Our tourist guide recommended this traditional restaurant which is just two blocks away from Plaza Botero. There was a line to enter but the wait was worth it. The restaurant was full of customers but service is very quick and friendly. We had the bandeja paisa and the bandejita paisa and both were great, enough for a couple who regularly don't eat a lot. They accept credit cards which is great

This is a mandatory visit if you are visiting Medellin. I liked it so much I came back the next day. This restaurant has several locations around the city but there’s something special about dinning at the original location. If you can make it, I recommend coming to this location. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant and the surrounding area can be a little overwhelming if you are new in town, but you should be fine if you come during the day. My favorites from the menu: chicharrón, mondongo soup, and the limonada de coco.

The best typical Colombian food we had in Medellin. We're vegetarian and prefer non-greasy food and this restaurant was perfect. They have a few vegetarian appetizers and two vegetarian main course options. We had the small empanadas stuffed with potato, the patacones (fried plantains) and a main plate of rice, avo, egg and corn cake which also came with a bean stew that had corn and plantain in it. Environment was really nice. It's an upstairs restaurant away from the less desirable street side below. Light and airy atmosphere with an open balcony. Really friendly staff who speak some English and were so helpful.

Not bad, but definitely a touristy restaurant. A bit pricey and the portion is quite small compared to other restaurants. The taste a bit plain as well. I prefer more local taste.

Came for lunch with friends and our experience was truly remarkable. The restaurant boasts a charming and distinctive ambiance, while the culinary offerings exceeded all expectations with their remarkable flavors. Notably, the host exhibited exemplary customer service, demonstrating attentiveness to our needs without ever imposing haste. The overall atmosphere was truly delightful, leaving us thoroughly pleased with our visit. We eagerly anticipate returning in the near future.

I don’t understand why this place is so highly rated. We had the paisa plate and two juices here. And it was all pretty blend and tasteless. We had way better paisa in other places. It is a nice place to escape from the chaos that can be downtown.

Kind of a tourist trap on the main strip. The service is good and the terrace is pretty. However I’ve had better ajaico y mondongo elsewhere. Good prices. And the coco-limonada was the best I’ve had in the whole country!

While there’s certainly a million places in town to get cheaper food, and plenty to get more expensive too, I really like the price to quality ratio here. Unpretentious and delicious. (Except maybe the pulled pork waffles. Pretentious for days. They stand toe to toe with any extravagant American brunch dish.) Don’t expect American style attentiveness. After the initial greeting at your table, just make eye contact with any waiter for assistance. They will also ask before the bill if you want to add the standard 8% tip. It threw me off at first. It’s just the norm in Medellin. Be sure to have the Guandolo at least once. Panela is the bomb.

A very good restaurant to try traditional Colombian fare in downtown Medellin. Friendly staff and good service. But can be a bit busy during lunchtime. So be prepared to wait.

We tried the vegetarian option and were really impressed. Very tasty. The staff were friendly, but it did take a long time to pay. All in all it’s a great option if you’re in Junin street.

Excellent option for trying out, as a tourist, the original Colombian flavors. The place is beautifully decorated, staff is very kind too and there's a great view of the town. I ordered Bandeja Paisa and it was very tasty, clean presented and a great portion. Prices are a little up compared to similars, but it's just a little detail.

The place is beautiful and reminds you of the haciendas from other times with all the employees wearing those beautiful typical clothes.... then they serve you the most delicious food very well presented and per the whole group the best chicharron ever! Every detail was very close look upon so to gift you with a gorgeous time.

This place came highly recommended for some upscale local cuisine and they definitely hit the mark! Great food, great service, and fair pricing. Food also came out very fast and they have a great ambiance. Not sure if the live music is every night, but they had some tonight.

Amazing food and amazing service!! Walked in 20 mins before closing and the server treated us so great. Very thoughtful recommendations, and nice conversation. Will definitely go again next time in Medellin. The food is fantastic and very affordable.

A popular place and they do serve good food. I like that it seems busy but with a good service level. Most important at a restaurant is of cause the food and to the price they have excellent food.

😠 We ordered a mixed ceviche and it was very acidic, you couldn't eat it, the presentation was terrible in a plastic cup. We paid 28,900 each and it was just onion, a small fish bite and 3 shrimp.

👍👍 This is a traditional Colombian restaurant. I went around 12:40 pm, it was crowded but there were available seating. I ordered bandeja paisa. Portions were large and food was delicious. I also ordered cola zero and they brought 300 ml large bottle. Unfortunately 10% tip is included. I don’t like res...
