Three men walked into my room during my stay unannounced while two of my roommates were undressed and hotel management won’t do anything about it!! I rented 9 hotel rooms and a conference room at Hotel Dorado for 30 leaders of my nonprofit org for 4 days. On day 2 of our stay a mysterious man bolted into our room unannounced and saw my roommate completely undressed. Why would someone outside of our party could have access to our room!? We went to hotel managers Joanna and Marco and they won’t do a single thing about it. They tell us it is not a big deal just “a matter of perspective”. Shortly after reporting this, Marco charged into our room with another man behind him completely unannounced, didn’t knock, just opened the door while yet ANOTHER girl was undressing and would not leave the room claiming he is trying to “fix the problem”. Marco and Joanna need to be fired! At this point all the girls in my organization were scared, some were crying, we all felt completely UNSAFE. The management was harassing us. They have camera’s on every floor and when we asked they claim there is no footage of these events (how convenient!!!) so now we are filing suit against them so they can release the footage to us. On top of all of this mental &emotional trauma my girls went through,I spent over $3,000 for hotel rooms, conference room, and hotel catering and the hotel won’t refund us for the services and rooms we didn’t use after the incidents. This would be THE LEAST they can do.

My stay at Hoel Dorado la 70 greatly exceeded my expectations! The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Eateries and entertainment venues are within walking distance. I recommend this hotel to anyone considering a visit to the area.

I have stayed here three times. Felipe, even though I like him , mesed up my reservation by not putting my reservation with my correct name and correct amount of beds. Yeseñia, Valetina and Giovani are wonderful. However over the course of two days I complained about the blackout curtains not functioning , three times. Andrea told me to just keep the curtains down rudely. She also said she contacted management and lied about that. I spoke to coordinator Marcos Muñoz the final day and he said they couldn't give me any type of compensation because the system is down which I did not believe. He said he couldn't even offer me a free drink at checkout which is also BS. If something is wrong with your room, don't expect a solution just alot of nice words and BS.

Located on an area full of bars and restaurants, this hotel gives you the best value for your money. The rooms are comfortable, WiFi is fast, breakfast is included, their service is excellent. Their rooftop bar gives you an unbeatable view of the city. I'm definitely staying there again when I go back to Medellin.

Imo more like a 3* hotel but it’s okay + good wifi + good shower + okay gym + friendly English speaking male receptionist - female receptionist don’t speak any English - breakfast is like an animal feeding (you have to stay in line to get 5 dishes) they have way to little tables, no variety of dishes and you need to get a ticket first

You can find better. First, this place is REALLY noisy. You’ll hear everything from the parties on the street that go on into the early hours of the morning which makes it difficult to sleep. Second, the “American” breakfast is about as authentic as any of the restaurants here that claim to have authentic foreign food. Scrambled eggs with corn? Pass. Two fruits to choose from, watermelon or pineapple? Pass.

Great hotel, professional staff, clean rooms, and a tasty breakfast included. The neighbourhood is very fun and the view from the rooftop bar is amazing. The only thing many might not like is that it's a very noisy neighbourhood, lots of music and merrymaking... ask for a room on the 11th floor to be away from the noise.

The hotel is nice and in a great location. However my friend, whom I came to Medellin to visit, was not allowed in my room for over 15 minutes without me getting charged extra. He and I work online and this was a big inconvenience. The rooms are not at all sound proof. What they mean is you cannot hear the noise on the streets. You can hear just about any noise inside the hotel and it's noisy, especially with the bar on the roof. I would stay again for sure.

The beds are granite slabs. Super uncomfortable. Many amenities like the hair dryer or hot water in the vanity don't work. It was definitely overpriced by a lot for what it is. Many of the rooms are interior rooms with no windows to the outside. The breakfast was plentiful and good tasting. It says the room has soundproofing but I heard everyone's alarms going off in the morning.

