Nice little town with some good historic background, included in most tours to the Peñol, so nice stop during the Tour.

Neat little replica of a town that was flooded to make a lake. Pablo Escobar's former home is a quick boat ride away.

We went to Don Oscar Restaurant, the service was great,we drink 2 exotic beers each one cost 16.000cop the black one was very strong and the red too sweet. Was Monday at 6.30pm several places were closed. The waiter was very helpful,he changes the music for us and give us the taxi number to get back home

It's a small town, where we went there for our boat tour. The people are nice. The only bad thing is that the El Peñon sign is right in front of a slippery slope/ cliff. There's only about 4 feet between the sign and the cliff. Really bad location. Everyone was taking side pictures of it. Please be careful.

A very interesting 1:5 replica of the old town of Peñol and it's free to enter! Lots of souvenir shops (naturally) but many shops have pictures of the history of the old city. My fave? There are a bunch of old dogs in this replica city that wander around and have been "adopted" by the folks here. My favourite is an old lady dog named Juana. Look out for her next time, she is very gentle :)

Quick entrance. I recommend buying some fruit/candy and beverages beforehand (to avoid dehydration and feel better if overwhelmed or lightheaded!- I handed these out to fellow visitors and it helped tons). The place itself was very beautiful and so are the views, but the stairs themselves can get tiring so do pace yourself and be patient. One star off for some safety concerns (no adequate energy exits or easy access, limited resources once you start going up, can be quite crowded, small steps).

What a wonderful experience. The history behind Peñol is very interesting, and if you are traveling with a tour guide, you will enjoy learning more about it. Great views, good place to shop for souvenirs. It's worth the visit.

This replica is a must see when visiting Peñol. I don’t want to ruin your trip by telling you everything in this review, however do visit the store that will allow you to go upstairs stand on the balcony and take a picture in one of their sombreros. Friendly people that will leave a lasting impression in your heart and mind.

An extra ordinary city. You see and smell old times. A very beautiful view over the lake with the top of the churchcross reaching above the water. Nice touristic stores.

Mainly souvenir shops. Its a small replica of the actual town that was sunk. The lake nearby is great for boating.

This is good for a quick visit on the way to the Rock and to Guatape. Be sure to visit the man selling avocado lemonade because that stuff was delicious. It didn’t sound good when he said it but it tastes amazing and refreshing. Go say hi to the dogs sleeping inside the church - they are so cute. Plenty of souvenir shops and some places to eat but we didn’t eat there. Just bought a few things to take as souvenirs and headed on our way.
