DIGITAL NOMAD DREAM - If you are looking for a forward operation base from where you can explore Medellin while having access to fast WIFI, free coffee.. I repeat.. FREE COFFEE, salsa lessons, social dances, Spanish lessons etc. then this place is for you. The people are absolutely wonderful and that is probably an understatement. With that being said be aware that You will share the office and have to be considerate of other people. This place is a blessing 🙏🏽✊🏽

I’ve been working 12 years with the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans and after spending a month traveling around Europe decided to make a quick stop for 5 days in Medellin. This is my first time staying at a hostel and my expectations were low, all I can say is that this guys completely knocked it out of the park, Los patios feels like a big family from Luis in the reception to the guys in the coffee shop and the over night security I forgot his name, Jesus is a great dance instructor (bachata and salsa) You have to go to the bar on the roof top, special shout out to Juan the bartender, this guy made me feel right at home and always was very attentive, he reminds me of being a ritz Carlton associate! If you need anything around Medellin he is your guy! You have to try chef Juan Pablo burgers (omg) one of the best burgers ever! Los patios I’ll be back! Thanks for everything!

One of the best hostels I’ve been to! They have activities almost everyday, like salsa lessons, which are super fun, free coffee, rooftop bar with a crazy view of the city. Not to say it is a good place to work, for digital nomads. I can’t wait to get back! They also have tours, and pubcrawls, if you want to go out with the other people during the night…and it is extremely fun 🤩

I stay here for two weeks! Stephanie is a great party host and she hook us up with fun adventures everyday for 2 weeks straight. I highly recommend coming here to stay if you are a “gringo”. They take good care of you and the rooms are nice. Plenty of space to cook your own food and they have parties if you want something to do at night time. Never a boring night at Los patios.

Easily one of the best experiences I have had traveling abroad, so much so I wanted to leave a review! I stayed for three weeks in a private room with a balcony that had a beautiful overlook of the city. Every day the hostel had activities that explored all aspects of Colombian culture such as dancing, cooking, tours of the city/surrounding countryside, and much more. The rooftop bar has an incredible bartenders and beautiful drinks. The staff, including my favorites Steph and Juli, made every night one to remember. They obviously love what they do and strive to make every night an experience through dancing, socializing, and creating an inclusive space for everyone. For me personally, it was nice to make two new genuine friends. I'm already planning my next trip back!

I came here as a Solo traveler from the USA in December and had an 11/10 experience. Especially for coming during a pandemic this hostel had so much to offer without even leaving the property and the staff was so nice. Especially Jesus the bartender who went so far beyond hospitality and made me feel like a true friend immediately. He also had great dance moves and made good drinks but that's besides the point. The point is if you want your accommodations to have lots of amenities and friendly staff this is the place to go

Great experience with lovely staff. The rooms were clean and had comfortable beds. The bar hopping was great fun as we all got to know each other at the start but the clubs were mostly techno which is fun but not usually that easy to keep getting to know people. The price for the rooms is good but the extras like drinks on site are a little above the normal which isn’t usually the case for hostels

Main reason for the great review is the customer service! Camilla really helped make this experience a great one after we got off to a bit of a bump start. Without her offering amazing customer service and empathy it probably would not have been a 5 stars! There are two separate buildings for Los Patios (you will have access to both, but I highly recommend finding out before hand which building you are staying at based on your sleeping needs) This building has a really fun rooftop bar that is open to 11:30pm and can definitely be noisier because the other rooftop with the pool closes at 830pm. Having stayed in both building I believe the rooms are better in the other building as it is a bit newer and the interior rooms in this building don’t get as much light. This building does have the cafe and the food was pretty good and the service was quick if you need a quick bite before hitting the city. Not a ton of shelf space in the rooms but was not a big thing for us as we are able to make the most of space. The tours offered by the building were great and highly recommend the Graffiti Tour. Overall a good stay with a super friendly and interactive staff!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stated in! It’s clean, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the coffee shop and food are fantastic! Lots of activities offered to meet other people, but still quiet at night. I found it very social and easy to meet others as a solo traveller. Highly recommend!

Probably the best hostel that I’ve ever stayed at. Great for solo travelers. Nice environment, activities everyday, helpful staff and well located. Would definitely recommend!