Good hotel. Very nice property , excellent rooms and bathrooms with hot water , excellent Wi-Fi throughout the hotel . You can get extra guests to the room. Very nice neighborhood , busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Very reasonable price and busy hotel. Excellent courteous staff. The only downside, is the breakfast , very small area and lot of people , and finishes at 9.00 am. Breakfast ain’t great either , so no point in waking up early to eat . But very much recommend hotel. Very nice roof top .

It's next to everything, if you like to party and have local food. Everything is down stairs. 12th floor has an amazing view to the stadium 🏟. With a bar I may add. I don't recommend their complementary breakfast. It is not great. But it's nice, clean, a lot of cabs pass by, the metro is walking distance.

I stayed one night in the premium rooms. It was very nice and clean and large with a walk out balcony. The bed was nice and firm, so no problems for my creaky back. Lots of hot water for the shower. The only minor was that the electronic control to lower the window blind wasn't working. But the curtains shielded most of the light. We didn't eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar upstairs. The lobby bar where we had a few beers only took cash. Breakfast was a bit crowded with bench style seating to accommodate everyone. You have to get a ticket at the front desk for breakfast before waiting in line.

Stayed for 9 days on a first trip to Colombia. Ended up moving rooms from 3rd floor balcony to 7th floor balcony halfway through because of disruptive guests across the hall. Staff were sympathetic and upgraded our room. Staff was uniformly professional and helpful. Busiest hotel lobby i have ever experienced. Lots going on, the nightlife will dominate your experience so Salsa fans rejoice and Salsa foes book a room on the side farthest from the street. But, who could be a Salsa foe really? Breakfast was basic and traditional but perfect for first visit to Colombia, there is always the Tostao kiosk at the front if cafe and croissant is more to your liking. Hotel is clean, safe (except for loud Americans next door) and a nonstop hive of activity. Upgrade those mattresses though!

Room was great, only thing you have no safe, no hangars. Besides that location is great, service is great. Breakfast was to cheap, small portions. Service was great. Awesome views.

Check in process was smooth and easy, the receptionists are bilingual. Really appreciated the welcome drinks (which are free). The room itself was big and clean. Showers had plenty of hot water. Highly recommend the city view upgrade (with balcony). The beds could use a upgrade - they are pretty stiff. As far as amenities go, the free breakfast was pretty good (you’ll need to grab a ticket from the front desk) I didn’t get a chance to check out the gym and steam room, but I know it exists. The only drawback to this hotel is it’s location. If you can sleep through some noise, you won’t have a problem. There are many bars and restaurants along this busy street, which are open til late hours in the night, and they can get pretty loud. All in all, 4/5 stars and I would return.

Roof top deck with amazing views. Amazing people. Great breakfast. Nice rooms. Didn’t have a window but very clean. Also had a steam room in the gym. It was great and It was clean and I was the only one using it.

Nicest Hotel on the famous "La 70" strip. Rooms are very modern and comfortable with good internet for around $40 per night when I was there in 2023. There's a nice bar downstairs and complimentary breakfast. Yes, this area is noisy due to the all night lively location with all its clubs and restaurants...that is La 70. If you need quiet, stay in a different area, perhaps Envigado

Hotel was clean and well-run. The location is convenient, but very loud (even on the 4th floor) due to all the nightclubs outside. Short walk to the closest metro station. Great view from the top of the hotel.

Nice hotel, nice staff members, nice location. Restaurants, bars, and clubs are all present once walking out of the hotel front door. Wifi speeds are decent. Breakfast could be better. Mattresses are very hard. Highly recommend.

I had the worst check-in experience of my life at this hotel. The ladies at the front desk were completely rude and had terrible customer service. I speak a little Spanish, but they were frustrated and one of them told me "we speak only Spanish here." I was absolutely traumatized by those words. They put me in a loud room close to the streets and music on the 4th floor. I ended up changing rooms. The staff were also touching each other inappropriately, which I found bizarre. Everyone else I interacted with was nice and spoke a little English. The breakfast was superb. The area was safe. I checked out early and the hotel did not refund me, which I thought was unfair. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have stayed here a few times. The breakfast closes at 9 am. To early. But I liked the small casino next door. But this time something happened with the bed. Felt like I was sleeping on a cardboard box w an inch of cushion. Horrible cushion. I asked if they could replaced it twice. They did not. So I changed hotel.

