, but not fancy. It suited his purpose. However, he forgot his orthodontic retainer. Unfortunately, he was continuing on to his base and could not return. I was not able to get it either. 3000 miles away from me. I called the motel, requesting they send the retainer to me. I promised $50 payment in advance on credit card. This soon turned into a game. They said they would send it for $100 service fee, postage, gas money, and hourly wage. How much is a priority mail flat rate envelope? $4.95!!! The post office is 2.1 miles away.... these unscrupulous jerks couldn't be bothered with helping my USCG son with his retainer for $40.05 profit??? For real!!! They wanted over $100 to go 2.1 miles to the post office. I Google map searched.

I was a little concerned about some of the bad reviews but it's exactly what they advertise which is a reasonable place to stay no frills. Kudos for upgrading furnishings. You can tell they are trying. Bed is comfortable, room is clean, TV works. Smells like smoke a little bit, but some older hotels all have that. The bathrooms need an update as well and hopefully that's next on the list.

Nothing too special but nothing especially displeasing either, got the rest I needed and no disturbances. Was sad the tv had no cable but other than that I was able to eat and kick my feet up for a very good price. Sweet front desk lady too in the morning. Oh place was clean and tidy and pipes worked just fine

We got surprise charge of $100 two days after we checked out. We were told it's smoke cleaning fee in first call (none of us smoke) and their staff asked us to reach Sonya next morning for resolution. In the second call Sonya said they have a picture of comforter got cut and insisted that we did the damage. My family stayed there are all with excellent credit records and honest with full integrity. No way for us to be insulted like this so we already disputed their charge through credit card company. This is the first time ever we got falsely accused and wrongly charged by a hotel with hostile management and fraudulent staff. What a shame!

Overall my boyfriend and I loved it. We are shocked on the reviews they got, because it truly is a good place. The room we had was very spacious and at times you could hear the highway but it wasn’t a big deal. I do believe i left my airpods in the room and have been trying to call but for some reason their phones aren’t working…

I live in Bellingham and this hotel is where I send friends that are coming to stay and don't need a fancy place. I own a business downtown and have people often come to Bellingham needing a place to stay close by. The Chrysalis and Bellwether are both great for high end stays, but the people here are very kind and the rooms functional. The location is close to downtown. It's an inexpensive hotel. The people have always been nice to me and everyone I send here.

I have never before left a bad review anywhere; that is not who I am. But here we go. This was the worst customer service experience of my life. The front desk person has the personality of a moody, eye rolling teenager, despite being a grown man. He made every interaction seem like I was such an inconvenience. I'm talking basic things like: booking the room, checking in, or getting a receipt. Eye roll. Audible sigh. Presses hands to temple. What a child. But also, the first night, my roommate and I find out our sink was completely stopped up... next morning when I ask for maintenance, the front desk guy tells me he could give me a snake so I could snake the sink myself. What? No. I'm not gonna do that. Later that day, close to a one thousand dollar charge hits my bank account---two rooms for two nights with two security deposits. He had billed me for my room and for my colleagues' room. When I tried to talk to him about this, he tells me that there's nothing he can do, I have to call his manager during the week. What are you talking about? Your only job is to fix things like this. There's nothing you can do? Don't lie right to my face. I'm a broke student, trying to attend a conference, and now I've got $16.50 left in my bank account and somehow I've gotta buy gas to drive home to Oregon; but I guess from your audible sighs and eye rolls that *I'm* inconveniencing *you*. My favorite part is: I had to leave to go to the conference, but my colleague---the one whose card wasn't charged because he charged mine twice---she has some time on her hands and tells him, "I'm not leaving until you sort this out." After 15 minutes of dragging his feet, he finally does fix the charge, confirming what we all knew: That he could fix it, he just didn't want to. I don't know why the manager would put up with this guy sending guests to her instead of just fixing things. I don't know why anyone would put this guy in a position where he ever interacts with any person, let alone a position where it's literally his only job. I sure hope he learns someday that he's making his life much harder by being so unpleasant. But I doubt it. I feel like such a Karen writing this all up. So I have to remind myself I'm asking for completely normal things like having a clogged sink cleared and to have an accidental debit card charge corrected. Long story short, don't stay here.

By far the friendliest and most efficient front desk personnel I have ever experienced. Comfy beds, modern rooms, great location right across of Fred Meyers. Great continental breakfast. Coffee available around the clock. Will definitely be back!

Our night was great! Cheap, nice, and comfortable. The only downside, the tv doesn’t have cable. But the blonde lady at the front desk was a doll, she was great, give her a raise! She deserves it. Would stay here again :)

We stayed here for vacation for 4 days and the rooms were very nice and clean. They had a great breakfast area and a good selection of breakfast. The staff was nice and courteous. I would recommend staying at this place whether it's for one night or many.

