I recently visited here before lockdown. It's was amazing moment's for entertainment . Deer Park is a mini zoo in Sarnath, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Deer Park is also known as Sarnath Deer Park. This park is very popular in Varanasi. This park has various species of animals and birds. This park's name is Deer Park because deer are a sign of peace. This park was open many centuries ago (but reserved for the royal owners); officially established in 1956. And right now the habitat of about Nine species here with more than 300 animals & acquires 33 acres of land

Sarnath is a Buddhist pilgrimage site which is located close to the confluence of the Ganga and the Varuna rivers in Uttar Pradesh. There are four popular Buddhist pilgrimages in the world that are assumed to be sanctioned by Gautama Buddha himself of which one of them is Sarnath, the others being Lumbini, Bodh Gaya and Kushinagara. Gautama Buddha taught his first sermon in the Deer Park, which is now a major attraction for tourists visiting Sarnath. He also followed The Four Noble Truths and preached the Eight-fold path for a happy and content life. Sarnath is sometimes also referred to as Isipatana. There are some ancient edifices and Buddhist architecture that stood the test of time. The world famous Ashoka pillar at Sarnath is a structure with the Ashoka Chakra that consists of four wheels at four cardinal directions and between them are four distinct animals. Four lions are rested on top of the Ashoka Chakra. The Bodhi Tree is also a crowd puller as it is a part of the actual Bodhi Tree from Bodh Gaya. Then there is the Sarnath museum which is cited by the Archaeological Survey of India as the most antiquated museum. It contains all the Buddhist discoveries and ancient remains of the Sarnath archaeological site. The Chaukhandi Stupa is a terraced temple which marks the spot where Gautama Buddha and his disciples had their first encounter on their way to Sarnath from Bodh Gaya. The Stupa has Buddha’s relics enshrined with an architecture that is an amalgamation of diverse cultures. The Dhamek Stupa was built by Emperor Ashoka to radiate the teachings of Buddha all over the world. Buddhist art and architecture have flourished and people from across the world flock to Sarnath today to witness the histrionic monuments of the bygone era. Buddhism is a dominant faith in countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Singapore, China and many others. Timings: Sarnath Temple and Museum open at 06:00 AM to 07:00 PM Entry Fees: 20 INR (online payment) or 25 INR (cash payment) per person for Indian/SAARC/BIMSTEC tourist and 250 INR (online payment) or 300 INR (cash payment) per person for foreign tourist. (Childrens upto 15 years of age allow free entry) Photography: Free of cost Videography: 25 INR per video Camera

A mini zoo but with a plethora of flauna. You can see different types of birds and animals including crocodiles, alligators, pelican, porcupine, parrots, peacocks, emu, white neck stork, cranes, deers and variety of ducks. There is also a nature trail and boating available. Small and beautiful. Entry rate is minimal as well.

Best of Varanasi A world class relic with no fencing or barrier to stop you from wandering among the ruins and touching the stone bricks carved thousands of years ago Laying on the lawn for a sunbath or sitting under the shades of old trees, both are equally relaxing and refreshing Tourists of varied colours passing beneath the giant monument mound Transient vs eternity Material being vs spirituality Relative permanency in an neverending illusive flow of time A space of historical origin for the body to settle the brain to calm down the sense to feel and reset and the mind to reflect and contemplate.

This is a small Deer Park situated in Sarnath, a little outside Varanasi City. There is a proper zoo worth visiting with friends and family. Keeping an animal in a cage is like locking a human in a dungeon. If the government should protect biodiversity, then it is trying to eliminate it. The condition of Sarnath zoo is not common. It has become very pathetic. I am just thinking that they provide good feeding structure or not.

sarnath deer park is like mini zoo with limited animals including, birds, reptiles, deer and fish. this place needs very muh attention of authority, i found them not up to the mark as compared to other zoo. Concerned authority must do some major changes in the keeping of these creatures. Ticket cost is INR 5/- for age <12 INR 10 for indian adults INR 25 for foreigners. Zoo is open till 5pm.

Deer Park' is an auspicious event in Sarnath, India, where the Buddha turned the wheel of Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings. This is also known as Mrigadava which means "deer-park". There are a number of different claims about where the name of Sarnath for this 'Deer Park' was derived, with one of them explaining that one of Buddha’s titles is ‘Saranganath’, which means ‘Lord of the Deer’. The story continues.. Buddha as an enlightened being took the form of a Deer and offered his life to a king to take the place of the doe that the king was planning to kill. The king in turn was so moved that he created the park now known as Sarnath as a sanctuary for Deer.

This is a small deer park, just behind the Sarnath temple, it is not much special, but in this park, you will find many different birds in a small space, which you may not have seen. In this, the apps will take a token of Rs 10 for entry, only then will the entry be in the park. Overall I think it's okay for kids so kids will see new birds, crocodiles, ducks, different types of parrots. I have taken some pictures dear park

First of all the place is neat and clean. Greenery environment. Ticket counter for zoo is totally rushed. No care taken for public facilities at ticket counter. One can take water and dry snacks inside but take care of cleanliness. Not much animals and birds. Ticket prices Rs. 10 for adult and Rs. 5 for kids Upto 12yrs. Foreigners Rs. 50 No need to take guide. You can freely move anywhere.

I wish I could have the opportunity to give stars in minus. The Buddha temple is way too good but the zoo. The animals are kept in a very wrong way, no cleanliness of the entire zoo. I wonder how do the pity animals live there their entire life when I could not stand for 5 minutes there because of the smell. The animals are given very less food and water and also been given a small area, and the worst of sanitation. The birds specially are cagged in the worst way. I would recommend you to never ever go to Sarnath zoo. Pitty that they are doing such an act inside a temple. Instead the Sarnath temple is very good. But the food and products you buy here could be a bit expensive.i would recommend you to see the stupa and main temple and not the zoo... Even don't take a travel guide for travelling there, it may destroy the entrie joy of being in a temple of The great Budha.
