Ajiacos y Mondongos

Restaurant

👍👍 My favorite soup restaurant in Medellin. Three soups, nothing else on the menu. I've had all three several times and they're all great, though the lentil soup is my favorite. While it's a mystery how Medellin developed three perfect winter soups when they never really have a winter, this is a great... People often mention soup, small, menu, mondongo, ajiaco,

This was a lovely small restaurant that provides the best traditional Colombian soups. Dress light as it gets pretty hot in the small eating rooms. I highly recommend the mondongo. I don't even like mondongo or menudo in general. Colombian mondongo is superior to menudo and Argentinian mondongo...both of which I can't stand.

My favorite soup restaurant in Medellin. Three soups, nothing else on the menu. I've had all three several times and they're all great, though the lentil soup is my favorite. While it's a mystery how Medellin developed three perfect winter soups when they never really have a winter, this is a great place to grab lunch in the middle of a remote work day, or in the middle of a storm. As with everywhere else, ask for the hot sauce for your soup.

Excellent Colombian food. Really enjoyed the cazuela, mondongo and ajiaco. It was very hard to choose what was my favourite. I would recommend everything on the menu since it has only.limited items..go in a bigger group so you can try everything.

This place specializes in 3 types of soup and is only open during the lunch hour. I had the mondongo soup which had lots of tripes - it did not disappoint. A few minutes walk away from Parque Lleras so if you had a long night of fiesta, come here some soup to cure your hangover. It’s a small cute place with old world traditional Colombia charm. I recommend that you give this place a try. Prices are affordable. I will be coming back for sure.

Very small place with colombian concept of mono-product. The place offering only 3 kind of soups. With additional extras. The food is good, but not exceptional. The portions are small, i would say, extremely small and way overpriced. Also, you might find autograph and sketch Botero on wall and different christian icons upon entres.

Absolutely amazing Columbian food for the adventurous types. It was hard to choose what to have even though the menu has just three options. I went for the cazuela de frijoles and I was so glad I went for the large size. Every single bite was so full of flavor. Would definitely come back.

It was the worst experience in Medellin! The server was such unprofessional. Just because we speak different language, he treated us so bad . When to the next table he was so nice. The manager didn’t even come out when I asked for it. With such a great food I wish it was a good service.

Mondongo (tripe soup) - Medellín’s home dish… A definite must try while in Medellín! Traditional Colombia restaurant serving amazing Ajiaco (Bogotá’s home dish) and Mondongo (Medellín’s home dish). Great service and amazing food! Worth visiting if you’re in the neighborhood!

First meal @ Medellín - very satisfying. The restaurant has a simple menu with only three traditional Colombian soup dishes. My favorites are the shredded chicken with potatoes and the beef tripe with yuca! The complimentary mini arepa is cute! It was also very nice that our waiter spoke English very well and he explained to us the right way to eat every dish!

I got the chicken soup, which was served with crema, arepa, rice and capers. The soup was filled with potatoes, chicken and corn. It is very hearty and filling. The drink with lime & panela is great. This seems to be a local favorite, my second time here...will come back again. Get the spicy salsa, it's well worth it.

I did not enjoy my sea bass, so dry and my drink had almost no alcohol; my husband on the other hand enjoyed their grilled meat; the setting is pretty next to a park

Good bean casserole with chicharrones. Nice flavor, ask for the spicy sauce. I’ve been told the mondo go is good to but no chance to try it yet

This place is so cozy and meals are so delicious, it feels like walking into someone’s home. There are only 3 options on the menu, including one vegetarian option. Everything we ate was a 10/10

I love that the menu is ajiaco, mondongo or cazuela.... thats it! easy to pick and quick to table... and the best Ajiaco de pollo!!! Highly recommended. The staff was amazing and the place very nicely decorated

Everyone talked about "if you go to medellin you have to stop by Ajiacos y Mondogos". They have only three options to order, I ordered Cazuela de Frijoles and was so delicious. Highly recommended.

The best Cazuela in Medellin! Three things on the menu, but all are cooked to perfection and taste delicious. A must try!

Went in here thinking this was going to be a great food experience after being recommended by a friend. The ajiaco was delicious but I've had better in Bogotá and Armenia. Ordered the "completa" for 5 mil pesos more and the portion size and bowl were quite small which was really disappointing. I was still hungry after eating the ajiaco because of how small the bowl and portion was. I would serve my 10 year old daughter the size soup I was served but not a grown man who is 40 + years old. These were skimpy child size portions, like the size of a soup you would get for a menu del día.

😠 We ordered a mixed ceviche and it was very acidic, you couldn't eat it, the presentation was terrible in a plastic cup. We paid 28,900 each and it was just onion, a small fish bite and 3 shrimp.

👍👍 This is a traditional Colombian restaurant. I went around 12:40 pm, it was crowded but there were available seating. I ordered bandeja paisa. Portions were large and food was delicious. I also ordered cola zero and they brought 300 ml large bottle. Unfortunately 10% tip is included. I don’t like res...

👍 Very nice food and very good service. It's a good restaurant for typical and authentic food, but it's a little bit pricey and the menu is rather limited.
