We travel a lot and almost never leave a review unless it’s to praise the business, but this warranted a review. Dann Carlton Belfort is Not a 5 star hotel…Poor customer service from many interactions with employees in the front desk, restaurant, bar, hallways. They are not friendly just a very cold demeanor. The hotel is extremely dated from the rooms to the gym. We’ve stayed at their main location, and it was better. The rooms did not look like they were cleaned. The mini bar menu had hair and dust all over it, hair in our bed, plastic wrappers on bed room floor, bathroom counter I had to clean it with a Clorox wipe to remove the stains. And on top of it, the floor above us was making the loudest noises beginning at 7am. When we went to check, the whole floor was being remodeled, floors and beds being installed. Many other guests were coming out of their rooms extremely bothered by this. And not being mentioned by the hotel in advance. I’ve included a video of how loud it was. When I asked the front desk, they completely ignored our concerns and brushed off the fact it was a drill for 12 hours. We had someone trying to sleep recover post surgery and another trying to work remotely. It’s so unfortunate to express all this because you just want to relax during your stay but there was always an issue.

The hotel is well known because it's a Dann cobranded hotel. I did the reservation with Rocketmiles because I got an offer with the Lifemiles program but this seem to be an upsetting thing for the hotel staff. Luisa Gonzales and Natalia Morales de receptionist were the most rude and unprofessional people I could handle with, they response were that I paid for an deal and with that fare I should accept that the hotel is falling down and not even request for things. The rooms are updated and look back to the 90s, this hotel needs to be modernized ASAP. Actually you'll find good fares but this is not something you'd like with the service. I cannot complain of the service of the handmaid's, waitress and security because they were awesome and they deserve to be recognized. If I had a second Chance of coming I'll not come back!

With my husband we spent a night recently. Music on the speakers that could be heard up to the bedroom and we realized the other day a window in the suite room was open. No complete toiletries, missing a bathing cap and only one hand and body soap for both of us. For the price there are better hotels in Medellin.

We stayed in the hotel for 5 days on July 5th weekend. Breakfast: ***** Incredible!!! Rooms: ***** Good size, comfortable , clean, Pool area: **** Needs a little love but it was enough Gym and Sauna: *** Needs upgrade People and Service: ***** They were very helpful and friendly Location: ***** Quiet but close to everything Our family was happy and had a blast. The people (service)and breakfast did it for me. Will come back, I felt at home.

This is in no way a five star property. It’s possible that the hotel awarded itself stars. Prior to my arrival I communicated with the reservations department to arrange a paid early check in since we would be arriving early in the morning after a 14 hour travel time. The check in staff knew nothing of this arrangement and told me all rooms were dirty. He also informed me that the suite my sister (arriving on a later flight) had reserved for her family had been given away to another group. It was all very Seinfeld and the car rental reservation. They took the reservation, but they did not hold the reservation. The room they gave us was absolutely filthy. The upholstery on the chairs was so stained as far as I am concerned they were unusable and made me feel queasy. The floor was neither vacuumed nor mopped, and had sticky splotches of goo and the bathroom floor had several long hairs upon it and clearly was not cleaned either. No complimentary water, and the bathroom amenities were shampoo, lotion and a bar of soap. Most offensively, the bathroom sink had received a coat of paint to hide the state of the porcelain underneath and the paint was all peeling off. I’ve seen nicer room upkeep at a super 8. There were also only 2 plugs in the entire room for charging devices. When my sister contacted the hotel they gave her a totally different story than what they told me, and they told her if she had wanted a guaranteed reservation she should have prepaid. The unapologetic dishonest and unhelpful attitude of the phone attendant was more than my sister was willing to tolerate and we decided to cut bait and hightail it out of this dump. Excellent place to stay in Medellin and it had a great price, we stayed for 4 days and the breakfast was great every morning and the staff was always willing to provide assistance at all times. The pool are has 2 Jacuzzis and we used them both.

Excellent service and great food. The room is as an apartment, comfortable.

The Hotel facilities were a mess since the minute we registered. Someone from Staff was a fine thieve who stole from the safety box in our room $2,000.000 Colombian pesos. The Hotel administrator was very diplomatic about it, applied a polygraph test to his staff that came out negative. How do you explain that the money walked out from the safety box without the box being violated? Easy! The Holy Spirit revealed to me that the thieve was a fine thieve that knew the rules, policies and regulations of the hotel in reference to the safety box. There was another extra door in our room that communicated to our room that we found extremely rare but, our fault was to trust that the Hotel staff will have the integrity to race care of our possessions. Sebastian was extremely rude to us and refused to show us the video recordings even though we had the Fiscalía papers that shows the evidence of our report to the police, the Fiscal informed us that the Hotel was to solve the matter internally without making us go through that tedious process. Sebastian who spoke to us early in the morning made us come back to the hotel in the afternoon to show us the videos and flipped to us saying he never said, and that he was not authorized to show us the activities or in and outs from our room, but after we spoke with the administrator Manuel Mejia who was very polite, he proceeded just to show us one part of the video. and a hypocrite who was only concern about his behind and position. I will not recommend the Dan Carlton Hotel to anyone, I found that it was abusive, and someone who is a fine and has certain rank or position is conducting organized crime inside the hotel to steal and take advantage of the good faith of guest travelers. I will never forget this horrible aggravating experience. The Hotel simply washed their hands like Poncio Pilatos.