Best Hostel in Medellín. Seriously. First off - any reviews you read about the staff being amazing are absolutely true. They are so friendly, multi-lingual, and are so accommodating. They really make the stay a great experience. The location is also perfect for travelers, the rooms are very nice (and there's a gym + pool), and the vibe is second to none. I'd absolutely stay here again!!

Best hostel in Colombia, perfect for solo travelers! They put so much effort in making sure you socialize (rooftop parties, dance classes, party bus..) and the facilities are very good: towel, soap, 2 bathrooms per dorm, fan in each bed.. and the view from the rooftop is amazing, you won’t regret it !

My first experience at a hostel so I went with a private suite and I had an amazing time! Staff were great, my room was great, lots of activities and I really liked the rooftop amenities. Would definitely recommend.

A great hostel - I recommend staying here. First up, the location is in a lovely part of Medellin. As a female solo traveller, the street felt safe to wander around alone, and there were loads of restaurants, cafes and bars within 100m of the hostel. The hostel is comprised of two buildings - whichever one you stay in, you can use facilities in both. One building has a nice little cafe which is a great place to chill when the day starts, and the other building has a gym, laundry facilities and even a rooftop pool. Both buildings have rooftop bars which offer fantastic views of Medellin (although I did find them quite empty both nights that I went up!). The rooms are great - I stayed one night in a private room and then moved to a female dorm (as the private room was booked out). The private room was very comfortable, with a large bed, big bathroom and a TV with Netflix. My only comment is that it was perhaps a little bit loud from street noise, but I slept great regardless. The dorms are also nice - the beds are comfortable and come with curtains, which offers a good feeling of privacy. They were clean and the bathrooms were also clean and modern. The hostel has activities on every day, including a varied of tours and evening activities. You can have your whole holiday planned out based on activities offered by the hostel, and this makes life very easy.

Great hostel for solo travelers. They offer all the Tours and some free activities. It’s the perfect start to explore Medellin. The rooms are clean. They have a great kitchen, free coffee. Also the area is very nice with lots of great restaurants and I felt pretty safe also during night. Just make sure to book in advance as they are sold out quite fast!

This was the first time I stayed in a hostel and I think Los patios was the perfect place to start my hostel career. Clean, friendly staff, amazing food. Especially the avocado toast, I had it twice because it was fantastic. Safe location, there were 2 guards every night at the main door. Lots of (a bit overpriced) activities provided by the hostel. Overall was worth it. If I go back to Medellin I will stay here again. Saludos.

Great hostel. Rooms are clean and spacious with en suite bathrooms and hot showers. Great location near good restaurants, other fun hostels, and a short walking distance from the main touristy area. We receptionist also put me in touch with Juan who helped me get AMAZING tickets to the soccer game (3rd row at midfield - thank you Juan). I highly recommend going to game if you can while you’re there.

We had a room on 5th floor, which means you hear the music from the bar above. And from the hallway, you constantly hear sounds of loading of beers and pulling them over ground to the bar. I dunno, the experience downstairs including the tours is nice. But it can’t beat having a good night sleep. Here you can have good night sleep after 1am, if that’s okay with you. Not okay with me. Also the room is very small and in my view not worth the cost associated. But the personal is helpful I must say.

My first time in a hostel. This one is good. We stayed in an 8 ppl dorm. The beds are comfortable, there are dark curtains next to each bed giving you privacy. There is a nice bathroom with fresh towels and we have a balcony. There are activities and you have a wristband allowing only wristband-holders to enter the hostel. Would definitely recommend it

I’m 5 foot 7 inches and still the beds were too small. The floor I was on had 25 people with only ONE bathroom, imagine having to walk down 1 or 2 floors in the middle of the night going to the bathroom. Because someone else is using it Also check out time is 11am, at 10am I was still sleeping and all the cleaning ladies opened my door and were being very loud . They even pulled my private curtain while I was trying to sleep in privacy. Very rude. The price is way too high for what you are getting. Decent location if you’re looking to party and be a tourist as you can walk to provenza

First experience at a hostel and definitely was an amazing one. Staff was very attentive and always looking forward to make you have the best nights ever at Medellin. Specially Stephaniee, Arcangel and Jazzy. Stephanie always in every event was making you feel very comfortable and happy. 100% recommended!

