I have a special place in my heart for the headwaters science center. They have a small selection of animals, some of which can be touched(with help from a volunteer). So many cool little exhibits where children can learn by play. I've come here periodically since I was a kid, many of the exhibits are the same and many of the exhibits are new. They shuffle exhibits around every once in a while to keep it feeling fresh. All in all a wonderful experience every time I go.

Small but mighty! We bought their year membership and have been going every Tuesday for their extra activity they do upstairs. We've been going for weeks in a row for almost 2 months now and I still have to drag my son out of there!

My daughter and I visited Headwaters recently. They have many interactive science experiments. My daughter enjoyed making the giant bubbles & learning about all of the animals & reptiles. The staff was wonderful & the girl working in the reptile area was super knowledgeable & professional. She took out any reptile that we wanted to touch/hold & told us interesting facts about each one. We had a great experience & will definitely return.

I went here for the first time today and it was amazing! They have so many different birds and reptiles to see and one of the workers even came over and picked up some of them to pet or hold! I bought quite a bot at their amazing gift shop and had fun playing with the project exhibits they have there. They had so many wonderful and realistic looking animal model toys. I definitely want to go again someday with my family!

We had such a great time! The kids got to learn & have fun at the sametime. The staff if very friendly and helpful.

This place was awesome when I was a kid they have so much for kids and adults to play with and look at the have snakes and spiders and little activities for the younger kids perfect place foe an elementary school field trips there's not a lot of parking space but what do you expect for downtown bemidji and the road is very close by so I'd keep an eye out for oncoming traffic as well.

What a cool museum for kiddos! Vanessa was so kind (and awesome) showing my ladies all the animals and explaining who and what they are. We will be back when we make day trips to Bemidji!

Highly recommend! We had 3 adults and 7 children and spent 2 hours exploring this museum! There were endless dcience activities, and I would definitely go back!

I took my 4 kids here all 7 and under, they had so much fun seeing the animals, and all the fun activities and exhibits! I definitely will be returning here again with my family on my husband's next day off of work!

My kids have the time of their life every time we come here! Super friendly staff, they sell the folkmanis puppets too if you are looking for hyper realistic puppets for content creation, or to do story time with students, day care or your own kids. This science center also has a reptile petting zoo type set up which is super exciting because the kids can come pet the animals with a staff member handling them and learn about animals like bearded dragons, pythons and other snakes people keep as pets, they also have stick bugs, and other neat critters, including an owl enclosure! I highly recommend this place to locals, tourists and people just passing through looking to walk around after a meal at one of the local restaurants.

We love the science center! One of the last times that we visited, there was a presentation on raptors.

Great place for the kids, spent over 2 hours here and had to drag them away. Live and stuffed animals, science displays and more.

Good cheap entertainment for all ages. They haven't changed much in 20 years. Still awesome the hospitality was great knowledgeable staff. I hope the community finds ways to fund this place more in the future. I look forward to more memories and learning experiences with my children

It was really fun but a lot of stuff needs to be updated and one guy just really ruined the mood for the kids I took he just did not care it was hard to get his attention and he clearly just wanted to be on his phone while he was working I would love to give it more stars since this place has a special place in my heart but I can't

Brought my 18 month old and 4 year old and they had a blast! Very interactive and the kids were all over the place. Quite a few early teenagers there too while we were there. Was a fun time and the kids slept on the way home! Thanks HSC!

It may be small compared to some science museums in larger cities, but they make great use of the space with interactive exhibits, live animals, etc. The kids were talking about this for days afterwards. Even the teenagers admitted that they had a good time! Definitely worth a visit.

A very nice place where you can interact with the animals and objects to learn how each thing works and how to care for each animal. It is a great place. I totally recommend it.
