This tour is a must for anyone visiting Medellin. Our tour guide Sara (English tour) was friendly and knowledgeable as she's a local to Comuna 13. I knew almost nothing about the unrest in Medellin outside of the broad strokes let alone Comuna 13. She explained the deep history of the expansive area of Medellin, the guerrilla, paramilitary and political strife as part of the evolution of Medellin. Community activism lead to rapid change in this vibrant community. We had wonderful stops to learn about the commerce in the mountain top neighborhood. The passion and love for this community shows through in this tour. Cant recommend more highly. One of the best walking tours I have ever been on. Really moved me

Casa Kolacho is definitely your go to for the comuna 13 tour. They offer tours in both English and Spanish (if you’re not a Spanish native speaking person go with the English tour, the guides are local and their Spanish comes with an accent, you are probably risking not understanding them). Our guide David AKA el flako was amazing, his knowledge of la comuna 13 is beyond, if you don’t go for the break-dancing shows or the art shows you should definitely go for the food! La comuna 13 tour is definitely a must-do while in Medellin!

This tour is the most amazing experience. The tour guide allow us to learn the real history of the community and comuna 13 through the different murals along the neighborhood. We ended doing our own graffiti. 100% the best.

What a meaningful experience with Casa Kolacho, that went beyond just a tour of the Comuna 13, our visit makes a difference for the people living there. Our guide, JuDa, was so down to earth and honest when explaining the history and how the changes in the neighborhood are remarkable for many reasons. He showed us through the street art and shared the intimate stories behind the colors. We tasted local specialties, watched street performances and explored by local bus as the people do. At the end we visited Casa Kolacho to see the various arts taught, practiced and donated from the center to help the community. We even got to participate, a great surprise at the end. I am so grateful to see and understand Comuna 13 in a deeper way. Supporting and enjoying this powerful place, nothing better.

We had an amazing time during our tour with Casa Kalacho. Our guide Sara took her time to explain everything in great detail. We learnt a lot about the history and current situation of La Comuna 13 and Colombia in general. Casa Kalacho is doing great work to help the local community! Would highly recommend booking a tour!!

Adrian was an absolutely fantastic tour guide for my wife and I showing us the rich history of his neighborhood and greater Medellin. Great English, very friendly, not pushy, considerate of our requests and also a pretty talented freestyle rapper! Highly recommend!

Our experienced was tempered, to be sure, by the uncomfortable extreme heat and by our limited understanding of the Spanish spoken. (I’m usually able to follow spoken Spanish quite well but I think our guide’s Spanish was “barrio español” and I found it very difficult to follow.) Even so, we felt our guide went into laborious detail. Others seemed to be following closely, so maybe it was just us, or maybe they were acting? In any case after fully two hours we still had seen hardly any of the artwork for which the comuna is so well known, and witness none of the dancing or music. Disappointed, hot and miserable we left the tour an hour early, and did witness some good break dancing on our way back home. Nonetheless, a visit to Comuna 13, given a really good guide,is highly recommended. The history of the comuna is an important one well worth hearing and witnessing.

This group of people is amazing, they work hard to bring art and culture to the community. The Graffiti tour is amazing and you will see outstanding pieces of art, along with an explanation for the artists of how they are inspired by the history of the neighbourhood. One of the best things to do in Medellín!

Leading the artistic revival of District 13 is Casa Kolacho, a community of artists that has weaponized youth with DJ, rap, graffiti and break dance. The four elephants that will never forget.

A different view of the history of one of the side effects of drugs in Colombian society. These guys are living proof of the existence of alternative ways of making a living through understanding and peaceful problem solving. If more people did this tour and really understood what the use of illegal drugs is doing to our people, our low income youth would have different opportunities.

😠 We ordered a mixed ceviche and it was very acidic, you couldn't eat it, the presentation was terrible in a plastic cup. We paid 28,900 each and it was just onion, a small fish bite and 3 shrimp.

👍👍 This is a traditional Colombian restaurant. I went around 12:40 pm, it was crowded but there were available seating. I ordered bandeja paisa. Portions were large and food was delicious. I also ordered cola zero and they brought 300 ml large bottle. Unfortunately 10% tip is included. I don’t like res...

👍 Very nice food and very good service. It's a good restaurant for typical and authentic food, but it's a little bit pricey and the menu is rather limited.
