Very nice and serene place. I actually liked sitting here for hours very much. The aarti is also very beautiful, and there is provision for boating as well! You can also take a boat to the opposite bank for camel rides and motor parachuting (don't know what exactly it's called and right now I'm too lazy to google, sorry). But all in all, a very good experience. Really liked the city, you can feel that the spiritual feeling is in the air.

If you are looking for peace, this place is for you. Sitting on the banks of the Ganges really gives you a bundle of positivity. You can get a lot of ideas if you are an artist. The view, the tranquility, the vibes, at night is what you'll love for sure. PS: The ganges and Varanasi is a part of our mother Earth. Keep the city and the Ganges neat and clean. Please be a responsible traveller :)

It’s one of the main ghats of Varanasi. It’s a good place to be at any time of the day. You can also visit this place for practicing yoga in the morning time. All day along, you can find the place filled with small food stalls and boat vendors. You can book the shared boat or rent an entire boat as well. You can take this boat and sail to other ghats as well. Totally recommended place.

You should visit the place in morning and attend the morning Aarti and the Boat ride. Aarti time usually between 5 AM to 7 AM in summers but it is best to check with the locals so to get exact timings. Boat rides are highly negotiable so try to get a good deal. Do enjoy a boat ride while enjoying the sunrise.

One of the more famous yet peaceful ghats. You can enjoy Morning and Evening Ganga Aarti alongside boating experience. Make sure to try the Kulhad Maggi, Masala Chai, and Bhel Puri. For food, if you want something western with the most beautiful aesthetic, go for Pizzeria Vatika while for Indian, go for places near the entrance.

It's a nice place. Spiritually very aesthetic and has a relaxing vibe. Good place to visit during daytime if you want to avoid crowd and want some sightseeing. You can bring children. Lot of biodiversity on the banks. Some places has cleanliness issues but nothing not manageable. Good prices if you want a boat ride. Shared rides can go anywhere from ₹50-80. Lot of eating options available. Nice restaurant options overlooking the river. Few book shops too in the area. Reaching here can be a bit tricky. Locals are very helpful though.

Assi Ghat in Varanasi is an iconic riverfront gathering place that never fails to captivate visitors with its spiritual ambiance and cultural vibrancy. This mesmerizing spot holds a significant place in Hindu mythology and is known for hosting religious festivals, enchanting performances, and rejuvenating yoga classes. The tranquil setting of Assi Ghat, nestled on the banks of the sacred River Ganges, is truly awe-inspiring. The Ghat's energy is palpable, especially during the evening aarti ceremony when devotees gather to offer prayers and witness the soul-stirring spectacle of the lamps floating on the shimmering waters. In addition to being a religious hub, Assi Ghat also embraces art and culture. It showcases various colorful performances, including classical music and dance, which enrich the cultural fabric of the city. The ghat is an oasis of serenity where one can unwind, meditate, and connect with their inner selves through yoga classes offered by experienced instructors. Assi Ghat is a must-visit destination for all those seeking a blend of spirituality, cultural immersion, and natural beauty. Its enchanting atmosphere and diverse offerings make it a truly unforgettable experience in Varanasi.

It is a captivating riverside haven, exuding cultural vibrancy. The ghat's serene ambiance draws pilgrims, locals, and tourists alike, seeking solace along the Ganges. The sunrise and sunset views are breathtaking, casting a golden glow on the sacred river. Pilgrims engage in spiritual rituals, while yoga enthusiasts find tranquility in the early morning sessions. The bustling bazaars nearby offer a taste of local life and traditional crafts. However, the popularity of Assi Ghat can lead to crowds during peak times. Despite this, the ghat remains an essential stop for those yearning to witness the spiritual and cultural tapestry that defines Varanasi.

Morning arti atmosphere very spiritual. Morning 5am to 8am boat riding experience is super cool. Make sure to bargaining with boat rider otherwise they charge too much. Assi ghat to manikarnikaghat special single person boat charge 500Rs.

You can feel the presence of all mighty here. Go have a boat ride at afternoon though because at evening during the t8me time of Ganga artii they charge hefty amount. But do participate in artii. Just standing there you can fell liberated. And when you get tured dip your legs in ganga and sit by side and you can have free fish pedicure.

People who cannot visit Dashashwamedh Ghat due to excessive crowds can visit Assi Ghat, which is less crowded and peaceful. There are also several cafes nearby, so visitors can satisfy their hunger. It is not expensive to take a boatman from Assi ghat to Manikarnika ghat to see the surreal view of the holy river Ganga.

