Restaurant

đź‘Ťđź‘Ť EXCELLENT restaurant with very fresh food fusing Colombian and Asian cuisines. Ceviche and sushi were great, but so were the steak dishes. Food boasted highly complex flavors and impeccable presentation. Favorite non-fine dining meal in Medellin!! This place was okay. The vegetarian Bao was great and they had some interesting sushi, but the four-appetizer dish was not good at all and had very fishy calamari. They also had us taste a corked bottle of wine and would not allow us to exchange it for a new one.

Excellent service. Made reservations to guarantee a seat. Wasn’t crazy about the ceviche, but the Bao and sushi was phenomenal

I’ve been here a few times, and it’s hit or miss. My first time was delicious. The next two times, just okay. Some dishes have too much sauce. The sauce is super heavy with cream, or mayo, or just way too sweet. Kinda ruins the dish. On one occasion the waiter tried to get me to tip him extra by telling me the tip wasn’t added to the bill, even though I told him to add it. It clearly had the “propina” on the bill and he did his best attempt to scribble over it. I asked what that charge was for…he didn’t answer, and asked me to tip him cash or transfer money to his personal account…pretty hilarious but also ridiculous.

The food was great but the service was slow. Ask them to place you on the inside away from the street as we had several vendors and beggars bother us during lunch (one was extremely insistent and got into an argument with our waiter). The cocktails were pretty good but the bao buns were amazing. The portions are pretty big so I recommend eating family style.

The best restaurant in Medellin! Great food and service! Very distinctive plates with unique flavors. Love their creativity in creating unique ceviche flavors. The inkaroll sushi and the ceviche enrollado were my favorite! HIGHLY recommended!!!

La causa is soo good that I event went to two of their locations. I tried quite a couple dishes and wow! The tiradiraditos where sooo good along w/ the sushi’s. Their mixed chaufa is also very delicious and their tuna bowl. I went a few times so that I can try various dishes, for some reason google is not letting me upload all the photos of the dishes I had. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking to try some good Peruvian food w/ a Colombian touch.

I decided on a rice plate with seafood. It included shrimp, calamari, talapia, muscles, and chicken as well. It was served in a cream sauce sprinkled with cheese. My wife had the ceviche, and we both enjoyed our meals, Peruvian style. For those of you who may come here and don't speak Spanish, no problem. There are a couple of servers that speak English, enough to help you and make you feel comfortable.

The dishes are unique and amazing. I learned a lot about new ingredients, and different ways of preparing food. The customer service was great and so was the atmosphere. Everything was a work of art. It's not that cheapest restaurant, but you get an amazing value for the price. I had a great experience. If you're ever in Medellin you have to come here!

I honestly have no idea how anyone can give this place a good rating! It’s just another hyped up restaurant in Provenza was less than average service and food which is less than average as well. VERY disappointing. The sushi was terrible. Tasted like rubber. It definitely was not fresh. And when the manager came over and asked us, we told her. Of course she didn’t do anything. Didn’t even offer to replace the dish. And to make matters worse, there was only one other table in the restaurant and we waited about an hour for 4 rolls of sushi! Ridiculous! The Oreo dessert was decent (this is the only reason I gave them a two star) and the person welcoming us when we entered was pleasant. Otherwise, the service wasn’t attentive at all. We definitely won’t be going back.

Service - Decent, not great and not terrible. Atmosphere - very pretty Drink - pretty good! Not strong but tasty Food - so disappointing. In honesty - I was between two different Peruvian/sushi places, here and Panko. I chose here, but due to a memory lapse I actually went to Panko first, I tried a few things, then left to come here because their menu interested me more. I was soooo disappointed. I have 3 rolls and all 3 of them were some of the nastiest things I ever had. It tasted like ranch on one, sour cream and onion dip on another, just overall NOT good. Really disappointing.