We had what they called a junior sweet. Two rooms but totally open no privacy Only one television. To small bathroom with toilet. To enter the bathroom and toilet area was not comfortable the door was to big and opening to the inside. No switches to put on or off the lights in the second room.

The hotel is clean, the personal is kind, the breakfast is great and the wifi works very good to log in web conferences. However, the website should specify there are two hotels in the city since I mixed them up. El hotel es bueno pero deberían especificar que hay dos en la ciudad.

Not really a 4-5 star hotel, poor customer service and dated rooms. We also wanted a quiet room to have a decent rest, however at 5am a fire alarm on the hall started to go off. Called many times to reception and every time they said it was going to be checked. We left the hotel at 11 am and it was still making the same noise that was really irritating and caused a lot of stress on us. We complained in reception and not even an apology was given.

Awesome VIP treatment! Amazingly beautiful hotel inside and out. Delicious full hot breakfast from 6-10 am. The jr suite was huge. Waking to the sound of the birds singing in a King sized bed. Open sitting area with sofa, table, chairs, and what looked like a 60” television. Almost instant hot water in the shower. Looking forward to another stay here.

Good customer service at night at the restaurant, the rest of the service was average or bad, very few times the staff helped me opening the door of my cab when arriving or leaving with tons of bags

Wonderful helpful personal. Great breakfast. Rooms are outdated but clean. Very comfortable huge king-size bed.

Terrible nasty staff, if u want ur stay in a hotel to feel like ur in some goverment run facility where there is no service and you just get looks and bad energy fron everyone, then stay at dann carlton belfor. Nasty nasty ppl, really disgusting ewwww.

Terrible customer service. They charged us something that most include with what we paid for the stay! They didn't even apologize to us, and on top of that, consumption in the mini bar and restaurant increased and I barely ate once in their restaurant. We came from Europe to get and a bad experience in Medellin hosting ! First and last time 👎🏼

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel. The staff are incredibly professional and friendly. Very accommodating. The location is pretty good, close to two major shopping malls. I highly recommend you stay here. The food especially was fantastic.

This should be a 5 star however I love to workout and the gym wasn't what I expected. Everything else was awesome!!

The only enjoyable thing about the hotel is the restaurant and bar very lovely staff at the bar the rooms tho could use some upgrading no speakers in the room nowhere to charge your phone next the bed controllers missing and this was the suite can’t image the regular rooms aside from the room everything else about the hotel is pleasant

It's a great hotel, although leaning a bit on the expensive side of things, but that's a given (it's a 5 star hotel after all). All facilities are clean and neatly organized and the service was pretty good overall. Rooms were pristine and food quality was very good, although again, expensive. The location is good, in a quiet neighborhood, with a pretty view and lots of trees to provide a more natural-looking environment. Definitely great for short stays or for the busy businessperson who needs a comfy place to rest.

We stayed here for about a week. It’s a nice hotel on a nice and quiet location. Breakfast is tasty but wouldn’t recommend the restaurant or the cocktails. Pool is nice for a swim and the hammam sauna was great. All in all I would recommend the hotel for its good price/value. I would rate this hotel 5/5 but.. as I said we stayed here for the location and quietness, turns out they hosted a superloud birthday party on the lobby level on the saturday we stayed there, like we’re staying in a hotel above a disco which was totally unacceptable. The front office did do their best to turn down the music (twice) but this shouldn’t be done or allowed by the management. We ended up having a broken night while going on a Guatape tour at 6am :(. Something to consider when you want to stay here the weekend.

Amazing VIP treatment. We booked a suite since we had a lot of stuff for the upcoming exhibition and it was best located for everyday travel to the Plaza Mayor. The cab service was quick and the concierge manager ( esp. Mr. Joan Poblado) - Gave us some amazing recommendations during our stay (to visit Guatape) and also made our stay there very special (made attending a salsa night possible)! Although i would recommend them to increase more vegetarian options in the future for travellers like us. But all in all, the best experience I've had!! Forever grateful.

It has beautiful, sharp and clean rooms. The facilities are nice, except for the gym that is small and poorly equiped. The restaurant is expensive and the food doesn’t match the price. (Waiters don’t understand the dishes and sometimes food is served cold) Reception and booking personnel is not that friendly.

The place and the rooms are a bit aged but the food and overall service is 👌🏼

I only got these 3 pictures because I prefer to enjoy trips and what they are offering to me v:. The hotel has a great location, service, you sure going to feel spoiled. If you want to make a reservation, Make sure to include breakfast. 5 to 5 for a hotel that still got carpeted halls in building.
