I’ve stayed six weeks. Period. - Honestly, Rango is the topp hostel in Medellín, and definitely one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! It’s hard to say what specifically makes the difference since there are so many points that just add up and create this amazing living and working atmosphere which it was for me: the staff is amazing, very accommodating, and simply wonderful, the amenities are great and kept clean at all times, the rusty industrial style is very fancy and provides this hip yet cozy atmosphere, the rooms are serviced every single day (which other hostel does that?), towels are included in the price and changed regularly or upon request, the rooftop bar offers space to meet other guests or simply enjoy a drink with views atop the city, the kitchen area offers space to prepare and eat your meals, etc. pp. And, probably the best for me, since the hostel was not at full capacity when I was there, the staff left the four bed dorm just for myself giving me much more privacy and adding an immense quality to my long-term stay. Also, the a la carte breakfast with five different options to choose from is outstanding, and clearly adds to the great total experience. (And, yes, it’s included in the price! The Swiss bakery provides fresh baking goods every morning, and the best croissants I have had in years!) Without doubt, I would come back to this hostel at any time, and can only recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high-class stay at a very reasonable price in Poblado, no matter whether it is just for a few nights or long-term - as in my case - while making use of the great working space inside.

A premium hostel. Cozy interior, quality rooms (based on a 2-bed room where we stayed), top tier service, good yet safe location, amazing rooftop (bar, pool, dem views) and a restaurant with a (DA)CH inspired cuisine, again with amazing service. Absolutely recommended.

The service here is great. The rooftop bar has delicous drinks and great views. Great location for walking around the city. About 15 min walk to the metro. Breakfast was super tasty. Coffee and tea and water available 24/7. The only downside for our stay was the room we had was on the street and the noise and exhaust from the cars below was rough one night. If you have a different room, not on the street, probably wouldn't be an issue. A little noise but no more than normal for a hostel.

The only downside was my room did not have air-conditioning but it was not needed after 8pm. it gets cool. loud music at night from the restaurants around but it was two nights of the 4 I noticed. what I loved was room view to the forest facing behind the building. great breakfast included if you get it in the package. clean bedroom and bathroom. spacious for a couple. beside the main areas and safe to visit. good entrance control of the building. rooftop is very nice and pool. welcome drink is free and yummy on the rooftop. smooth check-in and check-out. lots of tourists in the building. great vegan pizza restaurant beside it. price is fair for what they offer.

A great hostel to stay at! I had a private room, which was very comfy, very clean and comfortable. The private bathroom was in a separate room across the hallway, but it was spacious and clean. There is a rooftop bar which has awesome views of Medellin, and the food in the restaurant is not the cheapest, but it's delicious with great portion sizes. The guys at reception can also organise local tours which are very fairly priced, and even worked out cheaper than trying to organise yourself! The price for the room was a little bit more expensive than other hostels, bits it's definitely worth it!

We had a very pleasant stay with Rango Boutique Hostel. Besides nice interior and amazing garden in the backyard, staff is very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Definitely stay in this hostel again!

Best place to stay in Medellin! Clean, comfy & spacious rooms, great food in the little restaurant (try their pancakes!) and extremely friendly staff! Big thanks to the whole Rango team - hope to see you again.

Very good hostel in El Poblado. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Dorms are nice and clean with good beds and curtains. Some of them have a bathroom. Double rooms are also nice. Located next to a park which makes it super nice and tranquilo. The rooftop is also nice. Its not a super social hostel, no parties but you meet nice people there and if you want to party there are lots of options around. I stayed here for over a month and i would come again. Highly recommend this place.

Great hotel, great pizza right next to the hotel, decorated well, breakfast is not as shown in the hotels page unless your pay for extra breakfast, rooms are great and reception people are ok

Very nice place. Best breakfast that I’ve had during my stay. Also has a good rooftop pool and bar. Close enough to the party district and also quiet enough to sleep without all of the noise. Customer service on point as well. Recommended!

Nice place - definitely is more of a hotel than a hostel. The roof top bar is super nice especially at night. There is a pool, very small but still a nice place to cool off. There isn't a kitchen but the restaurant at the bottom has some good prices. I wish there was more of a social aspect to the hostel but I met some good people randomly that I travelled with. It's a 5 minute walk to the night-life (provenza)

The room is great except for the lack of air-conditioning. It gets pretty hot. I had a private room facing the park. Every night there was loud music going on until after midnight. Every night the playlist was almost identical. The noise and heat made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. All the staff were great and very helpful. The restaurant on the bottom floor was good for breakfast. I didnt find it particularly social as you would expect from a hostel. More like a hotel.

Really nice staff and clean hostel. Towel is provided which is a luxury during backpacking. Nice showers and a lot of arranged activities.

Rooms definitely should have air conditioning. Our room never dropped below 30C, even though it dropped to 18C outside in the early morning and our window was open. The room next to us had the same issue. Very noisy, but we should have checked more closely to see this is more of a party hostel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is very safe and had a lot of dining options.

I was pleasantly surprised at what you get for such a reasonable price. Room was clean, and cozy with comfortable bedding, nice thick towels and complementary toiletries. The location is centrally located in the center of town. Will definitely recommend and will be staying again.

📝 I spent one night here and I had a good time, although I found pricing higher than average, especially compared to other accommodation I stayed at in the near area. 🛏️ My room was a private one but the private bathroom was outside of the room itself, which I didn't particularly love. Still the room was big, comfortable, clean and stylish. Unfortunately it was very loud making it hard to sleep (it was a regular week day, not weekend). 📍 Location is ok: El Poblado is very touristic and intense with all the bars, restaurants and loud music. Rango is not on one of the main streets but you can simply walk to the busiest areas. The hostel's design is very appealing in each area, it's really modern and nice looking. ☝🏼 At check-in I was given a coupon for a welcome drink on the rooftop. Also, there are some activities which you can participate for free like yoga in the morning: a plus.