It gives immense peace and spiritual pleasure sitting on ghats, listening to some bands which are usually performed there and watching sunrise and the flow of river Ganges. The ghats is clean, crowd free and friendly . The boat ride is much cheaper than Dashaswamedh ghat, it cost approx Rs50 per head on share boats.

A very divine experience of Ganga aarti. This ghat is bigger than other ghats so there is good space therefore no rush during aarti. The boating facility is also available here. The aarti was performed in coordination by the priests.

Assi Ghat is one of the famous ghats (steps leading to a river) located along the banks of the Ganges River in Varanasi, India. It's situated at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. Assi Ghat is a popular destination for pilgrims, tourists, and locals alike. Many people visit Assi Ghat for religious ceremonies, yoga practices, and to witness the vibrant cultural activities that take place there. It's also known for its serene ambiance, especially during sunrise and sunset. The ghat is named after the Assi River, which used to flow into the Ganges at this spot, although now it's largely underground. It's a significant location in the spiritual and cultural landscape of Varanasi.

Assi Ghat is the southernmost ghat in Varanasi. To most visitors to Varanasi, it is known for being a place where long-term foreign students, researchers, and tourists live. There are a lot of activities for tourists to engage in at the ghat. Visitors can go for boat rides, go up in a hot-air balloon for an aerial view of Assi ghat, enjoy the daily talent show in the evening or eat at one of the many restaurants and cafes in the area.

It's a very quiet place if you can find. I must say everyone should visit once this place. You will find it quite good. There are birds and water. Everything you will see here, you will find it watching something beautiful. Water is not so clean, so I will say not to bath in it. But you should try boating, it'll be a great fun.

You will hardly find any other place like this in Banaras. This is a very nice place and the nature here is very good, if you come in the morning time then you will get to see a lot of peace. Although there is a crowd in the evening, but if you come in the morning then you will feel very good and you can do meditation etc. and although people come here to roam more and more. But if you want to do meditation or yoga you can also come

I have visited there on 12 June so on that day G20 was going on at Dashwamesh ghat. But really the arti was good enough for all your day end. Just eat some local food. And take boat ride which costs Rs 100. But for me it was a life time experience as there was a lot of decoration was there due to G20. And clean ganga. A offcourse the fire show... Amazing. All over diyas are burned. And firecracker show was amazing. I think that my trip to that place was successful . Thanks to Mahadev for such pleasant trip. I will not forget that experience.

Varanasi (banaras) word were derived from two words , varuna & assi, the name of two rivers, basically, the area in the border of these two rivers is called varanasi (banaras), one ghat in sequence of some ghats where assi river meets the ganga, is called assi ghat. By location assi ghat is one of the last ghats in varanasi if you are moving towards rajghat to saint ravidasghat. This ghat is nearby those areas were most of the youth population of varanasi were live, like durgakund ( education hub of varanasi) and Lanka (Banaras Hindu University) , so all time (sometime 24*7) you find youth in this ghat. Atmosphere of the ghat is full of positive vibes, sometimes you feel calmness of the river & sometimes you go in flow with the river

One of the best Ghats of Varanasi. You must visit this place if you are going there. Ganga aarti , boating, Subah-e-banaras etc are the most notable things there. Must visiting place and also you will find lot of foreigners here. If you are linked with your heritage and culture then definitely you will find this place useful.

Nice place for visiting at Varanasi. specially in evening GANGA aarti. place is good for kids, Family, couple. It is very crowded place in evening. So don't drive car or any other personal vehicle.

Awesome place. Loved visiting Assi Ghat. I had a memorable boat ride experience. Even did camel ride on the other side of ghat. The charges are nominal considering that day was not busy one. One might get charged high on busy days. Loved the place ❤️.

On my stay in Varanasi went there for a few times and saw both ceremonies: sunrise and sunset. I'm sunrise ceremony besides the ritual of fire they have also live music and yoga class. Was a beautiful experience be part of the morning ritual in this Ghat

Assi ghat has different Vibes. here you see different colours of India with a soothing view of Ganga. It's crowded in the evening but still enough space to enjoy with your friends and family. Here you can use the boat to cross the river on the other side and where you can do horse riding and camle riding. there are plenty of restaurants on the bank of the river.

