Hey, if you want to play golf at a course where are you were going to be disrespected continuously from start to finish by the head pro (Ben) and then harassed by a ranger (older African American ā€œGentlemanā€) then this is the course for you! If youā€™re looking for greens that have divots everywhere and arenā€™t well-kept, the fairways that arenā€™t cut properly and traps that wonā€™t raked for weeks at a time, then you definitely want to go to Birkdale? And if you have anybody on your four-man team, that is unexperienced and canā€™t keep up with an ā€œeight minute pay a pace!ā€ (As told by GM of Brandermill)ā€¦. I would think twice about spending 50+ dollars to play this course. Acumen Golf a ā€œ prestigiousā€ ownership group has decided to hire head, pros, rangers, and associates that have no idea what customer service is! Again, if you think that youā€™re not a good enough player to keep up with the eight minute play time between teams, definitely donā€™t come to this course. P.S. - watch what the response to this comment isā€¦ youā€™ll see the level of customer service on full display. (Which Iā€™m sure will be either nothing or a fake apology). ZERO STARSā€¦ and to think I was about to become a member at Brander Millā€¦ so glad I joined up elsewhere!

Iā€™ve been hesitant to play this course all year based on reviews. However I gave it a chance in the worst time of the year to play golf, when the grass is dead and the leaves are heavy. I must say I was quite impressed with the current conditions. It appears that they over seeded the fairways and of course the rough is mostly dead. The course was challenging but also enjoyable to play. The staff was friendly. The putting green, driving range, and chipping area are in decent shape however are not the best based on other local courses. The one gripe I have with the play today would be the pace. We were keeping pace with a group ahead of us, however we were being pushed by two groups behind us. A starter on the weekends may be beneficial in making sure evenly spaced groups are going out. All in all I enjoyed my round today and will definitely be back to play again. I encourage anyone who questioned playing over the year to give it another shot, maybe in a better time of the year, it can only be better!

Best Golf club in the area! Staff is really friendly and helpful. The course is in good shape, the greens has plenty of divots, but only the members is to blame for that! Nobody fixes their divots! The green keeper do thier best! Keep up the great work!

Very impressed with the course for the price, Greens are in a very good condition considering amount of play. Staff was very nice, Couple drainage issues across the course but overall worth the price.

Great little course. The white tees are really short at this course. I would recommend playing blue/black if you are a reasonable player. Course was in good shape in late August. The staff is very friendly and the owner Mike rolls around the course making sure everyone is having a good time. Pace of play can be an issue on some holes. There is a well-apointed beverage cart that that comes around frequently. One odd thing is they close the 19th hole down at 4pm. The greens and tee boxes are in good shape, so no complaints. Be warned, they have a 1-2 foot buffer of extreamly long grass around some of there sand traps. Just think of Wingfoot/US Open and you'll get it. Unless you have mad-skills avoid at all costs. Staff was great, probably the friendliest course I have ever played. Not sure if everybody was on their A-game because the owner was there or it's a consistent attribute. Anyway great course can't wait to Play It Again. On a side note, if you play golf frequently as I do, you may want to look at their memberships and includes three decent courses for a reasonable price. Update: Thank you for making the investment in new golf carts!

Horrible. Pace of play was 3hrs for a 9. No Marshall, no starter, nothing. There was 6somes with 2 walkers and 3 carts. Absolutely terrible staff and management. When I went into the club house to complain the golf pro just sat in his office texting on his phone scared to say a thing. I will never play this course again. Absolutely pathetic

Love the layout of the course. Staff is friendly, people that play there are also. Greens kill me, can't end up in the wrong place which I did too many times. Would love to play there again!

Birkdale failed at every opportunity during our previous and most likely last visit. When setting a tee-time the individual who answered the phone was rude, I heard audible sighing and he seemed annoyed to even book a customer tee-time. Upon arrival it must have been the same individual when we checked in and he was rude for that experience which was only establishing a pattern for poor customer service. I was also informed there would be a $10 fee if we chose to walk the course which was best described as their way to improve pace of play. Anyone who has played at Birkdale knows that this is laughable, if they even remotely cared about pace of play, they would not stack the tee-times so close or would help with course management and enforcement of tee-times. Walkers are hardly ever a problem, but allowing five-somes or those who are late to still tee-off and hold up everyone else could easily be corrected but they do not seem to care. Finally, at the current cost to play the course, it is nowhere near the condition to warrant such a high price. I can only assume those who leave reviews raving about the conditions must be comparing this to a goat farm as it is only marginally better. Avoid this course and take your money to any other course, you are guaranteed to have a better experience than Birkdale.