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms were comfortable and the rooftop bar was a nice place to spend the afternoon. We received a token for a free welcome cocktail which was a nice touch. There were a few weird things like no body towels in the room (you had to go down to reception and ask for them) and breakfast wasn’t provided which made this stay one of our more expensive ones but overall, would recommend and happily stay again.

Great place! I made the mistake only staying there for 1 of my 3 nights in Medellin. It’s clean, spacious and rooms are comfortable. Staff is really friendly and helped us out with booking tickets for an Atletico Nacional game. Downstairs there’s a bakery with excellent breakfast options. Rooftop has a chill bar where you can relax at the small pool. Price/quality definitely a go

It is a nice place, but we got a room on 5th level which is wright under the rooftop bar, that blasts loud bass music all day and until 12pm. They did not inform us about this, and they wouldn’t change the room. So all in all not a pleasant stay, if you do decide to go here, make sure you’re not on level 5!

One of the worst customer service I’ve experienced so far after 7 months of travel. I wasn’t able to come the first day of my reservation. I couldn’t contact them because I was stuck in the Choco region without wifi. They sold my bed without contacting me and my reservation was still accepted on booking… Next time I advice you to at least say sorry instead of laugh with other staff members.

More like a cool hotel; I really enjoyed my stay there. Lovely classy restaurant with outside verandah facing park. (Pity about the tobacco smoke 🤧) 24 hour hot and cold complimentary water and coffee ----- very nice! 🙏 All staff were friendly. Amazing rooftop views of city Book the walking tours in advance; I couldn't get on one. Metro and cable Car very impressive, but left my mobile + wallet in hostel locker, they say the pickpockets are very skillful 🤯, especially if the metro is crowded. The market is definitely worth a visit but it's in a not so good area, get off at "The hospital" stop on metro, go downstairs and there's a queue for a bus to market steps, it's free, included in metro ticket price. People will help you, just ask. Leaving , I got a taxi from taxi rank in market to hostal, much safer and cheap as chip's Enjoy 😉

Slightly disappointed but you get what you pay for. Pros: good breakfast, clean hostel, great location Very clean and modern hostel, that I would recommend but the service was lacking a little bit for me. Most interactions were met with little to no enthusiasm, not rude but not friendly. That was my second stay and will be my last. Stay here if you’re looking for a clean, safe place and are looking to meet new people. Great for solo and frugal travellers!

Wow! Amazing breakfast (6 different choices), amazing rooms, lovely staff, nice Swiss and German Bakery, rooftop view and pool

  • 4/5 Marc D. 1 year ago on Google
The restaurant is great, the terrace is wonderful, everything is clean and stylish, but there are some things to improve: - breakfast does only include one coffee, one choice of meal, one juice... if you want to have a coffee extra or a croissant or sth, you have to pay extra, which is not ok - the pool is not a pool, it's a little hole filled with cold water - the double rooms are ok, but quite basic, if you come with a lot of luggage it's hard to spare it - rooms to the streets are extremely loud - check out after 11 costs extra for every hour - staff is friendly but feels always a bit arrogant. Yes, it's a cool place, but you're nothing better because of that - the coffee machine for free coffee at the entrance was broken for all three days we stayed and nobody cared about an alternative option - at night there was no warm water to shower

AMAZING HOSTEL - best in Colombia. i stayed in both the dorms and private rooms. Both were SUPER comfy and clean (seriously the cleanest hostel i've ever stayed in). the hostel was quieter than i thought so not the most social but i did still meet people! They have free yoga, salsa, and work out classes. I went paragliding through their tour company and it was so fun and the best rate i could find. Super clean communal kitchen. Best was the super kind and friendly staff!! Very close to social scene but generally in a quieter area. Would 100% recommend and stay again!!!! There was one night on a friday that the building next door was BLASTING reggaeton until 4 am - it was SO loud and impossible to sleep, but it was not the fault of the hostel's. This was only one out of 6 nights i stayed there.

The shared toilet for men can get filthy and is not well-maintained (broken light throughout my 4-night stay). Also has a weird sensor for the light that is so short and you have to move every few seconds to turn it back on… Else, room is fine and has a nice rooftop bar area and an average breakfast place in the basement. Staff were nice and helpful.

Good place and super friendly staff! The diner downstairs was good however it took unusually long for the food to arrive. The wifi however was consistently a problem for virtual meetings. I’d go back for the amazing service and river but definitely worth visiting a coworking to get things done online. Their taxi service is also spectacular.

Very well run hostel. Swiss quality! Good location. Friendly staff. The dorm rooms are a bit small and the breakfast takes a long time. Great bakery within the restaurant. They have a whattsapp group for activities which is helpful.

Great Hostel, amazing cocktails Edit: The breakfast area is very nice however, the range of breads and croissants on display, as well as for example orange juice is not part of the breakfast included, which is rather strange you can’t just ask for a croissant and orange juice with your morning coffee unless you pay extra.

This is somewhere between a hostel and a hotel. There are six floors (very unusual for a hostel) but many of the rooms have six beds. During Covid-19, only 50% capacity is available and I had the room to myself for my whole stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. When I come back to Medellín, I will certainly be staying here again.

Great designer hostel in very safe location, helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast in a beautiful garden. I actually visited 2x over 6 months - loved it here so much I didn't bother looking for a different place the second time in Medellin