Top shelf spot. Ultra modern and nicely appointed. Stage your necessary assault on Medellin from here just like I did

Comfortable and with excellent amenities. Service can be a bit slow but I'd say this is mainly due to understaffing. The location is convenient but quite noisy; nearby bars can be heard well into the night

I book a 2 rooms for my wife and I and our parents we wanted to have a romantic decorations in one of the rooms, but the application charged me for both rooms, and none of them were decorated with anything when I brought it to their attention, they did not do anything. They told me that they didn’t know anything about it, and that they couldn’t help me that I had to contact the place I booked with. Their breakfast is terrible they only give you eggs every morning and they barely give you one you don’t get full with their breakfast, nor do they have anything else in the menu. It is very simple they barely give you anything to eat. They cleaning ladies expect you to give them tips every single time that they clean the room overall, this hotel has a terrible service and I don’t recommend it for anybody who is going to the city go somewhere else

Sascha Küttel and Oscar Bustos Sanchez We have just been there again from October 27th to October 28th. We stayed there for a couple of nights the first time because we were looking for an apartment. and we are both very happy with the hotel. The staff and security are very attentive, friendly and helpful. We have now found an apartment in Ceiba del Norte, but keep coming back to this hotel to have a little partying in the bar, right out of the hotel, it's called ROUTE66. I can only recommend it and I wish everyone a wonderful stay.

Good , clean rooms, very noisy from the clubs will keep you awake until 4:30 am specially on weekends if you face carrera 70, I have been at this hotel 4 times in the last 3 years, the breakfast is very bad, and the same choices, since the first time,: rice, scrambled eggs. vienna sausages some bad bread, limited fruits.

Loved the room and balcony! Great location if looking for clubs and bars. Be sure to ask for a room up high and on the mountain side with a balcony. Rooftop bar and area was nice. Breakfast buffet was serviceable. Tour desk was helpful and the coffee kiosk in the lobby had quality offerings. Would definitely recommend. You might also want to take advantage of the gym and massage offers.

Located in a very nice location very congested at times mainly on the outside rooms are nice defending on what you pay for so check your options of different rooms of course I didn't have a bad experience can't speak for anyone else I have heard of different radic experiences while I was there just be mindful and and pay very good attention to everything with pricing and room service 👍

Ok hotel room, but super lame management. Very inefficient service and rude employees. During check-in, they insist in having someone walk you to the room to confirm minibar contents, and expect a tip if they touch any of your luggage. I was also delayed quite some time during checkout, because they had to reconfirm that I didn’t take anything out of the minibar. Stay here if you must, but don’t expect any good hospitality….

This hotel in laureles is crazy loud. I wasn’t able to sleep until 3-4am because of the loud music outside and I was on the 7th floor. The breakfast was very simple with minimal options. The coffee shop downstairs always had vendors sitting on the chairs for the coffee shoppers so there was nowhere to sit. I would stay away from this hotel. There’s a lot better options with similar prices.

  • 2/5 Nadine D. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms facing the street are loud. Bring ear plugs even though they do not help. Do not get rooms on the first floor same level as meeting rooms. they have functions and set up sawing, hammering late at night then tear down in the middle of the night. You hear them moving tables and chairs. You can also hear lobby noise Breakfast include fair. Very helpful if you speak Spanish. If you don't, some times you are definitely out of luck.

  • 1/5 Michael V. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel management was not helpful and somewhat rude. The area is nice to party. But you could hear the street nice loud enough in the hotel rooms. After two days I couldn’t take it anymore and switched hotels. If every now and then you like a good nights rest, this isn’t the hotel for you.