Awesome place to visit as well as stay..Better to stay in Assi Ghat and take Electric Auto and visit Kashi Temple. Affordable and serene.. Try Pahalwan ki lassi, labang lotiki, Capcicum food court for veg,Roma's cafe for veg nonveg dinner, Maharaja Non veg roll...Try to go by Thursday and then enjoy the weekend

AWESOME PLACE ...REALLY ASTHETIC Assi Ghat is the southernmost ghat in Varanasi. It is one of the biggest ghats of Varanasi and most popular one. To most visitors to Varanasi, it is known for being a place where long-term foreign students, researchers, and tourists live. Assi Ghat is one of the ghats often visited for recreation and during festivals.

This ghat is famous ghat in Varanasi and first ghat among the all ghats. You can start boating from here, easily available boats from here. You can have ganga arti experience here at evening. I suggest that don't visit during summer its too hot here

I recently visited Assi Ghat at Banaras and it was an amazing experience. The ghat is one of the most popular and beautiful ghats in Banaras, with a great view of the Ganges river and the surrounding temples and buildings. The ghat is very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space for visitors to relax, meditate, or take a dip in the river. The atmosphere at the ghat is very peaceful and serene, with a great vibe that makes you feel very calm and relaxed. The ghat is also home to many local vendors who sell a variety of souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. The staff at the ghat were very friendly and helpful, and they provided great insights into the history and significance of the ghat. Overall, I highly recommend Assi Ghat at Banaras for anyone looking for a great place to relax, meditate, or enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Ganges river.

This ghat is main ghat due to its versatility. You may come early morning 5AM to witness the ganga arti and then choose to have ganga snan across the river (boats can take you there for 50 to100 rupees per person for a large group). There is one room built for women to change across the river where you take the bath, however, no proper changing room. A changing room at the ghat side is occupied by some vendor and there is no administration. Ramps are under construction and may get available soon for better accessibility. We also took a boat ride for evening ganga arti at dashashwamedh ghat where the boat will take you until manikarnaka ghat and return. They took 200 rupees per person. View is spectacular of the ghats and arti (in case of less crowd). Don't miss the Ganga Arti at evening.

Excellent experience after the terrible morning in kashi temple. It's nice with harmonious singing we took the view from the boat. They charge 100 per person for it. The boat will be stationary. The person reciting had a great voice. Singing together was very engaging. Was quite humid, but definitely worth going and experiencing.

I guess the best place I have ever been to, the calm, the warmth of this place, is just amazing!! You will eventually feel spiritual flow in the air of Assi ghat.

Although all the things in Banaras are wonderful, out of them I like Assi Ghat the most. This is a place where you can see all the Ghat (River Bank) from this site. You can freely walk around the ghat and enjoy the panoramic view of the Ganga river. This a most 2nd Famous ghat in the City after Dashashwamedh ghat. Here you will see most people come for Morning & Evening Ganga Arti, Also in the evening time, you can enjoy the Indian's cultural programs like classical Dance or live music, Indian Classical Vocal and many more. Beautiful sunrises and sunset views can enchant you with together you can enjoy the hand bloating along the river. You must have come to Assi Ghat once to take a beautiful picture full of memories home with you.

Assi Ghat is one of the 84 ghats of Banaras. Ganga Arti is performed every morning at 5:30 a.m and every evening at 7 p.m. You can buy tickets to have a seat on boats and enjoy the unhindered view of the Arti from there. It cost me Rs 200 for a seat. You can go for local shopping near the Ghat and don't forget to visit the pizzeria restaurant and enjoy a fantastic view of the Ganga while having refreshments with your loved ones.

Its a beautiful place. What a surreal experience. There were many people asking for a boat ride. Please take a genuine one. I would recommend sikandar. Just ask for him. Go for a solo boat ride. You would thoroughly enjoy the Ganges. Its a beautiful and spiritual journey. There was just pure bliss.

Great ghat a good entry point to start walking towards the other ghats. You can see the ganga arti in the evening, it's gets super crowded though. You can also take the boat rides from this towards to more famous ghats.

It's the southernmost Ghat in Varanasi where pilgrims bathe before paying homage to Lord Shiva. The Ghat is named after the Assi River, which merges with the Ganges here. It's a vibrant place filled with culture and spirituality, attracting scholars, students, and tourists alike. It's also mentioned in several ancient scriptures, adding to its historical significance. A daily event called Ganga Aarti is a must-see spectacle here!

This is one of the prestigious place of banaras which located on the bank of Gangaji. The most special things about this ghat is Ganga arti which started at 7 pm and this gives a spiritual energy to the body 😌. So if your depressed and feel bored from your life then you must visit here you will be able to reprogram your brain.. 😎

Quiet place compared to other Ghats within Varanasi. There's provision made for street vendors to set up their stall on a platform which is near and clean. But the public is critical for maintaining this place clean.