Amazing stay, everything was great. 5/5 overall. Rooms: 4 out 5 Rooms had some room for improvement but no complaints. Spacious(including bathrooms) My whole suitcase fit in the locker, which was amazing. Staff: 6 out 5 Amazing staff, very friendly. The staff is very well trained and bilingual. Fast laundry, free towels, always with a smile. Lots of well planned activities and tours available. Location: 5 out of 5. Safest area in Medellin, along with great bars, clubs and restaurants within walking distance. Hostel itself was also very well kept.

Amazing place to come and have a drink - excellent atmosphere. Especially Ana - Madison - Jesus and Luis, the four of them were so nice and very friendly and welcoming, they make the best drinks. My favorite Medellin mule

I had a lovely stay at Los Patios rooftop bar. Ana made me feel really welcome and liked after us all night, also Jonas was so welcoming! Highly recommended!

I was located in their second building, which was quiet and friendly (not sure if you can select it in your reservation though). The place is perfect for the early check-in/ late check-out folks like me: you have access to a personal locker on the lower floor that also includes sinks and showers, a large kitchen, and a variety of seating areas. I think it's the hostel with the best common areas I've ever seen, and the rooftops are out-of-this-world. The only downside was that the dormitory tended to get stuffy in summer even with the fan on.

Everything about this place rocks, including the cafe, the staff, and the two guitars in the back 🎸 Even on days I stayed in other hostels, I'd return here for the vibes. The gym is great as well. Will return when I make it back to Medellin.

Very nice and clean hostel. There is a nice party vibe if that's what you're looking for, altough it can get a little noisy. Staff is extremely nice and helpful, Luis even helped us make changes to our car rental in spanish. Restaurant is also very good. I would go back any time.

Fabulous! I came here for 5 days and stayed for 5 weeks, so be careful😅 As a digital nomad, I had everything I needed to do my work: a slient co-working space with great internet, 24/7 great coffee. I loved the Salsa/Bachata classes, cocktail classes, city bike tours, Spanish classes (these are for free 🕺🏼) A special thanks to all the hardworking staff and friends who made me feel like home ❤️🏡

I truly enjoyed the environment and atmosphere at Los Patios. The Salsa Dancing instructed by Jesus were phenomenal and awesome. Nieves is like the mother of the Hostel taking care to ensure everyone has a safe an enjoyable stay. I truly enjoyed all the games and getting to know my roommates Briana and Asmaa. I highly recommend staying at Los Patios if you want to have a great stay in Medellin.

I had the most amazing time at Los Patios. Staff was amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. Also, the rooftop bar had a beautiful view. I have no complaints. I will be back soon :)

This hostel is both beautiful and in a great location. The staff was amazingly kind too and very helpful. They even offer great tours and events (some free and some paid) each day that you can last minute sign up for. The art in the hostel was particularly breathtaking too. They even have a little shop with the cutest clothes and items. Definitely recommend staying at Los Patios, especially if it's your first time in Medellin and/or you want to be in a walkable area.

This is by far the best hostel I have stayed in Colombia and potentially even the world. The facilities are incredible from the rooftop pool to the many activities and the incredibly welcoming staff. We were here during the weekend and went to the party bus on the Saturday night and the pool party on the Sunday. There were BBQs, drinks specials and the private room was spacious, much like a hotel. We also booked the paragliding which was unforgettable and asked for lots of advice about getting around the city, which the staff were more than happy to help with. You can bring your own food and drinks to the common spaces and play pool, table tennis or poker. There’s also a large and clean kitchen for cooking as well as fresh drinking water from the tap. Luggage storage is safe with lockers, just bring your own lock. The party bus was a great way to meet people and the staff genuinely made everyone feel included. At the end of the night they also made sure everyone got home safely. I fully recommend Los Patios and would definitely come back.

Los Patios Hostel, provides the best energy hostel in the city of Medellin. Clean rooms with ample amenity space and lively rooftop patios. The staff were always friendly and happy to greet you. I received lots of helpful insight into local activities and fun day trips! Thank you Los Patios!

Such a fun hostel. The space is pristine. The street is a little loud but that’s half the fun. Great amenities and there’s loads of tour options that leave right from the lobby. The free coffee is delicious. This hostel seems to have thought of anything a traveler might need from luggage storage to earplugs. Would visit again!