Excellent fresh seafood. Excellent friendly service. Couldn’t be happier with this new find. Nice menu with plenty of choices. The ceviche is fabulous. Big enough to share. Everything about this restaurant screams… it’s my new favorite place in Medellin!!! Pisco Sours are a refreshing addition to any meal. I can’t wait to go back and I will be sending my friends!!! Thank you Diego and Jhon for the great service!!!

I’ll start by saying if I could give this place 100 stars I would. This place was absolutely one of the best in the city for two reasons: First, if you eat here you NEED to ask for Diego!!! He is an absolute treasure in Medellín. He is so passionate about the restaurant and the food, and he does everything he can to make sure you have the best experience eating here. He is extremely friendly and knows every dish and drink on the menu, and can pair either with your tastes. My wife and I went to this restaurant twice, mostly because of his excellent service, and second of course for the amazing food. These are some of the best Peruvian/Japanese fusion dishes we’ve had! We HIGHLY recommend trying the Causa Kai. The mix of flavors was amazing!! We also tried the risotto, sushi, bao buns, octopus, and of course, the ceviche. All of it was phenomenal. If you are in the area you NEED to try this place

My cousin had recommended this place. LA CAUS, October 14, 2023. She'd visited 6 weeks earlier. I was skeptical here. I was in Colombia eating PERUVIAN food. Did not make sense to me i wanted to enjoy and taste Colombian gastronomy. I was not disappointed one bit. From the moment you arrived, the staff was exceptional, friendly, professional, and courteous. The place was modern, plants at the entrance decorated it. Nice music, not too loud where you can't have a conversation. I ordered my usual margarita, tasty, and lemon didn't overpower the tequila. Ordered the traditional PISCO drink. Also had a Cuba Libre made with Cuban Havana Club run (legit), and of course, how can you visit Colombia and not enjoy AGUARDIENTE blue cap for me. The "Guaro" as it's known nationally comes in 3 different colored caps (that I know) red (has sugar), blue ( no sugar), and green ( dry). We shared the Causa ceviche, which had shrimp, octopus, whitefish, red onions, white broth, delicious, tender, and fresh. They offer different sushi rolls. They offer vegetarian options for their dishes. We ordered the Nikkei which resembles a personal white pizza called without the bacon, and the rest was thin slices of octopus, Nikkei sauce (a Japanese/ Peruvian fusion) coriander yogurt sauce, and parmesan cheese. A very delicate, like soft cottage cheese but not lumpy, you can scoop it with a chip. Added the INSURGENTE made of Takani Tuna nicely cooked, a bright red color for your attention, surrounded by quinoa strings and carrots. We finished it off with the TATAKI de SOLOMITO (sirloin) tender chunks or cubes of sirloin cooked to perfection, not chewy, and delicate to the palate mixed with vegetables, excellent choice mouth watering. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Stop by when you visit Medellin, and you will not regret it.

Nikkei restaurant! Best sushi ever 🔥 I highly recommend you to try Victoria, Philadelphia and Crocante. Juices are so good; enjoy natural and traditional fruits. Staff is very kind, you will feel very comfortable.

I love this place and go every time in Medellin for the past 5 years. The food is always amazing. Nikkei at its best. wonderful frozen pisco sours too

If you visit Medellin, add this restaurant to your list of must trys. Great food and amazing service. Pisco Sours were delicious, boozy, and not too sweet. Octopus plates are a must order. Only con, unless you're a die hard fan of sour cream in sushi rolls, may have to ask them to not include it in every roll option.

The causa I ordered was delicious. However this was a replacement for the grilled octopus that came out tasting a week old. The restaurant isn’t anything memorable itself. I think generally the food would be good here but I see a couple others mention food quality issues. For their price point they should try a little harder.

The staff was very courteous and attentive. Diego knew the menu well and provided excellent recommendations. The appetizers were great, especially the Victoria roll; sweet and savory with the mandatory kick of wasabi. Deliciously prepared. The environment was on the noisy side as we were at the front but we had a local trio serenade us, to our delight. Very pleasant… 5 stars.