If you LOVE the smell of fabuloso cleaner, this is the place for you. Rooms are compact. Housekeeping is sort of random. Breakfast offers no eggs or meat. The spa was deadbolted, but opened on request. Then mysteriously "closed for cleaning" for 48 hours. But hey. Not the worst place i ever stayed.

The staff is friendly. The room is clean, and covers all of the basics you could need for a short stay (a/c, tv, snack machine, shower that can get really nice and hot). The bed is reasonably comfortable. For the price (nearly half the cost of nearby hotels) this is the perfect spot to stay for a short trip.

Room and bathroom were clean and I’d stay at this place again. However room service only cleaned up the bathroom and replaced the towels but did not do the bed - which is standard for every hotel I’ve been to. Also, the breakfast room is small for the amount of guests present - I had to stand and eat breakfast since all the tables were full. Other than the above the location is convenient with a cafe right next door and a grocery store too.

Note: sign at front desk says complimentary breakfast served 6am-10am but they actually only serve until 9am. So we missed it. Good location, and comfortable enough for the price we paid. Room seemed clean except the bathtub didn’t drain well. Front desk staff weren’t overly enthusiastic but they weren’t rude either.

We spent two nights at this location. It was a fair experience. The room was clean but a bit tired. This was pretty much the story with the rest of the hotel, it seemed to be feeling it's age. The continental breakfast was ok, I've seen better and I've seen worse.

I stayed here last November. I thought it was pleasant and very standard as well as affordable. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. I am planning a trip down that way soon and will stay there again.

Was very good me and my mom went here for 4 days and it was very clean the staff was nice and there was tons of movie options and they had almost every app to watch stuff on . The literal only bad thing was the beds and the neighbors but who can control those people. The beds were pretty stiff and it was a amazing spot to stay it was close to a lot of stuff.

The price was amazing. Our room was beautiful. If we come back to bellingham we will definitely be staying here again. I stayed only one night but i had a great experience. Their tv have netflix on it. The staff there was super nice. It was an easy check in and check out. Definitely coming back again!

My 6 day stay at Bellingham Inn, was a delight. The property was pretty and well looked after. Check-in was quick and polite. The staff was a attentive, and helped me with my many questions. I had to go to ER. One employee went out of his way to come pick me up from ER because taxi was late. The staff professional and lovely. The rooms asthetic. I can't say enough of of my positive experience about my experience!

Staff was excellent to deal with! Trouble booking and joining the Red Lion rewards plan because the computers were down. The night staff was most helpful helping me deal with an over booking. The GuestHouse Bellingham is my go-to place to stay when we visit family in the area!

Sonya checked us in with a smile and utmost consideration. She took our special requests and made it happen without a second question. My wife, two medium sized dogs and I were very happy staying here. We were given a room right by the back door in order to walk our dogs to the designated pet area, which was perfect!

Obviously the remodeling paid off. Awesome and clean place to stay, super friendly staff and very comfortable room we stayed in. In fact, we liked it so much we booked another night. We paid 1.5 times more for a gross room at another place the night before and so happy we found GH inn as our go to for an easy trip to the mountain for some skiing.

Location is prime. Beds are comfortable and when I visited the AC was much needed and Icy cold. If you want somewhere super expensive go elsewhere. The guesthouse has everything you need and focuses on what's important, comfy bed, good climate control. You can't beat the location. Really superb. Right next to Woods coffee, across the street from the grocery store, and walking distance or a short Uber to down town.

I did not have a chance to stay here, even though I booked weeks in advance, because when I called to confirm my booking the day before my stayi was sprung and EXTRA $250.00 deposit on top of my normal stay. Now, had I known ahead of time I would have ensured I had the money, but I did not. So I had to cancel. I told the person iver the phone they should disclose this, and she said they didn't have to till you checked in. Be aware of hidden fees.

Would not recommend. Great location and prices, but very poorly run. Guy at the front desk was incredibly nice but took almost 20 minutes to process our check in (which was completely paid for/handled ahead of time… we just needed the key). Waited around for a long time. Then, a housekeeper came out and yelled at the front desk guy. Very loud, rude and disrespectful - front desk guy tried to laugh it off but she was super mad and it made everyone in the lounge feel super awkward Once we got to our room, it was surprisingly dirty. It just felt dirty. I have never complained about cleanliness in a hotel and we travel all the time. But there were black dog hairs all over the bed and a bunch of stains on the comforter. Everything seemed grimy and musky. We were just there for a night so we didn’t complain but I definitely wouldn’t stay again.