Loved every bit of the experience. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the tours/activities posted at the front desk. ***Please tell Isa from the front desk that the English word she asked about for the plastic clasp on the key bracelets is “cord lock.”***

Stayed here four nights in December 2021 and had a very mediocre experience. Pros: -friendly and helpful staff -free coffee -sweet rooftop bar -very responsive to email/Whatsapp -AC unit worked well -great place to meet people. Seems to cater more to the young partying crowd. Cons: -toilet didn't flush well -shower hot water went in and out even after they "fixed" it -blackout curtain was hard to move and fell off completelywhile we there -room condition (Deluxe King Room) was fine but for $70+ a night you could get a much nicer room elsewhere -on our last night (Thursday night), there was super-loud music blaring until 4:30am. I was singing along in my head with the (good) music despite having earplugs in and my white noise app turned all the way up. There's no blocking out that thumping bass. We walked downstairs to see if there was anything they could do, but despite claiming 24-hour service, there was no one there and no one answered our Whatsapp messages. In the morning, the front desk staff was super-defensive and just kept reiterating that it wasn't their fault, it was the bar next door. Zero sympathy or apologies. Not great customer service after we had been up all night. Regardless of whose fault it is, just be aware there may be loud music blaring until the wee hours. Ultimately, there were some bright spots, but this was by far our worst lodging experience in Colombia.

I cannot say enough good things about this hostel. I have stayed at all the other tops hostels in the area (masaya, viejero), and I can confidently say this is the best place to stay if you are travelling solo and working remotely! They have two buildings. This review is for the older building (Boutique). Staying in one building gives you full access to the amenities in the other building. This building has a free co-work space with blazing fast wifi (100 Mbps down, 150 Mbps up) with bookable meeting rooms. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. The private rooms are amazing, and 4-bed dorms give you the best value. Most of the social events are based here, and they have the best staff organizing them. Everyone working here is super accommodating, friendly, and professional! All-star team!

Hands down the best Hostal in Medellín! Juan Camilo, Alejo and Felipe along with the rest of the staff checked off every request possible for my birthday party and weekend get away trip to be an absolute success. They personally helped with the reservation for 30 people and even were so helpful and willing to reaccomodate last minute requests. Juanca went above and beyond with allowing my group full access to the pool, restaurant and bar for my birthday party allowing live music, entertainment and tepanyaki dinner at sunset at their rooftop. The service if I could rate it was more than 5 stars. If they didn't have the beverage, they would run out to get it, type of service 🙌🏽. Definitely coming back, this place and the staff are a gem. Thank you

Just the best hostel in Medellín! Employees are SO NICE and helpful, they share great vibes ! The swimming pool and the view are great. Food is excellent (both on the rooftop and in the café - awesome specialty Colombian coffee!). Thanks a lot for everything, you’re the best!

We did a painting workshop with Alejandro this Thursday at los Patios. We really enjoyed the workshop and we learned a lot about how to work with shadows and perspective. We got to choose a picture from our travels (for us it was a colourful building we loved from Jardin). He explained everything very well and was very enthousiastic to answer all our questions. We would really recommend this workshop! And it's nice to have a souvenir you made yourself :)

Great hostel - staff is very energetic and mixing. Loved their Salsa classes and salsa night :D Their guatape tour is amazing!!!!! a bit expensive but worth it if you can spend the money. Although Viajero was a bit more relaxed and chill about hanging out so I would prefer staying there. I stayed in both hostels for 2 nights and Los patios was relatively strict about hanging out there when you are not staying.

I don't understand how the music is always fire!!?! 🔥 Not even 1 bad song. I have never been in a hostile before this. Only hotels. But this place is magical! If you get the chance try the dance classes, Marly is the best!

We have nothing else to compare to in Colombia/Medellin as we only stayed for 2 nights, but this hostel was the best we've stayed in across the world so far. We stayed in the second building as rooms/social areas are split across two. The rooms were clean and immaculate, there was an issue with water supply on the second night but don't believe this was down to the hostel. Roof top bars are stunning, with amazing views of the city and mountains. Hosting different activities each evening and morning for free. The food is AMAZING on the roof top bar and also down in reception for breakfast. Marcella hosted an amazing free walking tour coordinated by the hostel and helped us feel safe and comfortable in a particularly rough time for the centre of Medellin it seems! The hostel location itself does feel like a safer part of Medellin to stay. Would stay again.
